ESPN has created ESPN deportes that gets users request from Spanish speaking individual. There is also a great Marketing strategy that targets the globe on every inch to promote sports. Sports been around forever. Even when growing up, sport will influence an individual’s life. In America, High school and college sports have taken up the spot light. Sports in school have cause programs such as art and band to have no more funding for these programs. For all these reasons, ESPN has a steady request from its users every second. ESPN could also have it peaks at special events such as the Super Bowl, World Cup, NBA Finals, Olympics, Title Fights, and much moreon to make deals with the NBA, USFL, NHL, and what would become the big fish of all sports in the US, the National Football League.
Sport by sport deals were made to bring sports data in from all possible sources so ESPN could report scores, play film clips, and generally become one stop shopping for all things sports on TV and later the web.
It’s a complex system to understand. They have a lot going on with Television & Broadcasting, live scoring, editing and publishing, Digital Media, giving sports scores, web and mobile, personalization, fantasy games, and they also want to expand API access to 3rd party developers. Unlike most every profile on HighScalability ESPN has an enterprise heritage. It’s a Java Enterprise stack, so you’ll see Oracle databases, JMS brokers, Java Beans, and Hibernate.
Some of the most important lessons we’ll learn about:
• Platform changes everything. ESPN sees themselves as a content provider. These days content is accessed through multiple paths. It can be on TV, or on ESPN.com, or on mobile, but content is also being consumed by more and more internal applications, like Fantasy Games. And they also want to provide an external API so developers can build on ESPN resources. ESPN wants to become a walled garden built on a sports content platform that centralizes access to their prime advantage over everyone else, which is unprecedented access to sports related content and data. The walled garden approach that Facebook has made work for social, Apple has made work for apps, and Google has made work for AI, is what ESPN wants to do for sports. The problem is transitioning from an enterprise architecture to a platform based on APIs and services is a tough change to make. They can do it. They are doing it. But it will be hard.
• Web scale changes everything. Many web properties today use Java as their standard backend development environment, but ESPN.com, which grew up in the Java Enterprise era, went all in for the canonical Enterprise architecture. And it has .

Personal Narrative: Horse

...Horse... It had been a rough day. Dawn was beat, I was tired, time to rest. A stable is the best place to sleep. Warm, soft, dry hay, plenty for Dawn to eat. I closed the barn doors, and Dawn huffed. I climbed the ladder that led to the top layer of the barn. A cold, heavy, and strong breeze blew through the window. I closed it and latched the ladder way. I took off my dirty shirt, and slipped off my worn down boots. I grabbed the covers from my bag sitting in the left corner of the barn. I light the lantern that was in there to. Wrapping myself in the covers, and wadding some hay for a pillow, I dozed off. The next rainy morning I got myself dressed, and got on Dawn. Me and Dawn are running away from the law. I killed the man who killed my...

Personal Narrative: A Day In Soccer Camp

...I wanted to go. Of course I had to ask my parents if I could go before I told Joe I could go with him. As I was getting in the car, I told my dad what Joe had told me, and his reply was, “Mom and I will have to think about it.” I was stoked. I thought to myself, “This could be the first time I go out of the state without my parents.” Later that day, my parents and I went to my grandparent’s house for dinner. The food was delectable as usual, but that was not the part I was worried about. I knew they were going to excuse me from the dinner table and talk about me going or not going to Ohio with Joe. They called me back in, and as I anxiously sat down, my mom told me I could stay with Joe and his family at Cedar Point. Filled with joy, I took out my phone and told Joe I could go to Cedar Point....

Cookie Hills-Personal Narrative

...One time she got injured on her leg it kept bleeding and she , and she had to baby it. We got two chairs, one to sit on and one to put her injured leg on. She was crying and her mom was just standing there laughing. Maddy was yelling “Mom why do you hate me, you don’t love me.” So that right there shows you how sensitive she is. Considering the only reason why her mom started laughing was out of nervousness. Everytime we walk down a specific hill it reminds of when she got hurt. It is actually really funny to me, but she did get injured, not that bad though. So one day I was at her house and we decided to bake cookies, it was kind of late but she had family over. The cookies we were baking...

Overcoming My Fear Of Great America

...shouts and screams, the crying of those who seemed in peril, and I was in the middle. It was the summer of 2011, July, a crisp morning breeze awoken me. Then through the nooks and crannies the sun peeked through and I was showered with warmth and energy. Then I remembered today was the day. We were going to Great America, and I said I was going to overcome my fear of the Demon. Or was I? But that was for later. I sprinted through the hallway. Got my clothes from the dryer, brushed my teeth, grabbed a cup of good ol’ OJ and a slightly, frozen waffle. I changed clothes, ate, brushed at the same time. I got ready so fast that even my sister was still asleep. Only me and my parents were awake. Then I sat, wondered how many and what rides I should entertain myself with, oh what wonders await!...

Personal Narrative: My Trip To Cedar Point

...I have been to cedar point a few times before, but this time was the best. The summer of 2017 my mom and dad, little brother, older brother, his girlfriend, and I all went to cedar point. What made this trip the best one is that my older brother Logen was able to come. He moved out a few months before in June and haven’t been able to talk to him much. At the beginning is when we all set sail for Ohio. I rode with my logen and Aiden, my little brother rode with our parents. We had a three hour trip ahead of us and I was prepared for the day. The entire way there Logen, madison, and I were singing to 2000’s R&B music. We finally arrive and start to drive down the long strip of land onto the peninsula of Cedar Point. We payed for parking and got in line to actually get into the park. We were first in line and had to wait only 10 minutes before we were let in. It was about 10:00 AM and we got some drinks for the day and started to ride the rollercoasters....

Morgan's Memoir: I Walk Down The Hill

...Memoir As I pulled the brake on my bike, I slowly come to a stop at the top of the hill. I contemplated going down. Morgan, my best friend at the time, started to fly down the hill. “Come down,” she hollered whilst she flew, “it’s going to be fun!” My gut said it’s not a good idea. I decided to go down the hill, thinking, what’s the worst that can happen? Well, let’s just say, I found out. On April 2, 2015, after school, I was getting ready to have a sleepover with Morgan. We decided to ride our bikes to her house because she didn’t live very far, and it was a gorgeous day. We rode for a long time until we reached a very steep hill. I saw the beautiful sky glimmering on this gorgeous, sunny, day as the spring breeze blew by me, passing the aroma of blossomed spring flowers....

Childhood

...part that passes quite unknowingly and we started missing it from the time we understand it’s lost. One precious memory of my childhood is visiting grandparents during summer vacations. As they lived in small village far away from the busy life of Dhaka city. I used to go there with my parents and sometimes with my uncle and stayed for some days. I liked the journey very much. The journey was actually in two parts. First part was a bus journey and second part was launch journey. The views of roadside were welcoming. It was like a symbol of vacation I would be able to enjoy. The sunlight is the crop field, the rood side markets, the crowd in the middle stopages was looked cheery to me. Then the launch terminal came where bus usually stopped. The launches were not very big there. My parents wished that I sat with them but I liked to stand by the side of river and watched the wave goes by. Sometimes small fisherman's boats went by and I could get a glimpse of their fishing. When we reached there I found my grandfather waiting for us. We went to my grandparent’s house then. There my grandmother was waiting with lots of food. The building was one stored with tinned roof. There was lots of space around. So that I could play in a wide space with my cousins. When I stayed there sometimes I went to crop fields to visit. I saw the farmers working hard for their crops. There was a bank of river not very far. My uncle used to take me there. Sometimes we hired small boats and roam on water...

Huckleberry Finn

...unexpected for the time it plays out in. How is he going to have a normal life? Is it really freedom when slavery was still continuing, is his freedom really freedom? Work? Family? How do you feel about the ending? Answer: The ending and the beginning goes hand in hand, we start of in media res and at the ending it feels like we are back at the same spot. We don’t feel that the ending gave justice to the greatness of the book. As a narrate you feel a bit mislead throughout the book. The end makes us feel like Tom Sawyer is the antagonist in relation to Huck, which perepetia involves going from cute boy to destroyer of lives. How is the book narrated and what consequences does it have? Answer: The book is narrated by Huck, 1st person, intra-diegetic –> homo-diegetic, it’s a story with several stories in it. It starts of in media res, we are thrown in the story. For the most it’s a elipsis story but there is also tracks of prolepsis and analepsis here and there in the story. Thanks to analepsis/prolepsis we get a greater view of the story. When we first meet Jim it’s through a prolepsis, when Huck tells about things that he has found out. “Afterwards Jim said the witches bewitched him and put him in trance, and rode him all over the State, and then set him under the trees again and hung his hat on a limb to show who done it. And next time Jim told it he said they rode him down to New...

Sound

...Every sound we hear around us is also part of our lives. If we look at the other side of sound, it could be our memory or rewind us back to our childhood time. Sounds come from everywhere, everything, and such as: animals, nature include weather, or objects in the environment. For me, I hear a lot of sounds in my whole life. Some of the sounds I hear can make me think back of my childhood’s memories. Summer season almost approach to us. Sound that most reminds me of the summer are related to insect, weather, and natural. Surprisingly enough, insect is the most annoying bugs at night in the summer. They are everywhere, from the grass to the trees. One night in summer day, I was sitting outside in the balcony in the dark and couldn’t see things well because I lit the candles. I heard the “buzz, zee” sound around my ear; I knew some kind of bee around me. I was terrified that night because I would look horrible if I got stung. I immediately blew the candle so the bee couldn’t see me. Lucky me, it flew away after a few minutes. Bumble bees are a big nightmare to me. So every time I see bees, I remember that night. It was a scary night but also a memory in summer. Bumble bees are friendly to some people but it is my enemy. Summer is the season of rain, thunderstorm and lightning. Everyone likes rain because it cleans out all the dirt and pollen from the trees. When I see rain, I remember my six- grade school year in my country. Back then, we wore uniform when we went to school...

The Woods

...the woods would always accommodate. We would start our journey by walking across a perpetually soggy horse pasture, dodging land mines left by the horses. The smells of fresh cut hay and horse manure followed in our wake. Our first stop in the woods was always the stream that ran the entire length. With a running start, a young boy could almost jump the width of the stream, landing a few feet short on the opposite bank. We would descend the bank and hop from rock to rock, trying to keep our tennis shoes dry. When that failed, we trod down the center of the stream, lifting up flat rocks to uncover unsuspecting crayfish. We did not know that people actually ate these peculiar looking creatures. In the winter, we would compete to see who could stand on the ice of the frozen stream the longest. The stream would always win, as the ice gave way with a resounding crack. We walked home with heavy feet, dragging rock-hard pant legs frozen up to the knees. Older kids rode their motorcycles in the woods and adjacent field, as the high-pitched engine whine and smells of two cycle oil mixed with gasoline filled the air. Eventually, my neighborhood trio had motorcycles of our own, and our spinning tires would cut trails through the shaded damp sod in the woods. A man would appear from his nearby garage, staring at us as we rode. He worked on large trucks, and this day was no different. His arms were covered in grease from fingertips to elbows. We paid little mind to him, as the thrill...
