The newspaper industry in India is highly fragmented amongst the Hindi Dailies, English Dailies and several vernacular Dailies. The market size of the entire industry stands at INR263 billion. Whereas with the growth of the digital media and strong presence of big search engines like Google; the print newspaper industry is struggling all over the world. But interestingly, Indian print newspaper industry is growing with the digital counterpart with hand in hand. On one hand Digital media is increasing its hold in tier I and II cities and also amongst young readers but on the other hand print media is reaching out to small villages and remote areas due to stronger and efficient distribution system and increased literacy rate.
