You're so hypnotizing
Could you be the devil? Could you be an angel?
Your touch magnetizing
Feels like I am floating, leaves my body glowing

They say be afraid
You're not like the others, futuristic lover
Different DNA
They don't understand you

You're from a whole other world
A different dimension
You open my eyes
And I'm ready to go, lead me into the light

Kiss me, ki-ki-kiss me
Infect me with your love and
Fill me with your poison

Take me, ta-ta-take me
Wanna be a victim
Ready for abduction

Boy, you're an alien
Your touch so foreign
It's supernatural
Extraterrestrial

You're so supersonic
Wanna feel your powers, stun me with your lasers
Your kiss is cosmic
Every move is magic

You're from a whole other world
A different dimension
You open my eyes
And I'm ready to go, lead me into the light

Kiss me, ki-ki-kiss me
[ From: http://www.metrolyrics.com/et-lyrics-katy-perry.html ]
Infect me with your love and
Fill me with your poison

Take me, ta-ta-take me
Wanna be a victim
Ready for abduction

Boy, you're an alien
Your touch so foreign
It's supernatural
Extraterrestrial

This is transcendental
On another level
Boy, you're my lucky star

I wanna walk on your wavelength
And be there when you vibrate
For you I'll risk it all

Kiss me, ki-ki-kiss me
Infect me with your love and
Fill me with your poison

Take me, ta-ta-take me
Wanna be a victim
Ready for abduction

Boy, you're an alien
Your touch so foreign
It's supernatural
Extraterrestrial, extraterrestrial, extraterrestrial

Boy, you're an alien
Your touch so foreign
It's supernatural
Extraterrestrial

The One That Got Away

...years to the early Celts in Ireland! A long time ago, the Celtics believed that Summer ended on October 31. So to get prepared for the end of the season of harvest or life and get ready for the season of death they celebrated Samhain. They believed that on this day the gap between the living and the dead was thinnest and that ghost and ferries could easily cross over. The Celtics would leave food at their doors to keep ghosts at bay and would wear costumes to “blend in” with the dead spirits. This is where we get our costumes today. They believed dressing up would honor the good spirits and keep away the bad ones. Sometime around the 8th century Pope Gregory the 4th merged All Saint’s day with the same day as Samhain and merged the traditions. One of the being children going door to door asking for baked cakes in return of praying for the other person’s dead family in purgatory. Another one was called “guising” wear people would wear masks and go door to door dancing and singing in return for food and wine. Does this sound a little familiar? In early America, Halloween wasn’t really celebrated because of the Puritan beliefs but with the...

The One That Got Away

...An essential part of the hiring process is the interview. Potential new hires are usually aware of the importance of the interview, the significance of making a good first impression, and the need to come into an interview completely prepared. However, the interview is a two-way street, and unfortunately some managers/supervisors do not come into interviews with the same degree of preparedness and professionalism as the interviewee. "The One That Got Away" is about Dennis, the dining-room manager of a coffee shop within a large hotel. Dennis receives a drop-in application from Donna, a potential candidate for a waitress position. Instead of scheduling an interview for a more convenient time or asking Donna to please come back during the posted interview times, Dennis decides to interview Donna in the dining room on the spot. This case study fills the reader in on Dennis's biases against hiring married women with children prior to his interview with Donna. After Dennis gets one of his employees to temporarily take over his hosting duties he sits down with Donna at a table close to the door so he can keep an eye on things while he interviews her. He begins by looking over her application, but is interrupted numerous times by other employees and leaves the interview to attend to the problems. Although he is impressed by Donna's resume, he is never able to have a complete uninterrupted conversation with her. Dennis also asks inappropriate questions to Donna......

The One That Got Away

...Citation: Grych, J. H., & Fincham, F. D. (1993). Children's appraisals of marital conflict: Initial investigation of the cognitive-contextual framework. Child Development, 64,215 - 230. Hypothesis: Children's conflict appraisals guide their coping responses. In particular, deciding whether or not to intervene in the conflict will be strongly influenced by children's interpretations. For example, children who believe that they are at fault for causing a disagreement may then feel responsible for resolving the dispute, and thus attributions of self-blame are likely to lead to children's involvement in the conflict. Fearing for the safety of one parent also may promote intervention, whereas perceiving a high level of threat to the self may lead children to avoid intervening in a disagreement. Whether they involve themselves in a conflict also depends on children's coping efficacy, which in turn is shaped by prior experiences in the family. (a) children's appraisals are systematically related to specific dimensions (intensity and content) of marital conflict. 1. It was predicted that high-intensity conflict would be viewed as more likely to escalate than low-intensity conflict, and that child-related conflict would be perceived as more likely to involve the child than nonchild-related conflict. 2. Children who blame themselves for conflict are likely to elicit self-blame than non-child-related content. No specific hypotheses were made for the effect of conflict......

...mine has an interesting take on what he calls “annoying interview questions” – and that includes questions about where you see yourself five years from now. (Others are about your greatest strength or weakness.) While there’s certainly no one “right” answer for a question like that, some approaches work better than others.  OSE ANNOYING INTERVIEW QUESTIONS by L. Bosco Interviews are a pain in the neck! Ideally you want to see if there’s a good fit between you and the employer. But most interviews are full of those “pat questions” that have been written up endlessly in books and even on blogs where so-called experts give job applicants handy-dandy “pat answers” to those over-used “pat questions.” So basically both sides could just as well e-mail in their parts and save everyone a lot of time. It’s a rare interviewer who knows how to create a really informative interview. So job seekers must still sit through these often painful interviews (some where the interviewer is barely listening) and be prepared to answer these same silly questions: What is your greatest weakness? What are your strengths? How would you handle an angry customer? And, my personal not-favorite: “Where do you want to be in 5 years?” I always want to answer that last one with something like “living in Bora Bora on my lotto winnings” or “King of Siam” or at least “Sophia’s latest lover.” (The name mentioned to be filled in by you based on your own gender, age, preferences, and imagination.) And I'll say, "Just fine" I always forget to tell you I love you I'll love you forever I watched Superman fly away You've got a busy day today Go save the world I'll be around I watched Superman fly away Come back, I'll be with you someday I'll be right here on the ground When you come back down Tall, dark and beautiful He's complicated, he's irrational But I hope someday he'll take me away And save the day, yeah Something in his deep brown eyes has me saying He's not all bad like his reputation And I can't hear one single word they say And you'll leave, got places to be And I'll be okay I always forget to tell you I love you I loved you from the very first day I watched Superman fly away You've got a busy day today Go save the world I'll be around And I watched Superman fly away Come back, I'll be with you someday I'll be right here on the ground When you come back down And I watch you fly around the world And I hope you don't chase another girl Don't forget, don't forget about me I'm far away, but I'll never let you go I'm lovestruck and looking out the window Don't forget, don't forget where I'll be Right here wishing......

Life Line

...differences between my lifeline and my family members. I think that some of the differences are due to the era that we were each brought up in and what is considered to be the norm for that time frame. Most of the life events that we all three experienced are normative events, such as getting married, having a job, moving out of our parents’ house, and having children. In addition to the normative events, there are also some nonnormative events. These include divorce, going to college later in life, and not finishing high school. A difference between the three of us is the education level. My grandmother was expected to quit school so she was able to take care of her house and her children. My mother finished high school and then got a job right away. A lot jobs did not require a college education back then. Even though I did not start college until I was in my...

Of Mice and Men

...other characters who absolutely suffer in life because of their endless loneliness. Lennie and George are the two main characters that come along the book with the great friendship between them. These two guys have been together for such a long time since their childhood and are now travelling around the country together to find themselves a ranch to work. The most interesting thing about these two good friends is when we look at both their appearances and characteristic features George is "small and quick, dark of face, with restless eyes and sharp, strong features. Every part of him was defined: small, strong hands splender harms a thin and bony nose." P4. George is also a clever and alert man who could detect the danger coming from a mile away. But on the other side Lennie is "a hug man, shapeless of face, with large eyes, with wide, sloping shoulders." p4 Lennie is also a simple man; his brain is as simple as a little kid's brain. He can't even remember his own aunt Clara. Sometimes he can't understand what other people are trying to say and he repeats his words couple of times when he talks to someone. Lennie is not aware of any thing that could possibly cause him trouble or hurt him. Lennie is also the kind of forgetful person who just forgets about everything that you told him even ten times before. The only thing that he never forgets is the rabbits that he wants to tend more than...

Orwell, George - Shooting an Elephant Original

...IN Moulmein, in lower Burma, I was hated by large numbers of people—the only time in my life that I have been important enough for this to happen to me. I was sub-divisional police officer of the town, and in an aimless, petty kind of way anti-European feeling was very bitter. No one had the guts to raise a riot, but if a European woman went through the bazaars alone somebody would probably spit betel juice over her dress. As a police officer I was an obvious target and was baited whenever it seemed safe to do so. When a nimble Burman tripped me up on the football field and the referee (another Burman) looked the other way, the crowd yelled with hideous laughter. This happened more than once. In the end the sneering yellow faces of young men that met me everywhere, the insults hooted after me when I was at a safe distance, got badly on my nerves. The young Buddhist priests were the worst of all. There were several thousands of them in the town and none of them seemed to have anything to do except stand on street corners and jeer at Europeans. All this was perplexing and upsetting. For at that time I had already made up my mind that imperialism was an evil thing and the sooner I chucked up my job and got out of it the better. Theoretically—and secretly, of course—I was all for the Burmese and all against their oppressors, the British. As for the job I was doing, I hated it more bitterly than I can perhaps make clear. In a job like that you see the dirty work of Empire at......

One of the message said, Who’s up for a coffee?, Beatriz instantly replied the text message writing see you at Kenzie’s in ten. I asked Beatriz how they do it every day, how the logistics work and if they have the same routine every day. The Problem with Medical College Exams

...As a medical student I have many reasons to believe that I am not just another medical student often portrayed as a nerdy, focused, dedicated person. Here is my story of immense struggle, pain, humor and confusion. “Philosophy! Yes that’s what I want to do after finishing school!”- I announced with pride and an intellectual air, sensing almost a discovery of sorts, discovery of my true passion and interest based on my convictions, ideas and daily thought process. Studying for entrance seemed too much of a headache- with all the cramming involved and so much more! Moreover the idea of studying in a medical college didn’t fascinate me anymore. The reason why I opted for biology in the 11th grade was because I was planning on studying for the premedical tests but I was just 15 then, realizing that I didn’t want to become a doctor but a philosopher at 16 sounded plausible and reasonable to me. “What?” mom replied back, almost choosing to ignore what I had just said. “I want to do a course in philosophy,” I repeated myself. “Be serious! Anyway you can do whatever you want after you become a doctor,” mom said almost forcibly, so not interested in what I was putting across to her. “Umm, no but philosophy is what really interests me and I am pretty sure about that.” “You are ruining your life and ours too. What do you want to do? Mop the floors? You have taken up biology! Don’t talk like those art students! You are seeking escape from hard work. Nothing in this life comes easy....
