...The beeping of my alarm clock sounded like a countdown. The first day of high school was only two hours away. I was excited, but a lot more nervous. I got out of bed, got ready, and then was on my way to the bus stop. All I could think of were the stories I heard about high school being so horrible with all the strict teachers, the really hard tests, and of course being a freshman didn’t help either. The bus ride to the school was only ten minutes, but it seemed a lot longer. When we finally got there, I was more nervous than ever. I noticed one of my Muslim friends that were attending this school with me being bullied for his religion and the attire that he had on. Honesty I wasn’t shocked by this only because I have experienced this before. I know that racism takes place all over the world but I just can’t stand it when it takes place in front of me. It was the day that the entire city of Detroit, MI was covered in so much snow; everything had come to a halt.
