...the simplicity of the recipe the learners have expressed interest in receiving training to prepare this dish. Being reasonably good cooks and having a strong desire to be creative with recipes we will be suitable trainers to teach these interested learners. Knowing our capability especially with cooking, they trust us to do this job successfully and well. Needs Assessment Concern The key concern is that there is a birthday party coming up (their kids’ party) and they have decided to cook at home to curtail expenses. Time and capability are two major constraints in this case. Their kids are old enough and they are very particular about what they eat and what they offer their friends. Although they are quick learners there is lack of time to research for an ideal treat for a birthday party, the learners are in a panic stage and looking for a quick tutorial. They are at a “pressure point” / having “the itch”, where they are looking for a creative resolution for their concern at the earliest. Importance It is important to have a dish that the kids enjoy and that fulfills the cost, capability, time and health implications. The ingredients for this recipe are easily available at all supermarkets and are affordable. Food is a major expense in a birthday party, hence cooking at home is a great way to curtail this cost. Both the learners are inexperienced in creative cooking, and this training provides a solution to their concern and increases...

Ethical Issues in Business

...Ethical Issues in Business: I and two business associates have decided to start a small consulting business. We will be providing management consulting expertise and service nonprofit organizations. Many of our clients will be paying for this management consultation using federal funds. We intend to have between fifteen and twenty employees in addition to ourselves. We bring with us the highest ethical credentials but we feel that it is imperative that we implement a code of ethics/conduct and require our future employees to use it as a guideline for performing their duties to our clients. The emphasis will weigh heavily on social responsibility and a high standard of ethical thinking. Sometimes the ethical decision is not the most popular decision or the most profitable, but doing the right thing is always the best thing and if we follow this course of action we will be successful as a company and the profits will follow. In this day and age we feel it is vital to have an ethics program in place so that everyone in the company is on the same page morally. Code of Conduct The purpose of a code of conduct is to strengthen the company’s ethical environment and provide an employee format for adherence to certain principles, responsibilities and standards determined by the management. Some of the areas we will incorporate into our Code of Conduct are as follows: (A) Obey laws and regulations: All employees must comply and obey laws that impact...

...Laurie Baird Case Studies 5.1 - 5.2 - 5.3 AIS 4081 Leadership Theory and Practice February 6, 2013 Case 5.1 Questions: 1) According to the basic assumptions of situational leadership, where would you place the three managers in regard to levels of development in the SLII model? Rick Nakano - D4-level. "Seasoned workers with proven abilities and great devotion to a company would be identified as functioning at the D4 level" (Northouse 103). Beth Edwards - Even though she is a manager - she is a D1. "For example, new employees who are very excited but lack understanding of job requirements would be identified as D1-level employees (Northouse 103). Steve Lynch - D3-level - confident on some counts and very insecure on others aspects of his job. 2) If you were Bruce would you act the same toward each of the three managers? I would handle each manager differently on certain aspects. When you know their leadership abilities you need to nurture the lacking characteristics and build them up. According to the descriptions in the case, there are definitely differences in their capabilities. As the owner of the company, being aware of the differences will help to achieve positive results for the company. 3) Which conference would be the hardest for you, and which would be the easiest? Why? The conference with Beth Edwards would be exceptionally difficult. She has an incredible spirit but lacks knowledge. She must be either taught very quickly the information...

Nursing Research Utilization Project Proposal

...Nursing Research Utilization Project Proposal Abstract The issue of controlling and preventing hospital-acquired infections is a major problem in the Healthcare system. Most patients admitted to hospitals are at some risk of contracting a hospital-acquired infection (Paterson, 2012). Some patients are more vulnerable than others; these include the elderly, patients with defective immune systems, and premature babies. Hospital-acquired infections remain a major concern, and they can occur in any care setting, including acute care within hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, clinics, and long-term care facilities (such as nursing homes or rehab centers). Four categories account for 75% of all acquired infections in the acute care hospital setting. These are surgical site infections, central line-associated bloodstream infections, ventilator-associated pneumonia, and catheter-associated urinary tract infections (Nassof, 2009). Urinary tract infections comprise the highest percentage (Paterson, 2012). These infections usually are spread by the contaminated hands of healthcare providers or the patient’s family members. They are also caused by contaminated surfaces or hospital equipment that has not been properly cleaned (Nassof, 2009). The rate of exposure to infectious materials could be reduced if healthcare providers adhered to certain standard precautions such as hand hygiene. The proposal for this nursing research utilization project is to educate nurses on the importance...

...Individual: Project Budget CMGT/410 January 19,2015 Jim Kupferer Individual: Project Budget MEMO: To: Branch Managers CC: From: Date: January 19, 2015 Re: Proposed Budget for Offsite Training Session This memo is to inform all concerned of the budget needed for the upcoming proposed compliance training session. I will include estimates for all hardware, software, documents, airfares, transportation, accommodations, labor, and salaries of those attending the training. The first item on the budget will be the fees for the project manager. It is estimated it will take this person five days to set up the training session. The average salary for a project manager is $96,425 per year (glassdoor, 2014). If this is broken down for just the five days needed to prepare plus the two days of the training session, the estimated cost for the project manager is approximately $2600. Some equipment will need to be rented such as, a screen and projector to show slides during the meeting sessions. The cost for these items are $99 per day (Rental Projectors.Com, 2014), The item will need to be picked up the day before the training sessions and returned the next day. This means the equipment will need to be rented for four day at a cost of $396 and the cost of someone picking up the equipment and then returning it. The average wages for a delivery person is $13.35 per hour, (MyMajors, 2014), and it will take approximately...

Literature Review: Training Implementation and Evaluation

...Summary: The article looks at training programs for group home supervisors that can be used when working with youth that are transitioning from care to independent living. The programs were used in training sessions over the course of 5 months, with eight one-day training sessions. The training sessions took place in Massachusetts. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Children's Bureau funded the project (Collins, Hill, Miranda, 2003, p. 43). The purpose of the training programs were to train group home workers in assisting foster care youth in the transition from care to independent living. The authors realized that there's very little attention paid to staff in group homes and training programs toward supervisors. "The training program was, therefore, designed with the assumptions that community-based group home staff members are fundamental to the preparation of youth for later independence," (Collins et al, 2008, p. 43). The training was in collaboration with a school of social work and public care welfare agency. The attendants include a total of 186 that were mainly group home supervisors and workers. Also in attendance were staff of Massachusetts Department of Social Services Adolescent Outreach Program (Collins et al, 2008, p. 44). The training sessions intentionally took in consideration the challenges of transition youth from care to independent living. Four main topics were covered during the training sessions; positive youth development...
