The Secret of the Success Have you ever thought about the sport that can teach you the most important points of your life? Actually, many people are not interested in sports, or they just like to watch soccer. But people should be interested in any other sport because it can teach something to shape their life. Besides, they can reach their dream. For example, I started to watch tennis a few years ago, and I learnt some tips to achieve my purpose. I took some tennis players as a role model, and I adapted their techniques as a purpose. In this way, I learnt how I can concentrate to do something, and I have to follow my goals. It taught me how I can concentrate to do something. First of all, when I started to watch tennis, players’ concentration affected me because they seemed very concentrated. I taught that how they can do it, and I understood it by the time. They always feel isolated during the tennis match. Actually, there are a lot of people, but they are very quiet. So tennis players can feel alone during the match. Second they always find a good point in their games, and they usually start with a movie that they can do best. Nevertheless, each player has a good technique to win the match. Moreover, they always play from easy to difficult because they want to make sure their games. Therefore, I decided to use their techniques in my life. When I have an exam, I always try to feel isolated and alone to concentrate. Also, I usually start with a question that I can do best, and I continue from easy to difficult. I also learnt that I have to follow my goals. This is very important point because people live to achieve their goals. Consequently, each people need to have a purpose like tennis players because they always have a goal as to be the number of the world. Nevertheless, their goals are realizable for themselves, and they are very patient to make them true. So they overcome barriers. For example, my favorite tennis player is Roger Federer. When he encounters a health problem, he never backs down. He has self-confidence, so he tries to overcome it. When he does not accomplish something, he exerts to do it. In the end of, he succeeds it. I took him as a role model, and I followed his techniques to achieve my goals. Now, I am still trying to do something like him, and I also believe myself. I am sure that I will be like him. As a result, people should be interested in sports because they can learn some important tips to evaluate their life. Maybe they find their survival object. Also, I found some tips for myself, and I learnt that the best ways to achieve my goals are to concentrate carefully.

Secret to Success

...Secret to Success Personally I have never felt that there are any secrets to success. Have you ever heard of any successful man who didn’t tell you about it? In my opinion, I believe that every success is lead by hard work and the ability to stay undeterred despite slight failures. Such attitudes are the reason why I succeeded too, in a way… Besides the achiever himself, there are always other personalities who guide him to success. These people are equally important as self capability. I had such people to guide me too. Those would include my parents, my teachers. (I do owe them a lot. Simply put, my achievement is a result of their hard work to put me on the right path, towards academic achievement rather than my own.) Without them, there wouldn’t have been anything worth a praise printed onto my results slip and I wouldn’t be writing this at the moment. Apart from the adults who played vital roles in my life. My peers also share a part in helping me to achieve what I did. They were constantly supportive and they were always there when I was distracted by failure, to motivate me and to keep me pumped-up to face the worst. Such were the secrets behind my success but honestly, do you really believe there are secrets to success? Well, think again. My wishes to the future achievers and hopefully your results are better than mine. P.S. If there ever is a shortcut to success, please inform me...

Secrets to Success

...If we possess a high level of gratitude, we often feel an emotional sense of wonder, thankfulness and appreciation for life itself. In Martin Seligman’s article Secrets to Success, he defines gratitude as “appreciating and thanking the people who have made positive contributions to your life” (285). I agree with this suggestion because individuals who exhibit and express the most gratitude are happier, healthier, and more energetic. In addition, gratitude, a key to happiness, can help build social bonds, strengthening existing relationships, and nurturing new ones. Think of it as this way, life is like a chain and we must keep the links strong. When we pass the kindness and wisdom on to another, it makes all of us stronger. There is nothing more powerful than an inspiring movie that leaves you wanting to be your best and try a little harder tomorrow. In the film The Pursuit of Happyness, Will Smith who portrays as Chris Gardner said, “Don’t ever let somebody tell you you can’t do something. Not even me. You got a dream, you gotta protect it. People can’t do somethin’ themselves, they wanna tell you you can’t do it. If you want somethin’, go get it. Period.” According to this inspiring quote, our path isn’t a simple one; it zigs and zags to many directions. When we set out a goal we are committed to accomplish, we will make lots of sacrifices in order to reach it. To add on, there will be people who will tell us it is a bad idea or that we cannot do it; however, it......

Secrets to Success

...Secrets to success It has been argued in different avenues that the meaning of success is relative. To some it means being rich, having a happy family, having a well paying job, owning a blue-chip company (The list is endless). The best meaning of Success that I have come across is that "Success is the completion of anything intended." In other words success is finishing what you planned to do. From this, success doesn’t necessarily mean being number one; it means achieving your target within the intended timeframe. The difference between those who succeed in life and those who fail are neither the number of shipwrecks nor the severity of the storms. The difference is in their persistence. It takes persistence to complete the journey. Success is a process. It is an incessant refinement of strategy until something finally works. Success starts with goal setting, and then goal setting is followed by action. Neither your goal setting theory nor your actions have to be perfect. A key to success is to start anywhere; over time, your vision will clear and your actions improve. Some say that success in any profession is due to luck, chance and hard work. There is nothing further from the truth. Many people work incredibly hard and put in long hours, but they are not successful. Hard work certainly contributes to success, but hard work alone will not make you a "top dog" in your trade or profession. So, what is the secret of success? Is it due to luck or chance? Is it due...

...THE SECRET OF SUCCESS Be aware and apply the Seven (7) habits of effective people • Be Proactive Take initiative in life by realizing that your decisions (and how they align with life's principles) are the primary determining factor for effectiveness in your life. Take responsibility for your choices and the consequences that follow. Begin with the End in Mind Self-discover and clarify your deeply important character values and life goals. Envision the ideal characteristics for each of your various roles and relationships in life. Put First Things First A manager must manage his own person. Personally. And managers should implement activities that aim to reach the second habit. Covey says that rule two is the mental creation; rule three is the physical creation. Think Win-Win Genuinely strive for mutually beneficial solutions or agreements in your relationships. Value and respect people by understanding a "win" for all is ultimately a better long-term resolution than if only one person in the situation had got his way. Synergize Combine the strengths of people through positive teamwork, so as to achieve goals no one person could have done alone. Sharpen the Saw Balance and renew your resources, energy, and health to create a sustainable, long-term, effective lifestyle. Diversification Strategies: the Secret of Southwest Airlines" Success

...Assignment 2: Diversification Strategies “The Secret of Southwest Airlines’ Success” BUS 508, Contemporary Business Determine how Southwest Airlines’ corporate culture differs from other airlines: From the time Herb Kelleher co-founded Southwest Airlines in 1971 his goal was to establish a company that cared about its employees, who would in turn care about and service the needs of their customers with pride. Southwest has created a fun-loving work environment that rewards and appreciates unique personalities and how they can enhance the customer service experience of their patrons. This is refreshing in today’s market and the main difference between Southwest and other airlines. The mission of Southwest Airlines is to ensure satisfaction of their internal as well as their external customers. The external, of course, being the traveler and the employee is viewed as an internal customer. Externally, Southwest focuses on customer service, delivered with “a sense of warmth, friendliness, individual pride, and company spirit.” Customer service is number one (#1) for this airline. It is displayed in their every movement. The airline’s president, Collen Barrett is quoted as saying, “Southwest likes to think of itself as a customer service organization that happens to fly airplanes.”(Smith, 2004) The airline is dedicated to their customers. When other airlines felt the economy crunch and decided to start charging customers to check bags, Southwest refused to......

Paths to Success

...Paths to success There are different paths and many theories that are helpful to get success. This paper discusses different paths of success such as 10,000 hour rule, Tiger mom and Tim Ferriss. It also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of each success method. 10,000 Hour Rule: According to this rule, brain takes 10,000 hours to assimilate all that it needs to achieve true mastery. In views of Heshmat, (2011), the 10,000 hours rule translated into practicing 3 hours a day for 10 years, which is indeed a common training span for young people in sports. This rule suggested that success is the result of accumulative advantages. It is a function of persistence and willingness to work hard. It is because it is difficult to carry out any long-range plan and achievement of any difficult goal, unless people can make themselves persist at it. Advantage: The main advantage of 10,000 hour rule is that it leads to the perfection of people. It is because after spending 10,000 hours on a particular task, individuals build necessary skills and competencies that are necessary to do the job in a perfect way (Bell, 2010). Disadvantage: The main disadvantage of this theory is that it takes a long-term view of getting success. Concurrently, this rule also not describes the performance of a person, who spends less than 10,000 hours to a particular job (Martin, 2011). It also limits the growth of an individual, as he/she focus on a particular job for 10,000......

Victoria Secret

...Silky Strategy of Victoria’s Secret Chelsea Chi Chang Alice Lin Charlene Mak BEM 106: Strategy Professor McAfee 28 May 2004 1 Victoria's Secret is a retail brand of lingerie and beauty products, owned and run by the Limited Brands company. Victoria’s Secret generates more than $4 billion in sales a year. It is the fastest growing subsidiary of Limited Brands and contributes 42% of corporate profits. More than 1000 Victoria's Secret retail stores are open in the United States. Products are also available through the catalogue and online business, Victoria's Secret Direct, with sales of approximately $870 million. Victoria’s Secret was established by Roy Raymond in the San Francisco area during the 1970s. Raymond saw an opportunity in taking “underwear” of the time and turning it into fashion. Products stood apart from the traditional white cotton pieces, which department stores offered, with colors, patterns and style that gave them more allure and sexiness. They combined European elegance and luxury. Even the name Victoria’s Secret was meant to conjure up images of 19th-century England. The store went so far as to list a fake London address for the company headquarters. Like Starbucks, Victoria’s Secret markets self-indulgence at an affordable price. By 1982, Raymond had opened six stores and launched a modest catalog operation. He then sold Victoria’s Secret to Limited Brands, which took Victoria’s and sprinted away. Today, Victoria’s Secret enjoys nearly a......
