Rikki-tikki Tavi was a brave, little mongoose who has a right to be proud of himself. So maybe in the literature it sound a little violent when killing the snakes but he did save the family from the venomous snakes. A mongoose is a carnivore that feeds on eggs, birds and especially copras. While he was fighting the copras he had a little help from his friends Darzee and Chuchundra. Darzee is a tail-bird is the one who helped him the most unlike Chuchundra, the musk-rat, who never comes out to the middle of the floor, but always creeped around the wall, to give him advice, but Rikki did the real fighting. Rikki-tikki should be proud of himself because he fought venomous snakes from attacking Teddy and his family. So when Rikki was in the garden he sees Teddy running to him but when he moves his eyes to look back he saw a venomous snake. So Rikki fought the snake and saved teddy’s life so after that Teddy’s parents were so grateful and nice to Rikki. They gave him a big dinner and got to sleep with Teddy for the night. When Rikki was walking in the garden he finds Darzee and his wife crying about Nag eating oe of there babies (Kipiling pg.#18). Darzee explained to Rikki that one of there babies fell out of the nest last night and Nag ate him (Kipling 18). At first Rikki did not know who Nag was, but then right when he said that Nag shows up right in front of him. So Rikki attacks him but he is to scared, it was the first copra he ever attacked and killed, but then he remembered that mongooses are known for killing snakes, so Rikki’s eyes turned red like every mongoose does and attacks Nag (Kipling
