The extent of student`s learning in academics may be determined by the grades a student earns for a period of learning has been done.It is believed that a grade is a primary indicator of such learning. If a learner earns a high grades it is concluded that they may also have learned a lot while low grades indicate lesser learning. However, many experiences and studies found out that there are also several factors that would account for the grades. No single factor can be definitely pointed out as predicting grades. It has been interplay of so many factors – gender, IQ, study habits, age, year level, parent`s educational attainment, social status, etc. In fact, almost all of existing environmental and personal factors are a variable of academic performance, However, at this point in time, we would like to know the study habits and its effects to the academic performances of Centro Escolar University, Manila – AAT Students.Habit is a second nature; it is routine of a person what he or she does in every condition. It cannot be changed; it may be good or bad. It does not get affected by the changing of place or schedules. A habit is something that is done on a scheduled, regular, planned basis and that is not relegated to a second place or optional place in one’s life. It is simply done, no reservations, no excuses, and no expectations. Study habits tell a person that how much he will learn and how far he wants to go, and how much he wants to earn. These all could be the importance of study habits in student’s life and it plays a major role in their academic performances. BACKGROUND OF STUDY
Accounting is a glorious but misunderstood field. The popular view is that it's mostly mind-numbing number-crunching; it certainly has some of that, but it's also a rich intellectual pursuit with an abundance of compelling and controversial issues. Accountants are often stereotyped as soulless drones laboring listlessly in the bowels of corporate bureaucracies. But many accountants will tell you that it's people skills, not technical knowledge, that are crucial to their success. And although it's often thought of as a discipline of pinpoint exactitude with rigid rules, in practice accountants rely heavily on best estimates and educated guesses that require careful judgment and strong imagination.
The name that looms largest in early accounting history is Luca Pacioli, who in 1494 first described the system of double-entry bookkeeping used by Venetian merchants in hisSumma de Arithmetica, Geometria, Proportioni et Proportionalita. Of course, businesses and governments had been recording business information long before the Venetians. But it was Pacioli who was the first to describe the system of debits and credits in journals andledgers that is still the basis of today's accounting systems. The industrial revolution spurred the need for more advanced cost accounting systems, and the development of corporations created much larger classes of external capital providers - shareowners and bondholders - who were not part of the firm's management but had a vital interest in its results. The rising public status of accountants helped to transform accounting into a profession, first in the United Kingdom and then in the United States. In 1887, thirty-one accountants joined together to create the American Association of Public Accountants. The first standardized test for accountants was given a decade later, and the first CPAs were licensed in 1896.

Setting * Centro Escolar University, Manila
Centro Escolar University was established on June 3, 1907 by Doña LibradaAvelino and Doña Carmen de Luna for the instruction and training of the youth in all branches of the arts and sciences. With some benches, a single blackboard and a few books, the two educators steadfastly nurtured a dream of establishing a nationalistic center of learning for Filipino women. The first college that of Pharmacy opened in 1921. The College of Liberal Arts, Education and Dentistry followed one after the other. Three years later, the College of Optometry was established.With three campuses and over 50 academic programs, CEU has gone far beyond its founders' vision, building steps towards dreams and goals of the Filipino youth.

THEORETICAL * Personality Theory by Albert Bandura
Behaviorism, with its emphasis on experimental methods, focuses on variables we can observe, measure, and manipulate, and avoids whatever is subjective, internal, and unavailable. In the experimental method, the standard procedure is to manipulate one variable, and then measure its effects on another. * Theory of Framework by Constance L. Pearson
The dissertation by Constance L. Pearson focuses on the issue of reading comprehension and the barriers associated with reading comprehension. Pearson identifies a variety of factors that impact reading comprehension. The motivation level of the reader, the reader’s reading level, the level of the content, and the reader’s interest significantly impact an individual’s comprehension ability.Pearson argues there is a direct relationship between schema and reading comprehension. Schema refers to the background knowledge on a specific topic or idea an individual has, it is all the ideas someone has related to a particular word or concept.
* Academic Performance Related to Study Habits
Effective Study Habits means havinggood grades and leading a student to perform well in class.However, never forget that learning is fun, so that children will create the most return over the long term, as far as learning and better grades are concerned. Effective study habits are learned at home. Parenting means teaching our children these skills and making them habits. Study habits are important to improve grades that some think grades really measure how well parents teach their children tostudy, particularly in the primary grades. The purpose of thissection is to help parents teach their children effective study habits, not only to improve good grades, but to make education easierand, even enjoyable.
