From statement A: x = 2y + 5 We cannot find the exact values of x and y. Hence, Statement A alone is not sufficient. From statement B: 0.4x = y We cannot find the exact values of x and y. Hence, Statement B alone is not sufficient. From statements A and B: Solving, we get x = 25 and y = 10. So the total number of students in the class = 35 Hence, both the statements together are required to answer the question. Let’s draw AF perpendicular to BC. In ∆ADE, as AD = AE ∠AED = ∠ADE = 60° ⇒ ∠DAE = 60° Hence, we can conclude that ∆ADE is an equilateral triangle. ⇒ AF = 3 × 4 = 2 3 cm and DF = FE = 2 cm 2 In ∆ABF, using Pythagoras’ Theorem, AB = AF2 + BF2 = (2 3)2 + 42 = 2 7 cm. 5. a As ‘a’ and ‘b’ are the roots of the given equation, a2 + 7a + 4 = 0 and b2 + 7b + 4 = 0. #### Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde

...is revealed. Therefore, we confront the theory of a dual human nature explicitly only after having witnessed all of the events of the novel, including Hyde’s crimes and his ultimate eclipsing of Jekyll. The text not only posits the duality of human nature as its central theme but forces us to ponder the properties of this duality and to consider each of the novel’s episodes as we weigh various theories. Jekyll asserts that “man is not truly one, but truly two,” and he imagines the human soul as the battleground for an “angel” and a “fiend,” each struggling for mastery. But his potion, which he hoped would separate and purify each element, succeeds only in bringing the dark side into being—Hyde emerges, but he has no angelic counterpart. Once unleashed, Hyde slowly takes over, until Jekyll ceases to exist. If man is half angel and half fiend, one wonders what happens to the “angel” at the end of the novel. Perhaps the angel gives way permanently to Jekyll’s devil. Or perhaps Jekyll is simply mistaken: man is not “truly two” but is first and foremost the primitive creature embodied in Hyde, brought under tentative control by civilization, law, and conscience. According to this theory, the potion simply strips away the civilized veneer, exposing man’s essential nature. Certainly, the novel goes out of its way to paint Hyde as animalistic—he is hairy and ugly; he conducts himself according to instinct rather than reason; Utterson describes him as a “troglodyte,” or primitive......

While Aragorn II Elessar, Legolas the elf, and Gimli the dwarf search for Peregin Took and Meriadoc Brandybuck, most commonly known as Merry and pippin. It all starts with Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli searching for Merry and Pippin. The three adventurers go off through the fields tracking down those two hobbits that have been captured by the nasty orcs. The leader of the orcs is none other than the huge appalling Ugluk. He leads his team of orcs, which are known as the Uruk-hai Scouts, to Isengard. That way Saruman could have the hobbits and find out where the ring is. Their plan taking the hobbits to Isengard ended faster than they had expected for they were attacked by Rohirrim. The orcs tried to fight valiantly, but it still ended in ruins for they could not putt up a good fight because they were being shot at by arrows, and their enemy was behind trees on horseback so they couldn’t determine where they were most of the time. While the Orcs were fighting the Rohirrims, Merry and Pippin started to sneak away from the orcs clutches. They successfully escape and begin to head into the......

#### Henri Boulangerie

...Henri Boulangerie: Creating and Using a Master Budget BACKGROUND PART I: CREATING THE BUDGET MEETINGS WITH DIVISIONAL MANAGERS Henri Boulangerie is a medium-sized regional bakery that specializes in providing orders to grocery and convenience stores. Because of the popularity of its brand, it has also opened a small café for walk-in business. In order to maintain its high quality standard, Henri produces only three products: breakfast muffins, fresh bread, and chocolate chip cookies. Although business has been good in the past few years, a lucky contact with a large chain has recently allowed it to expand its brand out of the local region. Growth has been high since the new contract went into effect. Andy Griff, the chief executive officer (CEO) and founder, has arranged a meeting with a venture capital firm next week. Hopefully the meeting will result in the sale of some of Henri’s stock and an opportunity to establish a significant line of credit with the venture capital firm. These extra funds, if Andy can secure them, should provide sufficient money to meet Henri’s growth targets for the next few years. The venture capital firm’s assessment team has asked Andy to provide a quarterly master budget for the year that just began, complete with pro forma financial statements, at the meeting. They have expressed special interest in Henri’s earnings per share (EPS), cash flow from operations, and profit margins, indicating that good numbers in......

#### Deep Residual Learning for Image Recognition

...Deep Residual Learning for Image Recognition Kaiming He Xiangyu Zhang Shaoqing Ren Microsoft Research Jian Sun Deeper neural networks are more difficult to train. We present a residual learning framework to ease the training of networks that are substantially deeper than those used previously. We explicitly reformulate the layers as learning residual functions with reference to the layer inputs, instead of learning unreferenced functions. We provide comprehensive empirical evidence showing that these residual networks are easier to optimize, and can gain accuracy from considerably increased depth. On the ImageNet dataset we evaluate residual nets with a depth of up to 152 layers—8× deeper than VGG nets [41] but still having lower complexity. An ensemble of these residual nets achieves 3.57% error on the ImageNet test set. This result won the 1st place on the ILSVRC 2015 classification task. We also present analysis on CIFAR-10 with 100 and 1000 layers. The depth of representations is of central importance for many visual recognition tasks. Solely due to our extremely deep representations, we obtain a 28% relative improvement on the COCO object detection dataset. Deep residual nets are foundations of our submissions to ILSVRC & COCO 2015 competitions1 , where we also won the 1st places on the tasks of ImageNet detection, ImageNet localization, COCO detection, and COCO segmentation. 20 10 56-layer test error (%) 20 Abstract training...

#### “the Dark Knight of a Postmodern World”

...“The Dark Knight” is a film based on DC comic book character Batman and his fight to protect his home, Gotham City, from the antagonist, the Joker. Director Chris Nolan provides the viewer with not only an action film, but also a thought-provoking masterpiece. The film focuses on the thin line between sanity (Batman) and madness (Joker) and how anyone can easily turn from good to evil, the example being Harvey Dent becoming Two-Face in such a short time. The film deconstructs previous ideas of the “hero” by portraying Batman not as a hero, but as an “anti-hero”. He appears to be the hero, but possesses no superpowers and also causes mayhem in his city, much like a villain would. The Joker represents postmodernism because he threatens our “givens” (Instead of soldiers who are allowed to die, threaten the mayor and hospitals). He makes people question everything, creating chaos. The Joker also represents post-modern beliefs because he challenges our idea of the conventional villain, who is supposed to represent pure evil, by comparing himself to the hero, Batman, using such examples as how they are both freaks to society and how they were both created by one bad day. The most important instance of post-modern values is the Jokers entire character. He believes the average man lives with a bloated sense of humanity’s importance and a frail and useless notion of order and sanity. He sees human existence as mad, random, and pointless and the world as a psychotic carnival of......

#### The Art of War for Women

...Introduction This book is a reiteration of Sun Tzu’s philosophy from the ancient book The Art of War which is one of the oldest and most successful books on military strategy. It influenced eastern military thinking and emphasized the most efficient way of gaining victory with the least amount of conflict. The original text is purposely made obscure and difficult to understand, so that Sun Tzu remained employed, as the king would need him for interpretation. Although it has a mixture of profound philosophy and detailed tactical prescriptions that are great for battles about 2500 years ago, the book is also useful today. The teaching of Sun Tzu is powerful: it will not only instruct us, but also reveal where we stand and how to approach a problem, how to deal with adversity, and how to handle the whims of fate. The author, Chin-Ning Chu, perfectly applied Sun Tzu’s theory to integrate our styles and personal philosophy into every action we take. She provided examples, references, and anecdotes that were not available in the original book The Art of War. This book is written particularly for women because women have the ability to negotiate and they are able to be modest and understand that silence is golden. This book will guide us to use the full spectrum of the strategies that are contained in Sun Tzu’s The Art of War with a holistic approach to winning. This book contains 13 chapters and our team covered chapter 1 through 6. Book......

...massive companies and businesses. The biggest problem they are facing is the turnover rate; which has increased in the last four months to over 64%. The employees are discouraged at BIMS, performance is low, there has been an increase in the use of sick leave, and the complaints from clients have increased. In order to find the root of the problem the company will run a survey among the workers asking questions such as: how they feel about the company, and questions regarding the low morale at work. The hypothesis is that employees do not feel content with the shifts and the low salaries. Instruments for Data Collection The instrument used for the data collection is a survey. The survey is given to all employees of BIMS in their paychecks. The survey has several questions where the employees is asked to rank the level on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 the worst and 5 the best. The survey also has questions regarding gender, length of employment, and level of employment. The survey is optional and will give the employer an idea of how employees feel. The employees may answer some questions and not others. The survey will provide answers to what areas the employer needs to improve on, to increase moral.
