...The difference in the cost of RAM and ROM in today’s market as well as where is where it came from and where it is going is pretty amazing. It’s easy to find information on this subject as the demand for faster computers with huge memory seems to grow and profit from this demand. Ten years ago you would have spent over $2,000 to get just 1GB of RAM. As computer manufacturers recoup cost of R&D, the prices start to drop. Today it would cost around $20 to purchase the same 1GB of DDR3 providing considerable savings over a decade ago. The best deal for the money is 2GB of RAM which costs around $40 and is enough memory to run most applications. There are other types of memory available to all of us if you’re willing to pay the price of admission. For example, some of the more exotic types of RAM can still run hundreds, even thousands of dollars. For instance, I found Super Talent 1TB STT RAID DRIVE GS RAID0 for $4,815.00 on Memory Suppliers.com. They also offer iRam 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 SDRAM PC2-5300 667MHz for $119.00. I find this is a very nice web site that is easy to navigate through and find and compare the memory you’re looking for. The following table is from Archive Builders web site. It shows the growth to cost difference for 32 years. This was determined by the increase of the density of disks by 60% a year with an average decrease in price of 37.5%. The 60% increase is based on the growth predictions for MR head technology by IBM, which had increased...

Nt-1110 Unit 6 Research Paper

...Matt Bristow NT-1110 Unit 6 Research Paper NAS Devices NAS is an acronym for Network-Attached Storage. It is basically a file-level computer built for data storage connected to a computer network providing data access to any computer connected to that network. The speed for any particular NAS device varies from 1 gigabit all the way up to 10 gigabits depending on what upgrades a pc has such as an upgraded network cards. The capacity range for NAS devices also depend solely on the budget set forth. It can be a low range system with 500 gigabytes, all the way up to a wallet-busting 16 terabytes. The fault tolerances when set at RAID 10 are the most stable since more devices can fail while protecting against any potential data loss. The advantages of an NAS device are that since it is a dedicated file storage device, accessing said data is a lot faster than typical in-pc hard drives. Another advantage would be the amount of storage you're capable of having. It far outpaces pc's in storage capabilities because all it is built for is storage. For a family with a lot of pictures or videos, the advantages are that any computer connected to the NAS device can access them. It's a library for any media/documents/or anything else you can think of that can be accessed at any time by any pc connected to it. They might be pricey for a casual pc user but when dealing with multiple pc's connected to a single network, an NAS device would be the perfect option when space becomes an...

...Unit 6 Lab 1: DNA Fingerprinting Arielle Chambers Ms. A. Wain ITT Technical Institute SC 2730 9 February 2015 1. What kinds of patient samples are used for the purpose of identifying possible pathogens? a. Fluid from lymph nodes b. Stool sample c. Urine sample d. Blood sample e. Sputum sample 2. What does PCR do, how does it work, and why is it useful? PCR is also known as the Polymerase Chain Reaction, it is a fast and inexpensive way to amplify small segments of DNA (genome.gov). PCR works by amplifying a segment of DNA, the sample is heated first the DNA denatures, or separates into two pieces of single-stranded DNA (genome.gov). After that an enzyme called Taq polymerase synthesizes builds two new strands of DNA, it uses the original strands as templates (genome.gov). The process results in the duplication of the original DNA, each of the new molecules contain one old and one new strand of DNA (genome.gov). Each of these strands can be used to create two new copies, and so on, and so on. The cycle of denaturing and synthesizing new DNA is repeated as many as 30 or 40 times, leading to more than one billion exact copies of the original DNA segment (genome.gov).The entire cycling process of PCR is automated and can be completed in just a few hours. It is directed by a machine called a thermo cycler; it is programmed to alter the temperature of the reaction every few minutes to allow DNA denaturing and synthesis (genome.gov). PCR is useful...

We have been recently approach by a Jordanian soft drink manufacturer that is smaller in size and has no experience in the global market. This manufacturer is said to have ties to the Jordanian Royal family. As Ravi is a person of Iranian descent, he feels that it would be a benefit to create jobs and provide financial stability to the economy. In my researches of the Lebanese economy I have found out that they run a free market economy with a strong laissez-faire commercial tradition. I have uncovered some issues that may pose a threat for the global image of the Zip 6 organization. This area suffers from corruption, arbitrary licensing decisions, complex customs procedures, high taxes and tariffs, and finally weak intellectual property rights. Some of these issues that I see with the current state of the economy could be something that is discharged because of the ties with the royal family. As a world leader in soft drink manufacturing, I believe that these economic risks are a potential threat to the Zip 6 organization. One issue that I see as a huge problem is the weak intellectual property rights...

Unit 6

...Unit 6: The Digestive System Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Tatianna Fulton ITT Technical Institute The digestive system is made up of many organs that play a role in the process of turning the food you eat into nutrients, which is used for energy, growth, and cell repair. Some of these organs also play a part in creating waste to be eliminated. The beginning of the digestive system starts in your mouth where you chew and breakdown food into pieces small enough to be digested. The throat receives food from the mouth which then goes through the esophagus to get to your stomach. The stomach is where food is held but also secretes acid to continue the process of breaking down food, changing it to a liquid or paste, food then moves to the small intestine where some nutrients from the food is absorbed and helps breakdown food more. The next organ is the large intestine that is responsible for the processing waste so that defecation is easy and suitable to exit through the rectum. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid flows back into your esophagus, the reflux irritates the lining of your esophagus and causes GERD. GERD symptoms include a burning sensation in your chest, sometimes spreads to the throat, chest pain, difficulty swallowing, dry cough, hoarseness or sore throat. If you have to take heartburn meds more than twice a week or experience frequent GERD symptoms, then you need to see a doctor. “When you swallow, the lower esophageal sphincter relaxes...
