Hazardous chemical project
Introduction:
One would never expect the everyday products they use could be extremely detrimental to their health. This is what has made triclosan so devastating. Originally crafted for use in hospitals in the 1960’s with the chemical composition shown in the image on the right, Triclosan made its way into products on the market soon after (Brouillette, 2016). Triclosan, while used to protect people from bacteria, actually has very adverse effects after long term exposure. Not only is it used as an antibacterial compound, but as a pesticide as well. It is prominent in many products around the world making the issue of triclosan a global issue. Triclosan was first introduced to fight bacteria to supposedly keep people safer and prevent germs and the spreading of germs. (“Antibacterial Soap? You Can Skip It,” 2016). Since the discovery of the negative effects of triclosan, the FDA has issued a ban on its use in consumer products (Kodjak 2016). Science:
Some of the negative effects of triclosan are that it has the ability to diminish muscle strength and disturb the regular functions of hormone cycles. (Kodjak, 2016). …show more content…
The slight aid provided by using triclosan for antibacterial purposes isn’t worth its serious consequences environmentally and on the health of people as demonstrated in the image comparing toothpaste with and without triclosan. There is uncertainty that antibacterial products actually improve health, so there is no need to undergo the harm caused by triclosan. From this incident, we can learn that chronic studies in the toxicology of triclosan would be beneficial to prevent issues like this because the negative effects are revealed after a long period of time of studying its chemical risks. If experiments on triclosan were conducted for a longer, the carcinogen and endocrine disruptor would’ve been stopped before being introduced to

What is the objective of patients who has an indwelling catheter with anti-microbial agent? Applicability The variables used in this study are silicone catheters. The independent variable used to run this test are pathogens such as Esherichia Coli, Proteus Mirabis, and Klebsiella Pneumaniae and anti-microbial agents are 0.2% Rifampin, 1% Triclosan, and 1% Sparloxacin.(Fisher et al,2015) In this study, there were no actual people samples, but the specimens of fresh sterile urine were obtained from a Urology clinic. Senior Thesis - How to Improve the Environment

...Introduction The world is a place for everyone and everything to live comfortably. In order to fulfill this comfort that we are supposed to have, we have to keep a healthy environment. Everything that everyone does affects the environment, in good and bad ways. There are things that go unnoticed in everyday life that needs to be looked at more seriously in order to improve the environment. Recognizing and correcting the problem and promoting the positive aspects will ultimately improve the environment. In order to maintain a healthy environment, society must become aware of how day-to-day activities impact the environment and they also need to be ready to approach and change such lifestyles. So how can we, as individuals, improve the environment? Why When talking about environment related issues, most people just don’t care; they are only doing enough to get by for themselves. The only concerns they have are paying their bills on time, taking care of their family, keeping their job, and being happy. People are contemplating the fact that they are just one person, and the changes they make won’t make a difference so why should it matter. (Savage) If this mind set of people changes then that one person will turn it to hundreds and thousands of people and differences in the environment will start to be seen.
