Importance Of Art In Art

...abstract works, or making works that are more obviously about material process? I’m still fascinated by the idea that if you want to get the audience to think about a, b and c, that sometimes you have to present them with x, y and z. You actually have to present them with the absence of something in order for the art to happen inside their head. I mean, I know this now, I know that I give them something to look at with their eyes, but I’ve always thought of what I do, these paintings of these objects… I’d be as comfortable with you now talking about them as objects, as I would be talking about them as paintings… Take artists for instance who would have made something deliberately to look like a precious object as well as representing something, some scene… If we take a look at the Northern Romantic heritage painter, if we’re talking about Joachim Patinir for instance… I’m devoted. If I go to the Metropolitan Museum like I did last Sunday it’s...

The Importance Of Art

...I truly hope that everyone else will come along and look deep into themselves as well. One beautiful aspect of art that I feel isn’t captured enough is how it makes people reflect internally. When most people talk about art their first thought isn’t about how it’s a pouring out of your soul, your mind, your ideas, your hopes, your dreams. While I will be directly addressing the benefits of art for INFPs, everyone in the universe can benefit from art and I truly believe that everyone should.  Sometimes people are scared or afraid of art. Not enjoying it, just doing it themselves. We all enjoy art on a daily basis. Anything that’s been created is art! Any meal, any movie, any music. It’s all art! I understand why some people are scared, I must admit, there was a point in my life where I was terrified...

The Importance Of Art Crime

...So, tell me if you are a student or do you work? Well, I am a student. I am completing my Master's degree in Anthropology at a local university. My specialization is in 'Art crime'. That looks pretty interesting and different. So tell me more about your specialization. One of the major areas, just to make it more simple for understanding, of Art Crime deals with the different ways in which cultural items or artefacts of historical importance are illegally dug out or looted from archaeological sites and then later sold in the black market. Sometimes, such items are taken away from museums also and later find their way in black market where they can be sold for a fortune. So we try to track the supply chain of such crimes in our study. The Importance Of Art Education

...Students who participate in art and music at school are often more likely to win awards for school attendance, and be elected into class office. In the 1930’s, art education flourished since the Federal Art Program (FAP) provided jobs to artists and musicians as art teachers in public schools. In 1947, National Art and Education Association (NAEA) was formed to assist public schools in the funding of art programs. Although, in 1958, art education dwindled. The National Defense Education Act was formed when people saw that Americans were falling behind in education and they concluded it was because not enough funding was going into necessary education. Therefore, the amount of schools that funded art education reduced. However, in 1962, John...

Art Theory

...of the book (Art Theory) of Robert Williams is generally refers to the existence of art history and art theory at the same time. As far as the importance is concerned, there is no significant difference between art history and art theory. These two always correlated in every way in one aspect, learning art theory; obviously it will provide you the importance of art history at the same time, in studying, and engagement with art. When understanding art, philosophy attempts to come up with theories about art. This theory is maybe a set of principles that define and explains the full meaning of art. However, sometimes, just because a theory is wrong doesn't mean it has no value, we can describe the importance of every art theory even if it is wrong or right. For that reason, an art theory may satisfy necessary or enough conditions, and it will always find exceptions. As we go to the purpose of studying art theory, history should always be part of it. According to Robert Williams, Studying theory should be approached historically, that it is within a comprehensive history of art that the study of theory has most to offer. For example the contemporary art, that involves multifaceted of artists, artwork, audience, institutions. All of these aspects demonstrate with each other, and changes through history. This complex ideas change through history and produce tension between common and uncommon creativity. Works Cited The Introduction of the book (Art Theory) of Robert...

The Arts and Crafts movement stressed the importance of beautiful, handmade crafts and Art nouveau eventually evolved from this, especially in architecture. These new age architects especially Gaudi saw the way architecture was being produced most notably that of the example district in Barcelona and was appalled by it. Hum 205 / W3 Classical Societies

...between Poseidon and Athena for guardianship of the city of Athens” (Lahanas). The relationship between the art and the culture of the related civilization depicts through its purpose as a temple. Some articles suggest that the temple was a place where worship occurred for both Poseidon and Athena; the structure survives and reminds of the religious history by Athenians, in Classical Greece. This genre of art influenced the culture of that civilization by providing space for religious beliefs to grow and continue; the culture influenced that genre of art through their religious practices and beliefs. Hellenistic Greece The art selectiton for the Hellenistic Greece period is “Lysippos, Apoxyomenos (The Scraper),” (Benton, DiYanni, 2008, p. 77); originally a bronze sculpture and replicated in marble reveals the competitive nature and strife to succeed with greatness. The Scraper represents the relationship between art and culture of Hellenistic Greece by capturing how the civilizations interest became more individualistic rather than basing on the successes of the whole civilization. The art would have influenced the culture of that civilization by stimulating others to focus more to make higher individual achievements. The culture influenced that genre of art by the focus they placed and capturing the portrayal of individual strengths. Etruscan civilization The art piece “Wife and Husband Sarcophagus, from Cerveteri,” (Benton, DiYanni, p. 99) is...

...their culture. Of all the forms used to express Ancient Egyptian culture, none is more significant than the Egyptian art. Ancient Egyptian art give insights into the ancient Egyptian culture. In ancient Egypt, sculpture had a significant religious and political importance. Art symbolized various seasons and religious practices. Sculpture continues to have a significant political and religious importance in the contemporary world, just as it did in the ancient Egyptian culture. The giant stone head of King Amenhotep III is one of the sculptures that symbolize ancient Egyptian culture. The giant stone head of King Amenhotep III is 2.5 meters high and is a portrait of the king with very youthful features. The head has double crowns, which represent the unification of the Upper and Lower Egypt. The upper crown of ancient Egyptian kings was white with the lower crown being red. In essence, the king was the symbol of the unification of the ‘two lands’ (Kuhrt 125). Egyptian art for kings was usually slightly different from that of normal people. Most sculptures portrayed majestic frontal view figures of the king seated. This portrayed an image of tranquility and authority (Wilder 61). Ancient Egyptian art underwent significant changes between the old, middle and new kingdom. The old kingdom art comprised of majestic sitting or standing sculptures. Most of the art from this period shows...

Importance of Music in Society

...“A well-rounded education is simply too vital to our students’ success to let the teaching of the arts and humanities erode.” -Secretary Duncan When thinking about the arts, including that of performing arts and music, we tend to glide over the subjects, and term it as a good “hobby,” and not something that can shape and mold a person into someone the community can benefit off of. Many have found these arts to be therapeutic, and a good way to escape from the temptations of doing wrong. In turn, the community itself has had an advantage. The streets are clear from loitering, theft, vandalism etc, and now are looking at a better community in which the individuals, who make up part of it, are actively trying to improve the community and not to harm it. The individual themselves, has become more aware of themselves and of those around them. They have become more appreciative of the arts, and understand different subjects better than individuals who have not been exposed to the arts. Art as it is now is still as beautiful as it was back in the renaissance time period. The only thing that has changed is the importance of it. It is also the first thing one may think of when referring to the “arts.” Although there are many different forms of art, the visual drawing is just as important as the different branches. Art has the ability through different Medias, but as murals especially to tell someone who is not familiar...

Humanism And Renaissance Art Change Europe

...Humanism, the printing press and the Renaissance art change Europe in many ways. The printing press encouraged people to get the Bible in their language and read about God. Humanism encouraged people to want freedom of religion, and the Renaissance art changed the way people viewed art. Everything caused a new problem. The printing press was a way to copy books. They translated the bible and copied them into everyday languages. This made people want to learn more about god. Now anyone could get a bible in their own language and read about god and his history. This also encouraged people to learn how to read and maybe write their own books. Humanism opened people’s eyes to make their own decisions. They then wanted freedom of religion. Humanism...
