Her grandpa is always telling invented stories by himself using things from the past and from the present. One day Carla was very sick and her grandpa to cheer her begins to tell her one of his stories because she liked them a lot.
In a kingdom far away, on the outskirts of a town called Stone, because it was where you could find the most beautiful stones in the whole country, was celebrating the birth of the new heir to the throne, he was confirmed Marc, and also the birth of heir to the throne of the kingdom ally, called Lucero. The king and queen invited all the kings of other kingdoms.
But at the same time had given birth the wife of a farmer in Stone town, and had a beautiful girl called Aurora, but were worried because now he was the only one able to work because his wife had to care of the child and they were a very poor family.
Twenty years later, was the birthday of Aurora, Marc and Lucero. Aurora's parents promised her that by the time she was twenty, they would have the money she need so she could go to study in one of the best schools in the kingdom. And at the same time the father of Marc was planning Marc’s marriage with Lucero. But Marc didn’t want to marry Lucero because he didn’t love her at all. A few days later, Aurora's parents gave her the money that she hoped, that both of her parents had to work very hard to have it all. The following Monday she went very happy to school and accidentally runs into Marc and fall all her books. He helps her to pick up the books and Lucero see that, which also was going to that school, and goes and asks Aurora:
"You’re new?"
And Aurora replied:
"Yes, why?"
And that's when Marc says:
"Can I see the classes you have"
And Aurora gives him the schedule, and Marc said with joy:
"You have all of them with me"
"Oh good!" Aurora replied.
And the bell rings, and Marc shows her where the class is and at the same time goes explaining her the operation of the school and the school rules and let Lucero dumped. Lucero begins to hate Aurora.
Aurora comes to class and the teacher presents Aurora to the whole class and the teacher tells her to sit on the empty seat that was just next to Marc .Then the teacher starts the class and asks Aurora if she had read the book he was showing which was the "Thousand and one night" because it was a literature class. Aurora was so nervous because Marc was sitting next to her and more because she liked him, did not respond and the whole class laughed at her.
The bell had already rang and Marc asked if he could take her to her home but she said no because all the people that was going to that school were rich and she was poor and was afraid that he disillusioned him by knowing that she was poor. Marc that day fall completely in love with Aurora. That day Marc talks to his father and tells him that he was not going to marry Lucero because he didn’t love her. And his father told him that if he brings the day of the dance a girl that he really is in love then he is going to suspend the wedding. Weeks later Aurora and Marc were boyfriend and girlfriend. And what Marc liked about Aurora was that she didn’t care that he was rich or a prince because she loved him for who he was.
The day of the dance arrived and with her savings she buy the most beautiful dress that she has never seen. When she arrived to the dance she was the most beautiful girl in the dance. Everybody stared at her and she was kind of nervous but then she saw Marc and went toward him and saw him with Lucero because Aurora arrived late at the dance so Marc thought that she wasn’t going to come and also his dad only gave him to ten o’clock and Aurora arrived at twelve o’clock and the dance started at eight o’clock. Aurora ran away and Marc saw her and followed her to explain her what happen but he couldn’t reach her.
Aurora arrived to her home crying and her mom saw her and asked her,
“What happened?”
“He mocked me” Aurora responds.
“Who mocked you?” Aurora’s mom asked. “Marc!” Aurora responds.
“But he loves you” Aurora’s mom said.
“But maybe not so much” Aurora said.
“But why are you saying that?” Aurora’s mom asked.
“I saw him with Lucero” Aurora respond.
“But probably he has an explanation to what happened” Aurora’s mom replied. “Did you let him explain you?”
“No” Aurora respond.
“Ok then let him explain you” Aurora’s mom said. “And then make your decision but make it right because I don’t want you crying everywhere just because you didn’t let him explain you”.
“Tomorrow go and talk to him, ok?” Aurora’s mom said.
“Ok” Aurora said.
“Ok, go to sleep so you could rest and be ready for tomorrow because this was a long day” Aurora’s mom said.
The next day, in the school Marc saw Aurora and called her. Aurora looked back and said,
“What?”
“Let me explain you what happened” Marc said. “Please!”
“Ok, I will give you five minutes” Aurora said.
“Thank you” Marc replied.
And Marc explained everything to Aurora and Aurora understood and she forgave him.
Months later, Aurora's father is sick of the cholera, and she needs a large sum of money so her father could be attend it by the best doctor in the city and the only person who could help her was Marc because apart from that he was her boyfriend and her best friend also he had the money she needed to help her father cure form that illness.
The next day she asks Marc, “Could you lend me 40,000 that I need and I promise you I’m going to pay you back but at this time I have the money in the bank and I can’t get because has to be my father the one who can remove it.”
Meanwhile Lucero was listening to the conversation and she had already found out that Aurora was poor and she sent an anonymous letter to Marc telling him to go to that place and there, he was going to discover a truth that he had the right to know it.
After School Marc went to the place that had said in the letter and knocks on the door of the house and Aurora opened door and when she sees him she gets in shock and Marc says:
“Do you live here?”
"Yes but I was going to tell you" Aurora replied.
“What, that you are poor or that you didn’t trust me to tell me that” Marc said.
“I was going to tell you at the right time” Aurora respond.
“And when was going to be this right time?”Marc asked.
Aurora didn’t respond.
"But when ...... when you go with the money that I gave you and send me the letter that says that your dad is very sick and that you had to leave, Uh!.....tell me!" Marc replied.
“No!” Aurora respond.
“Of course no, I almost forgot your dad is not sick, right” Marc said.
“My dad is sick and I can show you how he is” Aurora said.
“No thanks, because probably that’s not your dad and you are making it up and I going to be the stupid to fall for it” Marc answered. And then he leaves and Aurora goes to her room and begins to cry.
When Marc arrives his house and goes to his room very furious and his mother saws him and goes to his room to see what was the matter, why he was furious. She enters his room and asks him:
“What happen?”
“Nothing!” Marc answered with a mad voice.
“You know know that you can count on me for anything that you need and if you have a problem a could give you an advice to help you resolve it and remember I will always be here for you” Marc’s mom said.
“Ok” Marc replied.
The next day he thought about everything that his mother told him and he went to talk to her.
“Mom?” Marc said.
“I’m right here, come” Marc’s mom answered.
“Mom, can I ask you something?” Marc asked.
“Yes, is about the girl?” Marc’s mom replied.
“Yes and how did you know?”Marc said. “Mothers know everything” she answered. “And my answer for your question is follow your heart, and that’s all I’m saying” she said.
“But mom.....wait!”Marc screamed and she left.
He thought about everything that his mother told him and he went to Aurora’s house because he wanted to know why Aurora didn’t tell him that she poor. But when arrived to her house she wasn’t there and the only one in house was her mother and he asked her mother,
“Where she is?”
And she told him,
“I can’t tell you”
But Marc could not know where Aurora was, her mother wanted to see if Marc truly love Aurora and this required that he needs to face many obstacles before he knows the truth and at the end when he discovered that by not believing in her and for having a bad opinion about Aurora and he caused her great damage, Of not being for the sacrifices that Aurora made in deciding to leave school and forget her dreams of studying a career and help her family to get out of poverty and instead she took the savings they had to pay part of her studies she went to another town where they recommended her a doctor to cure the illness of her father, which is why Marc was time without knowing anything about Aurora, but day after day he was thinking in her and asking himself where she was. Until one day at school he heard the conversation of two girls about why Aurora could not continue her studies because she took the money to cure the illness of her father and that now she was working at a restaurant to pay the debt of her father's illness and to raise money to start her studies again. At that time Marc could not wait any longer and wanted to know more details of the life of Aurora and interrupted the conversation of the girls and said,
“Sorry, I heard you talking about Aurora and could not contain the need and I have to ask you how do you know her and how do you know all of that about her and where can I find her.” The girls told him all they knew about Aurora, and they had not finished talking when Marc already was returning home to plan the trip to Macondo to meet his old love. The next day before leaving he went to see Aurora‘s mom so she could knew about his decision.
But Marc told her how much he loves Aurora and that he has to find her so he could tell her before his father plans his wedding with Lucero the daughter of his father ally. Aurora’s mom knew how much she loves him and that Aurora will thank her after she does this. Finishing talking to the mother of Aurora took the train to the City of Macondo where Aurora works as he arrived the station; he searched for information about where the restaurant in what she works was located and went over there. When he was faced with the crystals of the place saw through it to Aurora and he felt the same love for her than the first day he met her, without waiting more entered and approached her, Aurora was attending a few customers when Marc said to her,
“AURORA! I love you with all my heart”
And she heard that and she could not possible think that that well-known voice for her, she was hearing it again and told him the same thing.
“Why you didn’t tell that you were poor?” Marc asked.
“Because I was scared that if I told you, you were going to leave and you were never going to talk to me anymore” Aurora responds.
“No, that would never going to happen and even if I will like to leave I couldn’t because you have arrested to your heart” Marc said. “I love you too much to leave you”
After talking a while they decided that after she finishes in the work they would go to the park that was in front of the restaurant and that they would talk about what happened. When the night arrived they talked a lot about what happened and Marc asked Aurora if she could forgive him because he didn’t trust her and that if she could returned with him, and that he wanted to help her in her studies and that when she graduated she could give him back the loan , she agreed with that condition. The following morning they returned to their kingdom and Aurora began in the school until she graduated. Marc never separate of her and maintained the same love and admiration that felt by her.
And they kissed and they lived happily ever after.
“But wait! Did they get married?”Carla said.
“Yes and he was the best king that the kingdom has ever had and of course she also was the best queen and they lived happily ever after” I said. And Carla left.
Aurora thanks her mom for telling Marc where she was. Marc’s father accepts Aurora and let Marc married Aurora. They got married was the most beautiful wedding in the kingdom. The coronation day arrived all the kingdom was in the palace waiting for the coronation. Marc became king and Aurora became queen. Aurora’s father was cured and the lived happily ever after.
They tell that the town was very happy that the king chose to marry a poor girl, and that the marriage was by love and not because of the money and of this Marc demonstrate to be an intelligent king ,noble, brave and honest. Spent the years and they had five children, three boys and two girls who grew happy and forming part of an admirable kingdom and that was the pride of all the people of the kingdom.

My Dream Short Story

...The light green grass is flattened by our tan straw mat as I watched the white clouds slowly drift in the beautiful blue sky. Everything felt perfect as time had stopped itself and it was completely silent. I looked to my right side and see a girl with long, straight, luscious brown hair lying on her back beside me, staring at the sky as if she was beginning to sink into a trance. She then put out her delicate light tan hand, and as I go to reach it everything turns white... My hazel eyes are blinded as the sun shines through my blinds to illuminate the dark room around me. “This is the fourth time I’ve had this dream this week!”, I mutter to myself in my deep voice. I sluggishly drag myself out of my queen sized bed. My blurry eyesight adjusts as my eyes wander around my gray and white colored room. I walk to the bathroom and turn on the faucet. I wash my face with my clean & clear benzoyl peroxide wash and pat my face with my red towel. I look in the mirror and see my smooth tan skin, medium sized nose, slim eyebrows, long eyelashes, smooth pink lips, chiseled jawline and muscular body. I open my mouth to reveal two rows of...

...Eric Culpepper February 27, 2012 English 20 History of Dream Interpretation The connection between humans and their existence in this universe is the one thing that can not exactly be proven. There are few spiritual, mystical, and unexplained occurrences that are experienced on earth, but a dream is something that throughout time has been seen as more than it appears to be. Dream’s and their interpretations have been documented throughout history. Dream interpretation is said to be documented thousands of years from present day. From ancient times to present day, people have tried to give meaning to this mystical occurrence in the brain. In early civilizations, dreaming was considered a supernatural communication or a way to communicate with god. Nearly every religion contains a story relating to dreams and communication with a higher power. The process of the mind racing without control, creating emotional and physical sensations has even been theorized by neurologists, scientists, and those who have studied the subject, as a direct line between the conscious, and unconscious. Originally, dreams were believed to be a connection with humans and the mystical world. Dream interpretations have been documented for nearly five thousand years. “The Mesopotamian people (from what is now Iraq) included the Sumerians who left some of the earliest pictographic writings dating back to about 3100 B.C. By 2700 B.C. they had developed a cuneiform type of writing, which consisted...

Communication

...In the Storytelling animal written by Jonathan Gottschall, basically conveys the idea that stories help humans live their lives. The more we dwell on a story, the more we change and are affected by it. During my time exploring different story, I have not been able to dwell on such a story partially because I do not believe I am at that time in my life where I can understand and appreciate a story and allow it to change my life. Diving into the gist of the book, Gottschall points out that people read less every day or “less than we used to.” We used to read fiction all the time, but it has seemed to go away. This is not to say people have forsaken the idea of fiction but instead look for fiction in other ways. TV’s, music, movies, computers, and much more are consuming our ability to actually read fiction and appreciate it. The reality is people are watching more TV and consuming themselves with stories that may not be entirely fiction or nonfiction. The stories that used to be abundant in books and people are now protruding in a box and screen. American children are being affected by this the most because as they grow up, a fear is they won’t experience the same fiction fairy-tale like childhood most children had before. A topic that I found quite interesting was the science of dreams. Do dreams tell stories? Do they hold some secret prophesy for an individual? Do dreams have any use in this world? These questions were some I have had my entire life. I always...

American Dream

...What is the American Dream? When describing the American dream, there are endless possibilities. The beautiful thing about the American Dream is that it is different for every single person. One person’s dream may be to be an NFL superstar, making ten million dollars a year. Conversely, someone else’s dream can be making minimum wage just to ensure their family can eat. This alone is what makes America the greatest country in the world. Everyone can have a different dream, but they have every possibility to achieve it. Although, it is not a guarantee the person will achieve their dream, it is a guarantee they will have no unfair regulations stopping them. A neighbor of mine at home has a very sad story that led to his pursuit of the American dream. He was one of the highest regarded Medical Doctors in Egypt. He was making great money, and his family was very happy. Then his life was turned upside down when a family member of his was killed because of his religion. He was Christian, and some radical Egyptians hate Christians, so he had to move to America to keep his family safe. His story relates to a quote on page four, “The idea of the American dream has been attached to everything from religious freedom to a home in the suburbs” (Hochschild). Unfortunately his story does not end like the Hollywood motion pictures, but he is completely happy with his current life. He now lives in a two room apartment with his wife, and two daughters and he is working as a cab driver, and...

Is the American Dream Still Alive?

...Jeremiah Mertz American Lit Is the American Dream Still Alive F. Scott Fitzgerald and William Faulkner are commonly considered two of the best writers of the twentieth century. Their novels depict the lives and struggles of people and give insight into the life of the early 1900's. Their stories often concern the American Dream. In these stories it seems that both these authors are saying that the usual concept of the American dream does not result in happiness and is false. Many people associate accumulating wealth, power, and status as the American dream. In Faulkner's and Fitzgerald's stories this is not the case. Their stories state that the dream is not about accumulating wealth, power, and status as this does not make a person happy, but that creating close relationships and spending time with loved ones creates true happiness and that is what the American Dream truly is. Faulkner's story "A Rose for Emily" centers around the character of Emily Grierson. Emily Grierson was the only relative left of an aristocratic old southern family. These families had wealth, power and status. They were the families that controlled most of life in the old south. Despite the old south falling, Emily still had her wealth and status. She was well known around her town and everyone respected her. The town tried to support her the best they could after her father had died and even remitted her taxes as a sign of respect. Yet Emily was not happy. After her father's death she was seldom...

Gilgamesh

...children with them; Gilgamesh himself is two thirds god and one third man. Gilgamesh’s mother is Ninsun who is a minor goddess known for her wisdom and his father was the king of Uruk before him. Throughout the story there are instances of the gods interfering in the deeds of men, for instance once Enkidu and Gilgamesh return to the city of Uruk with the wood they have taken from the great cedar forest Ishtar the goddess of love, war, and half a dozen other things asks Gilgamesh to be her consort which Gilgamesh turns down rather rudely citing the terrible fates of her past lovers. Enraged Ishtar acquires the bull of heaven to destroy the city of Uruk and in another deed of heroic valor Enkidu and Gilgamesh kill the bull of heaven. So not only do the gods mate and interact with humans, they also feel emotions like that of a human. In the case of Ishtar she is quite capable of feeling petty emotions like jealousy and rage, these feelings push her to potentially punish all of Uruk by releasing the bull of heaven. Ishtar paints a picture of the gods that portrays an unwieldy and cantankerous relationship between men and gods that most of the time ends up putting people in a not so desirable situation. This relationship is also mirrored by the tale of Utnapishtim and the story of the great Deluge and ultimately the fate of Enkidu, the gods feel very human emotions and their judgment can be clouded which normally results in many people dying. Enkidu himself is very metaphysical himself...

The American dream might not hold the same awe inspiring sound that it once did, but for many generations before ours, it was a beacon of hope that helped build the foundation that the United States was built on. Great Gatsby

...“The Great Gatsby”, written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, portrays a world filled with rich societal happenings, love affairs, and corruption. Nick Carraway is the engaged narrator of the book, a curious choice considering that he is in a different class and almost in a different world than Gatsby and the other characters. Nick relates the plot of the story to the reader as a member of Gatsby’s circle. He has ambivalent feelings towards Gatsby, despising his personality and corrupted dream but feeling drawn to Gatsby’s magnificent capacity to hope. Using Nick as a moral guide, Fitzgerald attempts to guide readers on a journey through the novel to illustrate the corruption and failure of the American Dream. To achieve this, Nick’s credentials as a reliable narrator are carefully established and reinforced throughout the story. The American Dream is a sensitive and beloved topic in American culture. Discussing its failure and corruption needs to be done gently and morally. Fitzgerald understood this, and therefore acknowledged the need of a kind and cordial narrator within a materialistic society. Enter Nick Carraway, who on the first page lets readers know “In consequence, I’m inclined to reserve all judgments” pg 7. This statement already serves to set Nick up as a decent and honest man that can be trusted. To back up this statement Fitzgerald included a short section regarding Nick’s family and background. The Carraway’s claim themselves to be loyal Americans. However, when...

My dreams are the reason of why I get out of bed every morning. Kevin Smith is a person I admire. He is the kind of person I want my kids to grow up to be. He is not a very well-known director, but he is one of the best, and overall, a great person. He is the reason why I want to become a director myself. I want to tell a story through a movie screen. I want people to see my story, and not only see it, but feel something. Anger, sadness, happiness, anything. I want to pull the strings on their emotions. Many of the movies that made me feel something as a kid were super hero movies. Super heroes are literally a thing out of this world. Their stories are fascinating. I want to write those stories, and the only way I can do that is by becoming one of MARVEL’s writers. MARVEL is the number one comic book publisher, and I want to become their number one writer. I want to write one of the stories where the hero grabs the girl and gives her his hand, and they ride away into the sunset. Riding away into the sunset. That seems like a great way to end a story.
