The first thing to do when troubleshooting any problem is to ascertain the problem. According to the Beep-Codes charts I found online, (http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/phoenixbeep.htm#), (http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/amibeep.htm), the problem for both instances seems to be with the keyboard controller. The next step in troubleshooting is to write down all the probable causes. I would write down the following probabilities:
• Possible problem with the keyboard controller such as
• Bent pins
• Bad wires
• Controller became disconnected
• Maybe the controller needs to be replaced
• Check for a fuse
I believe this is a hardware issue based on the beep codes. The next step in troubleshooting is to test the theories. The test I would perform would include physically opening the computer to see if I can see anything that is disconnected. I would also look for a fuse for the keyboard controller. The next step is to create and implement a plan. My plan would include checking all the connections for the controller to the motherboard. If those are all intact, my next step would be to replace the controller either with a new part, or using a part from a decommissioned computer. Next I need to verify the process worked. Once replaced, I would boot-up the machine and see if everything works. If the POST checks out, and the keyboard works, then the problem has been solved. In order to prevent this problem in the future, I suppose I would instruct the user to be more careful when moving or working on the machine to avoid any disconnections. Properly documenting the entire process is essential. Referring to this documentation later can help to solve similar problems, as well as show if there are recurring issues with the machine. Depending on the company and the client, documentation processes will vary. Here is an example:

...Write about dns What is dns? It stands for Domain Name Server. It allows you to look up individual server by name and get its IP address. Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland

...Conflict Research Perspectives Northern Ireland & Republic of Ireland Rhett S. Close HUMN 305, Global Issues Professor Bakkum March 10, 2015 Conflict Research Perspectives Northern Ireland & Republic of Ireland “The Troubles” as commonly known to the people of Ireland is the conflict that has been raging between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland since the 1960’s. This conflict has been defined as a religious one between the Republic of Ireland (Catholic) and Northern Ireland (Protestant). The more recognized believe that it is in reference to the political issue of separating from Britain such as the Republic did or staying “loyal to the crown” as Northern Ireland has. The final point is the hostile actions that both sides have committed in defense of their positions (Hammer, 2009). Both sides make arguments to why the other has been the source of the problem. In the following paragraphs, we will look at each side’s arguments and present the facts as they are known. Republic of Ireland The Republic of Ireland has a vivid memory of the ethnic and religious persecution they endured by their British rulers. There has been a long history of violence and discrimination based on the religious choices and their ethnic background. This is a modern example of religious and ethnic bigotry in a first world country. Citizens were afraid to practice their religion or to be affiliated with their home land based on the violence that may occur. A primary...

Bloody Sunday

...1 1. Introduction 1.1. Bloody Sunday Sunday the 27th of January 1972 became known as the Bloody Sunday. This Sunday represents a very important point in the history of the partition of Ireland and the relationship between England and Northern Ireland. 14 people had been shot and another 13 wounded by British soldiers during a protest in the northern Irish city Derry for civil rights and against the British occupation policy on this very Sunday. To begin with, the students are supposed to get to know some basic facts about the divided Ireland. In this one lesson, it is not about representing the topic in all of its details. To a greater degree, it is about approaching the topic particularly with regard to war and peace. The children shall know, what happened on Bloody Sunday and they should be able to classify the events into the historical-cultural background.1 1.2. Disseminating Organizational It Security & Trouble Shooting

...Disseminating Organizational IT Security & Trouble Shooting When we talk about the increase security with proper authentication policies; infrastructure security is more than just firewalls and security patches. Most IT environments have some type of remote access. VPN, e-mail, and many other services expose your user accounts to the world. This article will focus on how to deal with user accounts of your current and former employees. Proper password aging policies will naturally take care of old or unused accounts. The idea behind password aging is that after a certain amount of time, a password expires. A password is less prone to compromise if it is changed frequently. Likewise, if an account is compromised, its usefulness will be limited to the amount of time left before the expiry timer concludes. Aging account passwords can reduce exposure if brute-force, social engineering, or sniffing attempts are successful. The strength of the password itself is also extremely important. It is imperative that the systems requiring users to change their passwords also enforce some level of strictness with regards to what passwords are accepted. An un-guessable password makes brute-force attacks the premiere method by which accounts are compromised mostly ineffective. An exhaustive brute-force attack will eventually discover all passwords, given enough time, but the idea is to use a password of sufficient length, so that it can’t be guessed in a reasonable amount of attempts. The successful...

...Scholarship Essay Q&A 1) List 3-5 extra-curricular activities and tell why they are important to you. Having the experience of playing varsity sports has brought a new light on how I perceived teamwork. What does it mean to be a part of a team? Teamwork is such a vital part of our everyday lives. Without teamwork, on is not prepared to handle situations where cooperation is needed to complete a task. Teamwork and cooperation are two significant qualities that many need to have in their lives to face the daily troubles of the “real world.” Varsity tennis and basketball are two experiences that have taught me to work with others in such a way that is useful and time-efficient. Throughout high school, I have been given several opportunities to go and reach out to those in my surrounding community. Mira Mesa High School has a program called the Outreach Dinner that occurs every year right around Thanksgiving assisting and providing the homeless and less fortunate people of San Diego County with free meals, dessert, and drinks. For two consecutive years, I have participated in this event and held significant positions each time. During my first year joining the Outreach Dinner, I was the head of the waiters/waitresses and their assistants who helped set up, serve the food and drinks to homeless, and clean up the tables and disposable plates. In addition to that, we were encouraged to speak with the guests and provide hospitality. In the second year, I volunteered...

Leaving Belfast

...LEAVING BELFAST Leaving Belfast is a poem by Andrew Motion (1952 - …) an English poet, novelist and biographer. The story seems to be situated in Belfast, the capital city of Northern Ireland, which had been the scene of various episodes of sectarian conflict between its Roman Catholic and Protestant populations at that time. These opposing groups in this conflict are now often termed republican and loyalist respectively, although they are also referred to as 'nationalist' and 'unionist'. The most recent example of this conflict was known as the Troubles, a civil conflict that raged from around 1969 to the late 1990s, with rival paramilitary groups formed on both sides. Bombing, assassination and street violence formed a backdrop to life throughout the Troubles. Much of the population escaped from Belfast during this time because the situation became insufferable, one of them was Andrew Motion, who, for this time and in the shape of a poem, tries to show us the feelings that came to him when he leaved his city. We can assume this fact of Andrew Motion going or escaping from a place called Belfast looking at the title of the poem, which is called “Leaving Belfast”. The word leaving is a gerund which means to go out of or away from and implies some kind of movement. Belfast as I have said is the capital city of Northern Ireland in which Andrew Motion lived. Starting to analyze the poem I have to say that the poem is composed by 7 stanzas, each of them formed by 4 lines. ...

...When I think about the years that I’ve spent in high school, they sort of blend together and become a blur. I remember bits and pieces it all seems like it happened at the same time. I never thought that the years would go by so quickly, but as fast as it was I still learned a lot from the experiences I had. There were times when I didn’t think I’d make anything of myself, and times when I felt like I could do anything. As much as I hated some of the things I went through in high school, I’m glad they happened because without them I wouldn’t me who I am right now. I always wanted to be someone who could excel at everything. I was always jealous of people like that; I admired them for their perseverance. As much as I tried I always seemed to be average at most of the things that I did. Over this summer I had time to get my priorities straight. The fact that this is my last year, sort of scared me into getting my act together and doing what needs to be done. I am the slacker no more. I will not procrastinate. I am more than an average student. The technologically advanced environment that is ACLC was something totally new to me. I mean I had used computers in school before, but I had never thought there was a school filled with them. The fact that there were all of these computers was fascinating, but learning all of the things that you could do with them was even better. Canning as a Solution

...involving students in schools nationwide. We need to find an explanation for this rise in disciplinary problems, in order to find the ideal solution for the problem. By my knowledge, we can clearly relate the rise in disciplinary problems with the withdrawal of caning, or any sort of physically inflicted pain, as a punishment for students. What I mean is, when students don’t get punished, they will get into more trouble in the future. Based on this, I fully agree that caning is an effective way to punish students. This is where caning can be part of the solution. Please, let me explain. Students get into trouble because it is their nature to make lots of mistakes and learn through them. Yes, they learn new and important things in life through mistakes. It is okay to make one or two mistakes once in a while, but when a student gets into trouble, or keeps repeating the same mistakes one too many times, this indicates a problem. Maybe the student does not realize that he is causing trouble, or hurting other people. For all we know he might even be enjoying causing trouble. If this student is not punished, he is certain to do more harm again, and this is not good for everybody. As a solution, caning will make the student realize that what he is doing is wrong, and that he should never make this mistake again. As you can see, caning becomes part of the long-term solution to shape a student’s...

Irish Republican Army

...IRISH REPUBLICAN ARMY (THE I.R.A.) 1.0 Background and History The I.R.A. has been around for some time. Activist militant Irishmen joined Feniean brotherhoods, organization that evolved into the Sinn Fein and it militant wing, the Irish Republican Army, which was founded in 1858. Money to support these movements came from Irishmen abroad, many of them having worked their way to influential positions in American trade unions. In 1867, anti-English sentiments were inflamed when a mob in Manchester, England attacked a police van in an attempt to free two Irish-American members of the pro-Irish-separatist Fenian Brotherhood. A policeman was killed and three members of group were executed after a controversial trial. The armed Fenian rebellion of 1867 was quickly put down by the British and turned out to be a dismal failure. Most of Ireland's revolutionaries were not from the embittered working classes or rural poor. Rather they were landowners, members of Parliament, and middle class professionals. Some were educated at Cambridge and Oxford. Belfast mural The Irish Republican Army (the I.R.A.) is Catholic-based paramilitary group whose objectives were to drive the British out of Northern Ireland and reunify Northern Ireland with Ireland. The I.R.A. was committed to the use of the violence to achieve these goals. The logic seemed to be that if they blow up enough buildings and killed enough people, the British and the their supporters would give up and leave Northern Ireland...

History

...Why were the activities of the Apprentice Boys a source of tension in Derry? 70% of the population of Derry is Catholic and 30% Protestant. Despite this, through a process of gerrymandering and discrimination, the city council has been dominated by unionist politicians since the foundation of Northern Ireland in 1920. The Apprentice Boys were a unionist body who engaged in triumphalist marches and for decades contributed to the domination of the city by unionists. In these circumstances it is hardly surprising that their activities caused tension in the city of Derry. The Apprentice Boys of Derry was formed to commemorate the victory of the Williamite forces at the siege of Derry in 1688. Thirteen apprentice boys had shut the city’s gates in the face of advancing Catholic troops under the command of King James. The Apprentice Boys of Derry have two main parades in Derry each year, one parade along the city'’ walls on 12 August and a commemorative closing of the gates in December. The Apprentice Boys parades were a reminder to Protestants of a Protestant victory over Catholic forces. At the same time the parades were also a reminder to Catholics of a defeat and of ongoing discrimination and gerrymandering in the city. The practice during parades of throwing coins from the city’s walls into the Catholic Bogside area added further to Catholic anger and opposition to the Apprentice Boys. Given the level of discrimination in Derry and the use of gerrymandering by Unionists...
