In order to discuss and explain the link between strategic management and leadership we need first to explain the definition of strategic management and Leadership, then show how there is a link between them. What is management?
Management is the science of getting things done through other people generally by organizing and directing the activities on the job and to use available resources in an effective and efficient way to achieve the organization objectives.
This is a general definition of management but there are different functions and levels of management, each function defined differently according to the level of management (operational manager, tactical managers, strategic managers, etc.).
For examples:
Operational management refers to the administration of business practices to create the high level of efficiency in achieving the organization goals.
Tactical management refers to the process of selecting the appropriate ways to achieve the strategic plan in other meaning it allows manager to choose the best method depends of the situation rather than following a particular or a standard procedure
Strategic management is the set of actions used to formulate and implement specific strategies that would achieve the organization goals that include the vision and mission of the company and looking at the higher basics of the company like the things the organization want to achieve, it’s about answering 3 questions: 1- What are we? Answering this question require making analysis for the situations
