In the fictional novel, “The Metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka, a character by the name of Gregor lives a life full of dependability and stress; a lifestyle I would find exasperating. Gregor becomes the foundation of his family, holding them all up. Gregor works as a traveling salesmen in order to support and provide for his family. Although Gregor dreads his job, he still feels obligated to go to pay off his father’s debt. This provokes a bothersome lifestyle, full of pressure. Considering Gregor's strenuous lifestyle and his family's excessive dependence on him, Gregor is better off dead.
