This company is just starting out and will have a wide, diverse range of products and services. Some of these will include website design, remote network support, graphic design, photography sessions, and technical support. The web presence is an initial step to introduce the company. Following this, prospective customers will be able to access the website for information about the company and the services offered. Future updates will include the addition of available products made by the company. The site will need to provide information about the company’s qualifications and certifications of the staff, contact information, and information request forms. In anticipation of future growth of the services and products offered, a site template page will need to allow for the creation of additional pages and information. The project is forecast to be completed in three basic phases. The first phase will be to define the content to be initially included on the site by researching other company websites of a similar nature. This will produce a rough draft of the content and page layout for the website. It will also provide a basic template constructed from observations of......

Too Far Ahead of the It Curve

...Overview All organizations want to grow and prosper. To obtain that growth and prosperity, organizations set longterm goals and use numerous tools such as metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of their goals. If the performance measures (metrics, for example, revenue per employee or percentage of orders shipped on time) and the analysis tools (analytics) applied against the outcomes are appropriate, they will help the organization to determine the best course of action to achieve its goals. The role of all managers is to help develop organizational strategies that encourage and achieve those goals. Information systems (IS) is the top-level term that refers to computer systems used within organizations that help them collect, store, retrieve, and analyze data for the purpose of supporting and extending the business side of an organization; information technology (IT) is the term that refers to the technology side of IS, responsible for the hardware, software, and networks of computer systems. At one time it was commonplace to link strategy with IS. Statements about information systems were taken as true and at face value, simply because they sounded so right. What an IS department wanted, it usually got, because what was wanted often seemed strategically important to the organization. The bursting of the ―tech bubble‖ in 2001 changed the way that companies regarded their investment in information systems. The effective management and use of information systems is...

This memo reviews the legal risks, liabilities, and opportunities that occurred during this process to make future business with C-S and other companies to come more enjoyable for both sides. Risks and Liabilities A breach of contract is the first accusation C-S made of Span, which starts the list of risks and liabilities. Clause 49

...deals with Corporate Governance norms that a listed entity should follow, was first introduced in the financial year 2000-01 based on recommendations of Kumar Mangalam Birla committee. After these recommendations were in place for about two years, SEBI, in order to evaluate the adequacy of the existing practices and to further improve the existing practices set up a committee under the Chairmanship of Mr Narayana Murthy during 2002-03. The Murthy committee, after holding three meetings, had submitted the draft recommendations on corporate governance norms. After deliberations, SEBI accepted the recommendations in August 2003 and asked the Stock Exchanges to revise Clause 49 of the Listing recommendations and the same was put up on SEBI website on 15th December 2003 for public comments. It was only on 29th October 2004 that SEBI finally announced revised Clause 49, which will have to be implemented by the end of financial year 2004-05. These revised recommendations have also considerably diluted the original Murthy Committee recommendations. Areas where major changes were made include: ● Independence of Directors ● Whistle Blower policy ● Performance evaluation of nonexecutive directors ● Mandatory training of non-executive directors, etc. The changes in corporate governance norm as prescribed in the revised Clause 49 are as follows: A. Composition of Board The revised clause prescribes six tests, which a non-executive director needs to pass to...
