Based on the etymology of the word, vocation, therefore means a “call. If there is a CALL, there must be a CALLER, and someone who is CALLED. There must be always a response. For Christians, God himself is the caller. We have different stories based from the bible or what we called the scriptures. We heard different stories of men and women who were called by God to do something for the others not for themselves. Examples: * Abraham was called by God to be the “Father of great nation” or the “Father of God’s chosen people”. * Moses was called by God to lead God’s chosen people or His people out of Egypt. * Mary was called by God to become the “Mother of our Savior, Jesus Christ”. Teaching as our vacation Perhaps we never dreamt to become a teacher or to teach? But we are here preparing to become one of it. How did it happen? From the eyes of those who believe, it was God who places us in field of teaching in able for us to teach. The data gathered from the participants was the basis for eliciting themes about the phenomenon which were consolidated in to a thematic map summary.
