The patient is an 86-year-old female who presents to the ED complaining of severe dizziness. She describes the episodes as occurring mainly when she changes her position whether she is in bed of standing and often when she stands up. They last seconds to minutes and they resolve when the patient changes her position again. She closes her eyes when the episodes occur. She reports that she recently was sick with URI sinusitis and she was placed on antibiotics. She has never had these symptoms in the past. Her medical history is significant for hyperlipidemia, hypertension and anxiety. She is known to have valvular disease. She has also had bilateral cataracts. She is admitted acutely inpatient.
