27 years ago when the current regime went to power it divided the country it to the so-called regions based up on their ethnicity. Taken ethnicity as the only criteria for the political restructuring, TPLF divided the country into nine regional states. Each regional state bears the name of the dominant ethnic group regardless of the presence of minorities but neither the people nor their representative has the made to negotiation about then naming and boarder of each religion, TPLF just decided about everything. Almost all of the ethnic based regions were forced to use local language to prevent extra-region communications. Then TPLF created a local Parties affiliated to it as a correlation to form EPRDF. Most of the leaders of the region has no real power as TPLF tries to weaken them by extraordinary interference. Doing this, TPLF’s agenda was to control the economy, military, intelligence and other key parts of the federal government as regions strangles to find their identity.

It is absolutely difficult for any private company to compete with EFFORT in Ethiopia. TPLF have eliminated all the fair competition channels, for example, while companies struggle with import, export and revenue tax, companies under EFFORT are barely expected to pay any tax.
