To Kill a Mockingbird “Well it’d Be Sort Of like Killing a Mockingbird Wouldn’t It”. The character motivation of Atticus, Scout, and Jem were Racism and stereotype. I personally like the movie better than the book because you can see the actions and hear the tone and witness the mood so we will know how to actually take it instead of jumping to conclusions. Beginning with Atticus Finch when he had to Face the actions of being called a “Nigger Lover”, is a form of hate and racism. Many people in those times looked down, and blamed Blacks (African-Americans) for everything, and they disliked anyone who associated/ became friends with a Negro. Because in their eyes we weren’t equal to them and we shouldn’t be able to do the things they do or learn the things they learn just because of our race. Atticus viewed it from a different perspective; he …show more content…
Atticus gives everyone a chance and you can tell it kinds of hurts him to see his own kind look down own other people. “I wants to know why you bringin’ white chillun to nigger church.” “They’s my comp’ny,” “You ain’t got no business bringin’ white chillun here-they got their church, we got our’n. It is our church, ain’t it, Miss Cal?” This quote is important because it tells the readers that some blacks are racist to whites. This quote is significant because it is the first time Scout and Jem experience racism first-hand. They feel like they’re the objects of someone else’s racism, which puts them in a unique position. Usually it’s the white people who are showing racism but this time black people (African Americans) also known as “Niggers” to the white people are showing racism when Atticus Finch’s maid brings Jem and Scout to her church. I personally feel as though they are just scared to die or go to jail for being around white children that they don’t have to care for.

My point is that: what I am going to share in this article concerning the Igorot culture might not be the same practiced by the Igorots of today. It has made variations by the passing of time, which is also normally happening to many other cultures, but the main core of respect and reverence to ancestors and to those who had just passed is still there. The Igorot culture that I like to share is about our practices and beliefs during the "time of Death". Death is part of the cycle of life. Igorots practice this part of life cycle with a great meaning and importance. Before the advent of Christianity in the Igorotlandia, the Igorots or the people of the Cordilleran region in the Philippines were animist or pagans. Our reverence or the importance of giving honor to our ancestors is a part of our daily activities. We consider our ancestors still to be with us, only that they exist in another world or dimension. Whenever we have some special feasts (e.g., occasions during death, wedding, family gathering, etc.), when we undertake something special (like going somewhere to look for a job or during thanksgiving), we perform some special offer. We call this "Menpalti/ Menkanyaw", an act of butchering and offering animals. During these times we call them...
