When a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer she may start to lose her life and strength, so she tend to look at life as if it is useless. A woman with breast cancer will cause her to feel awful, but through having the support of family and friends, chemo therapy and inspiring thoughts, they can emotionally heal and get through the important exams. It may be hard for her to go through life with this sickness and to think positive about herself, but if she gets the moral and support she needs from family and friends then she wouldn’t look at life as a total lost. Programs based on mastery learning principles operate today in nations throughout the world and at every level of education. When compared to traditionally taught classes, students in mastery learning classes consistently have been shown to learn better, reach higher levels of achievement, and develop greater confidence in their ability to learn and in themselves as learners (Guskey, 1997, 2001). This often can get us down on ourselves and make it hard to accomplish our goals. Mastery (The book) helps you better see that mastery is not a finite action or something that is achieved overnight. I learned a great deal from some of the insights and I will aim to focus on the principals in this book that matter most to me and I could use, later in life. George Leonard, was a man of great skill and insight. He used his understanding of Aikido to attach the internal needs we strive for to achieve mastery. It is a book filled with ways to keep on working and persisting to gain the mastery of anything. One of the first lessons I learned from reading this book was to understand myself. I needed to ask myself, what kind of person I was in my desire to master something. When he discusses the path of endless climax, I can sometimes find myself feeling that “need for speed” per say.
