Cooper Run
This test is a twelve minute run and it tests how far you can run in that time. To do this test the equipment that you will need is an area to run on, a 400 metre track is ideal, a stopwatch so you can time the twelve minutes, an assistant and a whistle.
How to do the test; the athlete needs to warm up so they are ready. The assistant will say ‘go’ and start the stopwatch for twelve minutes. The assistant should tell the runner how long is left after each lap. When the twelve minutes is over the assistant will blow the whistle and will record the distance that the athlete has covered.

Advantages of this test are that not a lot of equipment is needed. It is simple to set up and conduct. More than one …show more content…
It can be sued to see how much strength and power an individual has. It is commonly used in weight training because they need to see how much they can lift and see if they are improving. The one repetition max test that we did was on a bench press, it tests the strength in the upper body; the triceps, biceps and the pectorals.
The purpose of this test is to see how strong some muscles are. It is a popular test that measures isotonic muscles strength. During this test it is important to reach your maximum weight that you can lift in one repetition, for example fifty kilograms. The maximum weight that is lifted is recorded. A disadvantage of one repetition max is that performing a weight that is heavy can only be done with training. Also before trying this test a good technique is needed otherwise it is very hard.

Health and Social Care Unit 2 P5 M3

...Health and Social Care Unit 2 P5 M3 For this piece of coursework I will be describing how anti-discriminatory practice is promoted in health and social care settings. I will also be discussing the difficulties that may arise when implementing anti-discriminatory practice There are many ways in which to promote anti-discriminatory practice that are effective and have minimal chance of failure, the first way is staff training. This can be effective as it gives the workers an insight in how this practice is shown and ways to identify it, it informs them of how to prevent it and stop it from happening again. Training gives them a clear structure to follow to deal with this practice and how to avoid breaking the law. Training also puts the worker in the client’s shoes and shows them the effects of discrimination in hope to deter them from doing it again. Another way health organizations promote anti-discriminatory practice is by making sure they are welcoming for everyone; they do this by commutating to people in their preferred way whether it be Arabic to sign language. If they are unable to provide this service they should find someone who can, i.e. a translator. They should also take in to consideration the different beliefs and values the service users may have, this would be beneficial as it makes the user feel valued and respected, and they are made to feel s if they are at the heart of service. For example a client who is Muslim, letting them practice their religion...
