The Long-Term Care System is constantly changing; action is necessary not only for the future elderly population, but also for those currently in need, both under and over age 65. This research paper will mainly focus and point out two main concerns within the long-term care system. First issue will be discussed on how to develop a vision of a better, more responsive long-term care system and the policies to promote it. Then the second issue will clarify on financing and delivery options. Services are provided including adult day care centers, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospice and Home Health Care. Adult Day Care is used to relieve the caregiver usually their son or daughter from or his or her duties for the day while ensuring …show more content…
A method to staying in business would be to get rid of the old nursing home stuff and create an environment of brilliant experiences. Starting off from the food they provide and eat in these assisted living facilities and nursing homes as well as the staff that serve and help the residents. Not to mention the therapies and actives provided for them to entertain themselves during the day. As noted above, culture change is a huge piece of the long-term care puzzle; it helps improve relationships between the staff and those they serve. Also, it’s essential for the care workers to have a decent amount of people to help serve their needs. A policy would have to be in place instead of having 50-60 people all in one group, we would divide the groups into smaller groups to create a friendlier environment. Patients/residents will then get to see a familiar face and tend to build a stronger bond with one another. Care for the residents means more then treatment of a disease, they are at a point of life where they rely on their caregivers for the quality of every aspect of their lives. His responsibility was to reduce the costs of health care for individuals and the government. However, his plan backfired when he required businesses to provide coverage or pay fines as their consequences. Companies instead just demoted the full time employees to a part time employee or just fired them to solve their issue. That didn't really help because employees were left with no insurance.
