1. Describe your outcome from this week’s MyFoundationsLab® assignment.

In this week’s My Foundations Lab assignment I learned about study skills. I became aware of different note taking skills that can majorly improve my learning experience. I also learned how that I should set myself a reading goal before reading text. Also I realized how my reading skills can help my studing skills and by creating a space that can help my concentrations well help my reading comprehension as well as studying. Getting the most from my reading assignments can become a great skill that will help my studying habits for the rest of my schooling.

2. Identify the skills you’ve learned this week. How could each of these apply to your academic work? How could each of these apply to your professional work?

The skill that was taught to me this week in the My Foundtations Lab assignment that will most greatly effect my academic work is the effective not takeing skill. I always had a hard time figuring out how to become more precise with my notes and not end up copying the whole section into my notes. This can apply to my professional work as well because it can become useful when ever I am in a meeting or need to review information. If I can take precise notes I can educate my self in the topic.

3. Describe the reading and comprehension strategies you will employ. How will these help make you a more effective reader?

I plan on to employ a better reading envorment that can help my concentration most likely being my bedroom where it is quiet and I can control the niose level. I will start by preveiwing the chapter first I would then be able to figure out how I shold break the chapter up into sepereate reading sessions. This will make the reading more effective because I will not be cramming the whole chapter at once. Also I plan on using the reading strategy where you take the headings and subheadings and pose then in to a question form . Once you read that section you will have answers to the questions you posed. As well as the main ideas and gist of the section just read.

4. What is “primary source material”? Explain why knowing how to identify and use primary source materials is important for academic reading and writing.

Primary source materials are the original research or documents included in text.
