Unwanted Totalitarianism in both Ayn Rands biography and her novella Anthem connects to a similar theme, the importance of individuals. Corrupted communist during the Bolshevik Revolution as described by Ayn, “claims to subjugate the individual to the needs of the many”(). Thus destroying her chances of expressing her individuality. Rand knew the idea that society has the rights to direct a person’s life for the benefit of all will never work.
