The Relationship between Privet and Public Police
When it comes down to it both privet and public police are important to society as a whole. They are both provided security and protection, whether it’s to a company or to the public at large. They are also both responsible for deterring crime in their own areas. Now the relationship between the two has been the topic of a lot of discussions over the years, some good but mostly it is viewed in a negative light. These are some of the topics that I will be looking into farther in this paper.
As law enforcement agencies are charge with protecting the public, you could say that they focus more on arrest then they do on preventing the crime from happening in the first place. This would be wrong. After taking my policing class I know that there are models set in place that are for preventing crime as well as arresting criminals.
Now we have to keep in mind that there are three different levels to law enforcement agencies. They range from local counties all the way up to state and federal levels. Communities are dependent of these agencies to conduct and perform many different roles and functions. Now it is important to note that all law enforcement agencies perform the same basic duties and responsibilities, which are, maintain law and order, provide community assistance, and investigate crimes. There are also agencies that function in a specific jurisdictions and/ or provides a specialized function in a specific jurisdiction. All these different agencies/ departments work together to protect citizens, prevent crime, and solve crimes within their community.
Now private security is more interested in the protection of private property than police are. They focus on the protection of not only the

...P5- explain the strategies and methods that can be used to support children, young people and their families where abuse is suspected or confirmed. There are many factors that could lead the individual to suspect a child to be abused. These factors could be s howed through the individuals apprentice or the way in which they act. Health professionals use a variety of strategies and responses to help and support children and young people. For example if an individual’s self-esteem, confidence and resilience is low there become more vurable and at target for abuse. Whereas if a child or a young person has high self-esteem they will confident and less likely to be a target of abuse they are more likely to be talkative and notice that they are becoming a target of abuse. A child or young person with low self-esteem will be vulnerable as they are less likely speak out. To address this health and social care professionals should make the individuals feel valued and the child or young person should be aware and reminded of the qualities they have. This strategy would be appropriate in some situations but not others for example if an individual is beginning to act out at school this could be a clear sign there self esteem is quite low as they are putting a front on rather than showing weakness, by addressing this low self esteem individuals will begin to feel better about them self and express there feelings. The more we work on an individual self esteem the less likely they...

Unit 11

...P3: Adults at risk: There are certain groups of people who appear to be more vulnerable to or at risk of abuse than others. They tend to be individuals with physical or learning difficulties or mental health problems. This can also include elder individuals who maybe suffering from dementia because they are in a confused state. Individuals in this group ten to be more accepting in what happens them, this could be because of their strong medication they may be taking. Individuals with a limited social networks and have low self-esteem as a result they would become dependent on their abusers or potential abusers being abused often see it as their fault and there’s nothing they can do about it, so they keep quiet and just put up with it. An example of an adult at risk of abuse id Sarah, she is 40 years old and has mild learning difficulties, she also lives alone but she has a career that comes to visit her at least 3 times a week. Her career often comes and calls her names and pushes her, Sarah hasn’t told anyone because she thinks it is her fault, because she is being annoying and this is why the career is being horrible to her. Contexts: People who are dependent on other for personal care sometimes live alone and depend on the career can make individuals very isolated and they find that their main contact with the outside world is through their career. ...Acclaim for Chuck Palahniuk’s Choke “Just as dark and outrageous as his previous work. … His voice is so distinctive that he exists as a genre unto himself.” —The Washington Post “Palahniuk’s language is urgent and tense, touched with psychopathic brilliance, his images dead-on accurate. … [He] is an author who makes full use of the alchemical powers of fiction to synthesize a universe that mirrors our own fiction as a way of illuminating the world without obliterating its complexity.” —LA Weekly “Puts a bleakly humorous spin on self-help, addiction recovery, and childhood trauma. … Choke’s funny, mantra-like prose plows toward the mayhem it portends from the get-go.” —The Village Voice “Oddly, defiantly, addictive.” happily —Daily News “[Choke] shines a flashlight into America’s dark corners. … As darkly comic and starkly terrifying as your high school yearbook photo.” —GQ “Palahniuk is a gifted writer, and the novel is full of terrific lines.” —The New York Times Book Review “[Palahniuk’s] most enduring trait … is that marvelous quicksilver voice of his. … The exuberance of his language makes it still worthwhile to brave these often chilly and dark waters.” —The Oregonian “Choke is another welcome antidote to antiseptic consumer life, and you can’t blame it for grabbing you by the throat.” —Maxim “Palahniuk is a cult writer in the truest sense.” —Entertainment Weekly “His subversive riffs conjure a kind of jump-cut cinema of the diseased imagination, resulting...
