In general every house contains many kinds of technology and in particular every single kid's room has more than one device for video games. Numerous contemporary video games contain overtly sexual stereotyping to make the games more thrilling and entertaining, but unfortunately this approach can be a reason why children's minds become brainwashed to think in a certain way. According to Brenick et al. (2007) 41 male and 46 female were exposed to gender stereotypes and to violence in video games, the results suggest that male who were avid players were more likely to condone negative stereotypes in games that sexually exploited. In other words, there is a direct relation between media and sexual stereotypes. Further, the more children play video games, the more likely they will be exposed to gender stereotyping. Of course, sexual stereotyping affects negatively on children's and adolescents' behavior, but that is not the only thing that can be harmful for …show more content…
Usually parents dream to see their children graduating with a high GPA. An excellent GPA underpins graduates to get their dream job with a fantastic salary. Parents believe that if their children are playing video games for a long time without any limit, they will be caught inside a never ending circle of poor academic performance. Norcia (2014) says a 2004 study by Gentile, Lynch, Linder and Walsh found that teens who play violent video games for extended periods of time are more prone to confrontation with their teachers and see a decline in school achievements. In brief, violent video games make students disrespect and disregard their teachers, which will eventually lead to a decline in academic performance. Of course, that is one reason of why students get bad grades in school. Again, students forget everything surrounding them when they are playing electronic games. Electronic games have the ability to steal students' attention even from themselves and that leads to creating a person who is unable to manage time. Thus all these results contribute to the decline of academic performance. A corresponding factor to the effects of video games besides bad conduct and academic performance is poor social

...The Negative Effects of Video Games on Young Children The adoption of video games into modern culture has increased dramatically as technology has advanced over time. Early video games began as text based adventures often with few crude graphics but still had a cult like following of the few who had access to them. As technology improved video games began to be mass marketed to users of new video game console and personal computer systems. Thus began the integration of gaming into the everyday lives of people around the globe in what would become a multibillion dollar industry. The Negative Effects of Violent Video Games on Youth

...The negative effects of violent video games on children and teenagers Since the advent of coin operated arcade games, video games have come a long way and spread to the homes of many children and teenagers, in both developed and developing countries (Bryant & Vorderer, 2006). On one hand, the fierce competitions among the gaming giants such as Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft can be blamed for this phenomenon; while on the other hand, the internet alone is responsible for placing a universe full of games at arms reach of anyone with a computer and a decent internet connection. However, many games are not suitable for certain age groups. These include games which contain material that is explicit in either the lyrics of its songs, its bloody and gory action scenes, or even scenes that are considered borderline pornographic (in the game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the main character can enter strip clubs and receive lap dances) (Allofgta, 2008). Usually, many of the games containing significant amounts of violence are designed for mature audiences; nevertheless, their popularity among teenagers and children, who ironically constitute the largest contributors to the profits reaped from these games, is always on the rise. In Lebanon and many other countries in the middle east, no video game rating system or law exists, which allows children and teenagers to buy any game they want. Consequently, as Vorderer and Bryant explain (2006), "young video game players may be exposed to substantially...
