What was the most import thing in the interview?

“Most: Understand ADDIE model and don’t stop with A.”

Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and evaluation are contained within every design model. You have to be able to understand and articulate it. It is very important to understand that you have to follow the phases even if the company or the institution that you work for does not use them, they steps still have to be followed if you want to be effective especially since they should be a part of all designs.

What was something you agree with in the reading?

“Agree: There are certain elements needed to make a person successful in an online class: 1) depends on how the course is set up, 2) training material, 3, we analyze who our learners are.” …show more content…
I believe this allows the faculty to concentrate on their student learning objectives.

What was something you do not agree with in the reading?

“Not agree: Dr. Summerville stated that you have to have the drive and the passion, and you should feel secure in the knowledge of what you are learning.”

I agree and disagree. I agree with the passion pieces, however, it was hard to determine something that she stated that I didn’t agree with. The only part would be that you don’t necessarily have to have the drive, but you should know what is important, and you should be able to explain to others what you are doing. She had a large client bases, and it was good that she was able to communicate to them effectively.

What was something you found interesting in the interview?

...into design and development. Evaluation is a central feature of ISD and is performed in each phase. The phases are: Phase 1: Analysis –Determine if training is the appropriate solution; if so, define training requirements Phase 2: Design – Define objectives, design the training program, and select training methods and media. Phase 3: Development- Develop all training materials in accordance with design. Conduct pilot training classes. Refine course, as necessary. Phase 4: Implementation – Implementing training, evaluate, and refine. Phase 5: Evaluation – Performed during development, during implementation, immediately after training, and six months or more after training. Most training design models contain five steps. One of the most commonly used models is the ADDIE model, which stands for analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Analysis stands for needs analysis, where the need for the training is studied. Design is the phase where the training program is outlined and planned. Development is where the training is rolled out to the field in whatever form the design phase stipulated. Evaluation concludes the process and measures how effective the training program was at achieving its goals. Design is the phase of the...

Instructional Design and Process Flow for First-Line Supervisors at Thomas Company

...Instructional Design and Process Flow for First-Line Supervisors at Thomas Company SYSTEMATIC DESIGN APPROACH The flow of processes of instructional design is based on the ADDIE model. The first step in the process is to analyze needs. Instructional Design cannot be carried out properly without first knowing the needs of the target audience. (Addie, n.d.) The design continues with design of the program, implementation of the program, and evaluation. There are paths included for stakeholders to provide feedback regarding changes in training needs and for the instructional design team to update with changes as needed. FUNCTIONALITY AND RATIONALE Human Resources gathers data at the beginning of the year and provides necessary information to the Division Managers, who process the data and determine needs for the new year. Gathering feedback from the Division Managers provides an opportunity to insure that training needs will be met by the Instructional Design team. There are multiple opportunities given for feedback, as instructional design is always a fluid process that never ends. (ADDIE: An Introduction, n.d.) If there is no communication regarding data and needs between Human Resources (based at headquarters), and the Divisions, there could be a lack of continuity and consistency in training. Headquarters should be responsible for all training information that is to be learned company-wide. Each Division may have its own needs that must be addressed at the Division...

Coparision and Contrast of Evaluation

...COMPARISON AND CONTRAST OF THE PRIMARY FOCUS, METHODS & TOOLS OF INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN, CURRICULUM DESIGN, & PROGRAM EVALUATION ADDIE model: ADDIE is an effective tool used by instructors to design and develop instruction material. It is very famous tool adapted by many instructors because of its flexibility as it can be modified as and whenever required by the instructor. This model was developed in 1970 for U.S army for educational technology by Florida State University’s Center. It’s a systematic model for instruction comprising of five phases: 1) Analysis 2) Design 3) Development 4) Implementation 5) Evaluation Phases of ADDIE: 1) Analysis: During the analysis phase, the learner’s goals, objectives and learning problems are identified by the instructor. The learning environment, modes of imparting the knowledge and any other constrain are also observed by the instructor. 2) Design: This is the next sequential stage in the ADDIE model where a blue print or prototype of the learning material is made catering to the needs of the learner. A detailed systematic design is created for the user here. 3) Development: Actual creation of the learning material It could be an integration of various tools and technologies. Developing the procedure for the maximum learning outcome is focused on this phase. 4) Implementation: The designed plan is put into action in this phase for the learner by imparting knowledge through the planned tools and activities. 5) Evaluation:...

Instructional Design Analysis The definition of Instructional Design is a systematic way to develop instructional materials that are structured well by using objectives, related teaching strategies, systematic feedback and evaluation. It can also be defined as the scientific way to create detail oriented specifications for the design, development, evaluation, and maintenance of instructional material, which facilitates performance and learning. According to Wilson, (2004) instructional design can be defined as a technology, a science, an art or a craft. The instructional designer observes what is happening and collects empirical data in order to improve a particular topic. Empirical data is what the designer observes with their eyes and ears. Accounting Principles Related to Nursing

...Lesson Plan: Electronic Medical Charting NUR/588 May 19, 2014 Bianca Needham Professor Gail Wolf Identification of the educational need and rationale: The implementation of electronic documentation for medical records, medications, and nursing flow sheets has replaced the existing paper documentation and is currently the educational need with the highest priority for the Emergency Department at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center. In a continuous care operation, it is critical to document each patient’s condition and history of care, to ensure the patient receives the best available care. The medical record documents the care of the patient and can immediately be accessed, updated, and passed among the interdisciplinary team of caregivers. The Emergency Department is the initial passageway to the hospital for most patients. Electronic documentation is a patient’s health information including medications, allergies, past and present illnesses, and family history can be gathered upon their initial presentation and up-to-the minute revisions can be made by the healthcare team throughout their hospital stay. The Electronic Medical Record/Charting can be designed to hold collaborative information from all providers that are involved in the patients’ care. With each subsequent visit thereafter, the patient’s demographic, insurance, and health history database will automatically pre-fill the electronic template alleviating nurses of time restraints...

Training for a Better Organization

...Training for a better organization Employees in today’s organization are under mounting pressure to do more with less. Organizations face constant change in response to fierce global competition and the introduction of new technologies (Nilson, 1999). As organizations scramble to rethink and out perform their competition the very nature of work is changing. Rothwell, et al (2003) states many CEOs today understand the value of learning and can articulate how a better-skilled workforce helps the organization grow and succeed. They expect learning and development to support the organization's strategies, and to prepare employees to implement the direction the company needs to take to grow. As the workplace learning and performance profession has increasingly earned its seat at the strategic table and become a business partner, the need to develop that foundational competency has become more pronounced (Meier, 2000). WLP professionals must understand key functions of the business, such as finance, marketing, operations, leadership, strategy, and talent, as these areas represent the core business knowledge that will allow them to take on broader leadership responsibilities and add value to their organizations. An important part of building business skills trying to understanding learning effects on the organization, and communicating those effects. Business leaders expect accountability not only for training and development budgets, but also for the results of learning initiatives...

Isd Project Proposal

...Introduction I chose to use the ISD model ADDIE for this project. I chose ADDIE because, to me, it is the most straightforward approach to instructional design. In ADDIE, there are five basic categories. These are Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluation. My analysis included learner analysis and needs analysis. These are described more in depth below. The design and development of the project was to create a Mary Kay Skin Care class that I can use throughout my Mary Kay career. Mary Kay has examples provided to independent consultants, but I wanted a skin care class that represented me and was original. My development included creating an original skin care class that I felt was correlated with my instructor style. In the implementation of the class, I actually taught the class to two groups of young ladies, aged 16-28, at my house. Each of the ladies was transitioning from a teen skin care to the adult skin care. The instructional objective was “My learners will be able to complete a skin care regiment in sequential order, based on their skin type and time of day (morning or night).” The class was very hands-on and allowed the ladies to participate in a skin care regiment that was relevant to their needs. It took about 60 minutes for the learners to complete the training, excluding the question and answer session at the end. Finally, the evaluation was conducted as a game through which the participants had to recall the skin care regiment in order...

Hospital Abc Case Study

...1.0 Recruitment & Retention Plan Recruitment refers to the process of attracting, screening and selecting qualified people for a position within an organization (Sheryl & Amy, 2012). According to the case study, the major issue is the difficulty in attracting new employees. To be more specific, Hospital ABC found that there are still vacancies in critical areas that have yet to be filled up. Even with extended block, the Hospital will have difficulty attracting good employees as there are many other private hospitals competing for the same pool of talent. These hospitals are not afraid to pay above average market rates to secure these employees. Organizations within the healthcare industry are competing for qualified applicants to safeguard future growth. As such, there is a need for organizations to analyze the existing market competition for talent and create the corresponding responses in terms of competitive reward packages. The recruitment policies of the competitors also affect the recruitment function of the organizations. To face the competition, many organizations have to change their recruitment policies according to the policies being followed by the other competitors. The recruitment policy of an organization states the objectives of recruitment and provides a structure for implementation of recruitment program. Of primary importance is to ensure the organization’s recruitment plan is reaching out to the right talent pool in filling open roles. At the same time...

...Kemp, Dick and Carey design models for Instructional Design for instructional design are very important because they can provide a procedural way of establishing or implementing the instructional design process for a particular initiative of education. There exists several instructional design models which illustrates the ID process meant for dissimilar settings and situations .The aim of these instructional design models is to give training and educational organizational design process, guidelines for management and collaboration of teamwork options with designers, clients and technicians. A model in general can be described as a pattern or example that prescribes relationships in a normative sense. A model can also serve as a communication and visual tool to assist in conceptualizing complicated instructional design process or schematics as well as how the various elements and stages relate to each other. It should be noted that the application of the model relies on the instructional scenario, problem or task. To make sure that there is a procedural way of establishing the instructional design process for a particular educational initiative, instructional design should be used. This is because they serve as important tools of learning and they make the work of teachers easier. According to Carey and Carey (2001), ...instructional design can be defined as the systematic method for analyzing, designing, developing, evaluating and managing the instructional process efficiently;...

...NAME : ADMIN NO : DIT-035-0181/ UNIT : SOFTWRE ENGINEERING TOPIC : CONTINOUS PROCESS CONTROL Continuous Process Improvement Quality is a never ending quest and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) is a never ending effort to discover and eliminate the main causes of problems. It accomplishes this by using small-steps improvements, rather than implementing one huge improvement. The Japanese have a term for this called kaizen which involves everyone, from the hourly workers to top-management. CPI means making things better. It is NOT fighting fires. Its goal is NOT to blame people for problems or failures. . . it is simply a way of looking at how we can do our work better. When we take a problem solving approach, we often never get to the root causes because our main goal is to put out the fire. But when we engage in process improvement, we seek to learn what causes things to happen and then use this knowledge to: * Reduce variation. * Remove activities that have no value to the organization. * Improve customer satisfaction. Process improvement is important as Rummler & Brache's research (1995) showed that process account for about 80% of all problems while people account for the remaining 20%. Steering Committee and CPI Teams One way to get CPI started is to set up a Steering Committee (SC). Although everyone in the organization is responsible for CPI, the SC follows all ideas from conception to completion. Some...

...Metabical After spending millions of dollars for ten years in research and development, Metabical was finally able to receive FDA approval, making it the first and only drug to receive FDA approval to meet the needs of customers who have been trying to lose weight. Like with any other new product, numerous issues need to be considered before Metabical is actually introduced in the market. Decisions about pricing, packaging and demand forecast of the product are key to the success of Metabical. Barbara Printup, senior director of marketing for CSP, needs to analyze the market critically in order to decide the pricing and packaging strategy and forecast the demand for the product before it is launched. The demand forecast and the pricing and packaging strategies all plays a significant role in determining the long-term success of Metabical because the drug market is intensely competitive and only those products which are marketed with innovative strategies can survive in the market. Packaging decision is the first thing that needs to be taken care of. Since FDA trials showed that most of the people were able to achieve their weight loss goals by week twelve, the drug would be approved as a twelve- week treatment plan. The major issue that Printup needs to consider is the number of pills that would be included in each pack. Packing the entire twelve- week supply in one package does sound like a good plan but CSP should not forget that packaging plan directly ties in with the...
