The train’s brakes hissed and squeaked as what felt like a never ending ride was had come to an end. Timmy Turner stepped off the vehicle, trembling. Joining the army had been the worst mistake he ever made. He squinted, and barely saw a town that was almost too far to see. At that moment, many thoughts ran through his head, and none were positive. Commander Reeves shouted at the squadron asking them if we were ready to move the safe house. His small battalion of 200 men yelled a hearty yes sir! back to him. All except for Timmy, whose “yes sir” was timid.
Three deafening bangs shattered the silence. Without being told, the squad scrambled to get cover. Timmy hoped that those gunshots were for target practice. They were in a slightly thick grove, that led up to the town. The place crawling with soldiers that had produced the gunshots, which made him regret the position he was, and it was all due to that dreadful talk with his parents.

He still had his mission, which was to get rid of the Germans. He ran down a road expecting to see them, but he came across none. Confused, he kept moving and turned onto another road, but they weren’t there either. He ran to the North wall and saw people celebrating. As he ran over, the crowd cheered and applauded. He didn't feel so alone anymore. They were all congratulating him for killing the Lieutenant. News had spread quickly. He walked away from the group, and thought about his lost friend. He hated the when he discovered Freddy had died. Something clicked in his mind right then and there. He thought of something he had never thought of before, a selfless thought. He wanted to help and protect people to make sure that their loved ones wouldn’t feel the way that he had when Freddy had died. The next step was to end this
