In the world we live in today, it is safe to say that we as human beings have become so dependent on technology that sometimes we even forget what life was like before computers and smartphones. To some of us, the thought of even going to the library to look up information in a book is tedious and makes us cringe.
Technology has hindered the education learning process, at least for the children growing up in the school system now. The kids of today are accustomed to everything being so fast paced and at their grasp that their attention spans are limited. They don’t have the patience to sit down and listen to someone or to even sit through a lecture. Even to open up a dictionary is a laborious task because autocorrect on Microsoft Word does it for you. With technology it has even made the necessity of learning how to fix a sentence with grammatical errors unnecessary to teach in a classroom because there is certain software that can assist you with that. Even though it is a great achievement to have excel automatically calculate a problem for you, what is the point if you don’t know the process? This is what most people have a problem with today. They want the answers without learning the work out behind it. Instead of reading a whole book front to back, I have looked up summaries of the book or certain chapters to get my information easier. Copying and pasting information is another method instead of typing or writing it all over again. This saves you a lot of time and makes you more appreciative because it would take up a lot of time if it had never been created. Some shortcuts that are available would be the ability to store everything in one place, or more popularly known as The Cloud. This helps you store all your information and even documents in one place so it is easily accessible. Moreover, the USB drive is one tool which became very popular in the

...Date Memorandum Re: Tech Upgrade Proposal To: Mr. Kern From: Me A. I performed a SWOT analysis on the current AEnergy technology infrastructure. A SWOT analysis is a technique and opportunity for a thoughtful overview of where things are good and where things need improvement. SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. I’ve reviewed our system for all four of the SWOT attributes to give the following summary and suggestions. A1. Strengths: Secure: Our current system is secure. We use SSL authentications for all inbound data requests, VPN tunneling between sites and from outside the facilities, WPA encryption with MAC filtering for accessing wireless networks inside the facilities, physical access to the servers is available only to 4 key employees, and key cards are needed to access databases ensuring we know who it was that accessed it (Dooms, 2010). Functional: Employees are able to access shared documents, applications, and each other in such a way that the individual worker is just as effective with other coworkers regardless if they are in office or at another office. Redundancy: We have strong power backups for our IT infrastructure that mitigates the possibility of down time due to electrical failure. Each site can function if the other sites servers go down, and each site has backups on site as well as backups that go off site (Laan, 2013). Routing: Routers are used to control information flow...

...that old, technology has moved at such a fast pace that most things that I thought were normal are no longer. We were still coloring with crayons and did math with a piece of paper, a pencil and if we were lucky, we had an adding machine. So much has changed over a short period of time that it is sometimes scary to think. An adding machine has now become such a sophisticated calculator that has computations that one could never figure in a short amount of time with a pencil and paper. When I just sit back and think what we did back when I was a child, as compared to the children right now, I am amazed. Another observation that I have made, is that I can drive down the road and see many people in their cars on their phones either talking or texting, whether they are drivers or passengers. I am just as guilty as well. I rely on technology more than what I should allow myself. I know my limits and boundaries, whereas others do not. If you were to purchase a new automobile, it will be enhanced with technology that allows you to punch a button on the steering wheel to talk on the phone as long as you have the “Bluetooth” button engaged on your cellular devise. When I was in elementary school, I did not have a cell phone, and my mom did not even know what texting was. My mother actually had to pick up the phone on the kitchen wall and call the school to leave a message with the secretary. I would receive the message whenever the secretary had time to walk down the hall...

Is Technology Good for Us

...Is Technology Good for Us? I still remember the days of having dial-up Internet, not being able to search the web if someone was using the phone, but now we have high speed Internet, fios and Wi-Fi. If you ask me, technology has come a long way. But if new technology, such as the Ipad, were given to schools, would it be helpful for students? My feet are on both sides. Thanks to technology, we are able to grasp information easier and faster, but in return we are becoming lazier and losing the ability to think critically. Also if such technology were to be used in the classrooms, it may cause a distraction to students or even teachers. We also have to consider the amount of money that is going into programs like this because things like iPads are not free and fairly expensive. Technology, over the years, greatly improved and has been helpful for us. With technology, you are able to find information at a much faster rate than if you were to look for it in the books. For a book, you would have to search through page after page, reading almost everything to find what you are looking for. Whereas the Internet you can search by key words and it would show up faster. The Internet also has an unlimited amount of information and a book is restricted to what is written. For example, books are only hold certain amount of information, the words written down on the pages, whereas for the Internet, you are able to look into more information about subjects are studying such as Biology,...

Green Technology Data Centre

...mechanical, lighting, electrical and computer systems must work towards these two goals. Building and operating green data centers requires advanced technologies and strategies. There are various ways to implement the green data centers - reducing buildings’ footprints, utilizing low-emission building materials, ensuring sustainable landscaping, recycling waste, enhancing indoor environment quality and using hybrid vehicles. Going forward, as demand for data centre space increases in an energy-constrained world, the need for the sustainable development of data centers becomes more pressing. 1.0 Introduction of green data Center A green data center is operated with maximum energy efficiency with minimum environmental impact. The computing facility is constructed or built under green computing principle that will reduce significantly the operating expenses for IT infrastructure. Traditional the power required to run the data center non IT equipment such as fans, pumps, UPS system consumed about 60% total annual energy of the data center (Gartner, Inc, American information technology research). John Dickerson Uses Light On The Positivity Of Social Media

...The surge of technology over the past decade has had an enormous impact to societies all over the world. In the past, journalist and writers would write down information and thoughts in a pad with a pen or pencil. Nowadays, many journalist and reporters use social media to spread the information. “It has improved this process of engaging with life through pausing to capture it.” (Dickerson). In this quote from John Dickerson’s article, Note to Self, Dickerson sheds light on the positivity of social media like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Instead of using a pen and pencil to capture a moment, Dickerson believes that taking pictures and videos to capture a moment is far more convenient. I agree with this Dickerson’s point of view because I remember when emails were just starting to become popular within society. Instead of writing letters to everyone – which would take days, sometimes weeks – I could send an email and get a response within the same day. So because of the improvement in technology, it is more convenient for journalists and reporters to use social media instead of using paper and pencil....

These technologies will continue to amaze and amuse us like rides at an amusement park. Compare and Contrast 3G Wireless Networks to 4G Networks The comparisons and contrasts are laid out on blueprint papers and networks architectural layers in terms of services and applications, data throughput, and the end users perceptions. The differences in network architectural layout has its contrasts between the 3G and 4G networks, 3G networks are compiled of 1xrtt networks, CDMA 2000, along with the edge network.
