The week four-concept paper
With symbolic within cinema, the movies images can be from very know to enormously clever they all aid the directing. The viewers focus on the concept inbuilt, with the theoretical way essential in the movie the way the symbolic can used in the movies.
The good character where white, then the evil where the color black in the movie. With these symbols it entails more significance clear to the audience sensitive, also with symbolic sources can increase with from cutting.
Like for instance the, when the director directly focuses on the good character weapon to the evil characters weapon. Another way is that the director might pick, continually use an image. That well-known form that unreliable which the director uses as a music composer would do (pg.174, Dennis J. Sporre). The list of examples with the symbolism, within the cinema, is the first Scarface movies. Someone in the movie, about to murder in the movie there would be an attendance of an x in those scenes. In the movie Fort, Apache John Ford uses the symbolic reference, of the clouds of dust like a curtain to hide the big situations taken place in the scene.
The dust in the movie meant that the outcome that was going to happen with the troops in the movie. The color pieces, blowing of the wind, grass, trees the different forms of the clouds been symbolical also motifs.
The movie La Dolce Vita, the director, did more subtle use with images of water within the Fellini’s movie. Also in the star wars movie the Episode one the phantom menace, they use the forms of cutting method (pg.174, Dennis J. Sporre). Week Four Individual Paper

...Week Four Individual Paper XXX ACC/290 September XX, 2012 XXX Week Four Individual Paper The current reading supports that commercial accounting and generally accepted accounting principles, strongly advise the accrual basis of accounting versus the cash basis of accounting. The accrual basis of accounting confirms that when transactions alter a business’s financial statements they are recorded during the period that the events happened, regardless if there was an exchange of cash or not. An example of the accrual basis would be businesses who recognize revenues earned, regardless if cash was received or not. The accrual basis also recognize when expenses are incurred, even if cash was not paid. The other potential option to the accrual basis is the cash basis. The major difference between the two accounting basis’, is that under the cash basis a business will record their revenue only at the time that cash is received. Additionally, they record expenses only when cash is received. For these reasons, the cash basis of accounting is not allowed under generally accepted accounting principles. This is due to the fact that the cash basis does not record revenue when it is earned, and therefore violates the principle of revenue recognition. At the same time, the cash basis does not allow for recording the expenses as they occur, which is a violation of the matching principle. The cash basis measures can mislead or misrepresent the true financial picture of a...

Four Day Work Week

...THE FOUR DAY WORK WEEK: Just how effective is it? DOES THE FOUR DAY WORK WEEK LEAD TO INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY? Yasin Mohammed UMUC AMBA 600 Research Paper Abstract The 4 day work week is not a new idea. It is one that has had its share of controversies over the years. Introduced in the 1970’s the idea of the 4 days work week has been making a comeback as of lately. There are several issues to look at here. One of the main statements in regards to it is that productivity will decrease because of fatigue. A 10 hour work day is too long. On the flipside, another of the main issues pointed out by proponents is that productivity will increase because you will have a workforce with higher morale. In this paper, we will discuss these two issues among others in relation to the effectiveness of the 4 day work week. JUST HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE FOUR DAY WORK WEEK Proponents of the four day work week usually state the benefit of work/family balance as one of the main reasons that it should be implemented. They estimate that this balance will lead to happier employees which will lead to increased productivity. Most of the detractors state the long ten hour work days as the main reason why employees will be too tired and fatigued to perform. How can two such different viewpoints arise from the same set of circumstances? It is essential to point out that both of these positions are made with assumptions of a homogenous workforce that requires the same work/life balance......

It's not just a "The New Age of Computer Mobility" it is the new age of computing (Du Plessis, 2010). “Consumers increasingly switch from computers, made for concentrated work desk use, to devices used spontaneously in parallel with the flow of daily events. Purchase intent is higher for tablets compared to desktop PCs, and for smartphones compared to laptops” (Ericsson). There are limitations to portable devices. We know that keyboards have to be a certain size to use them comfortably, right? How practical is it to use keyboards "heavily"? Are the keyboards workable for longer, more sustained tasks? Meaning, that you can type a term paper on a desktop, or a laptop. Is this a realistic option with a portable device? The portable computing has solved the problem of mobility. Portable devices have been around for some time now, in terms of time with technology development. Support: -They have made it better for consumers by being able to have mobility. Calendars on the go. Task list on the go. -Can carry around in pocket. -This is an improvement because you are not able to put the laptop in your pocket. -In addition to planning your life, smartphones have the capability to make phone calls anywhere. -Before the smartphone there was the flip phone which didn't enable you to see what you are searching on the internet. ...HOW TO MAKE CONCEPT PAPER A concept paper is about the in-depth analysis regarding an intangible thought, theory, or idea. Concept examples include fear, authorship, unemployment, education, etc. The goal of writing a concept paper is to explain a particular idea to the audience objectively. If your audience doesn’t have the knowledge about the issue, your job should be to inform them. If your audience has some knowledge, your job is to add new things into the discussion. Usually, a concept paper discusses a controversial topic which could be interpreted in various ways. Below are the steps for writing a concept paper. * Pick your concept. If your instructor did not assign a particular concept, you have the freedom of deciding the topic. You should choose a subject that is related to the course your concept paper is for. Your concept should illuminate the topics which have been discussed in your class. It also always helps if you choose a subject that you are familiar with or interested in researching on. * Research your concept. You should spend no less time to research about your topic than actually writing your paper. ...…………………….My Course: My Self-Efficacy and Locus of Control……….……….. Name: Me Concept Paper No: 1 Course/Yr: BS Psychology 2 Date: 2 – 8 – 15 In the recent years of being a psychology major, I have learned many things including, but not limited to, the foundations and an overview of psychology, the various people that have contributed to this ever growing field of science, and of course, the schools of thought. One of these schools of thought is behaviorism, and among the many in this area are the two men, Albert Bandura, and Julian Rotter, who introduced the concepts of self-efficacy and the locus of control respectively. Self-efficacy refers to the person’s belief in herself, her capacity to do and accomplish things- her esteem, while the locus of control refers to what the person attributes something to, her failures, for example- was it because she herself did not try hard enough, or was it because something or someone else ruined it for her? Dwelling on these two concepts now, I believe they can both be summarized into a quote from a prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr, which goes… “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.” As a psychology major… a student, and I think it applies to everyone else as well, it all boils down to the simple line that I mentioned. Our choices, our decisions… it all depends upon what we choose to do. The self-efficacy and the locus of......

...Fine Arts Proposal Jennifer Rohrer St. Louis University INTRODUCTION Before we begin, I would like to introduce a few terms which will be used throughout this paper. First, visual art. In this paper, visual art refers to aesthetic art, such as drawing, painting, and sculpture. Second, “at- risk” youth, this refers to children who come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They are typically a black or Hispanic minority, even though there have been cases of Caucasian children. They are also of low academic standing. Finally, success. Success in this research paper means the completion of high school. No Child Left Behind was put into place in hopes of closing the achievement gap between high and low socioeconomic children. States have been trying to figure out the best way to achieve this dilemma, but they have been going about it the wrong way. The legislators who are in charge of education are assuming all children learn the same. However, this is not the case. Children have many different ways which they learn. But because of this cookie cutter mold, curriculum is being designed to suit one type of child. This can cause boredom, under achievement, and discipline problems in other children (Lutfi and Repress, 2006). One way legislators have decided to design their curriculum, is to have education based on Math, Science, and English, eliminating other subjects such as Music and Art. This plan is not beneficial to anyone. Art education, especially through......

...SAMPLE CONCEPT PAPER THIS PAPER HAS BEEN ALTERED FOR ILLUSTRATIVE PURPOSES AND DOES NOT REPRESENT THE ORIGINAL CONCEPT PAPER OR THE PROJECT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM. (i) Strengthening statistical capacity in support of progress toward the internationally agreed development goals in the Southern African Development Community region (ii) Implementing entities and U Secretariat partners: DESA jointly with ECA (iii) Background Statistics are an important tool in the development-policymaking processes of countries and regional organizations. They are needed for assessing the current development situation, setting objectives and targets for the future and measuring progress and development. However, a substantial gap still exists between the demand for information and the ability of most countries in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region to routinely provide it. The SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan recognizes statistics as one of the cross-sectoral areas that need to be strengthened to foster regional cooperation and integration over the next 15 years. This project is therefore designed to improve the availability and reliability of basic data required for development planning in the SADC region, with special emphasis on data requirements for the internationally agreed development goals and the Millennium Development Goals. The project is aimed at facilitating subsequent networking among subregions through interactive sharing......
