...September 20, 2014 Concert Report Paper The Faculty Favorites Concert celebrating Caldwell University’s seventy-five year anniversary took place on September 20, 2014 at 6 o’clock p.m. in the Alumni Theatre. The Alumni Theatre is relatively a small hall with a theatre-like environment. The seats are set up in a way where they curved around the stage and the ceiling is very high. The stage was already set up with the drum set, piano, and bass form the beginning. In general, the audience was very calm and mindful of the theatre and performers. Some of the audience members were dressed formally while others were dressed casually. The performers were very professional and attentive to their performances. The men were dressed mostly in black and the women in other colors such as yellow and dark blue. All of the performers that performed were extremely talented, but the music I liked the best was “O Sole Mio (My Sunshine)”. The lyrics of the song was written by G. Capurro and the music was composed by E. di Capua. The performance consisted of only the piano and a singer. The song was performed by Dan Yates singing in baritone and Warren Hems on the piano. ...Lindgren Museum Visit Paper Outer Coffin Of Khonsu 86.1.1 A-B During my visit to the Metropolitan Museum of art I saw many amazing pieces of amazing art. The Egyptian pieces stood out to me in particular because of my new background knowledge that I have acquired from this class. This was my first time at the museum and basically my first time seeing this type of art up close. Seeing images of the art on slides in class or in a textbook doesn’t really do the art justice or show the actual intricacy or detail of the figures. To be honest I don’t know which amazed me more, seeing the massive structures sculpted out of solid stone or the amazingly detailed figurines that were no bigger then two inches. At first I was going to choose a small figurine that was probably smaller then my finger. It amazed me just for the reason that it was so small but when I looked at it closely I was shocked with the detail. It was right there when it really hit me, how amazing these people were to be able to craft such detailed items without the tools that we have today. ...Lakes Art Fair For the second art encounter I attended the 2014 Great Lakes Art Fair in Novi, Michigan. It was a short 1 hour drive for a great experience that I will tell my family about for weeks to come. This art fair reminds me of the Black Swamp festival that is in Bowling Green every year. There was art vendors as far as the eye could see. I enjoyed my time there looking at all different kinds of art, from the more contemporary styles, to classical works of art that looked as if they were taken from museum floors. The show consists of 200 artist displays, and includes free access to decorated gardens and a student art display as well. One of my favorite aspects of the festival was just the amount of art there was there. It was interesting seeing artists make pottery by hand, and showing off their tapestries that some of which took years to complete. It was really amazing to see these things, and to see how close and similar their techniques were, as to what we learned in class. Another thing that amazed me at the fair was the glassblowing demonstrators. Glass blowing has always been something that interests me. It was so cool seeing these people take molten globs of glass, and turning them into amazing bowls, vases and abstract works of art. Giving birth to a child creates a strong bond between a mother and daughter, the emotional bond created between my granddaughter and myself is due to the fact, I had custody of her for the first two and half years of her life and I sang Amazing Grace to her every night before bedtime. She weighted a pound and six ounces when she was born, by the Grace of God she is a thriving six year old. This gives reason for her name, Nevaeh Lee, her first name backwards with her middle name, Heaven Lee. This poem touches my heart on a level no song has ever done. It was a way we spent our special time together. I can feel her little body lying on my chest with her hand clutching my shirt collar. This is the “Intensity of Emotion” (Section 13.4) I feel when I think of those times and wish by some miracle I could experience them again.
