1. Print out your card and “string of hearts” on regular paper. Cut out the card and the “string of hearts.” Fold the card widthwise first, then fold the card a second time, lengthwise. The inside of the card should feature the words “I” and “You”.

2. To create the “string of hearts,” start by folding along the first dashed line on the left so the half heart is showing like it is in the diagram. Now, work your away along the “string” by making a fold at every dashed line. The second half of a heart should fold under the first and so on, creating an accordion fold.

3. Once your hearts are folded, cut along the shape of the half heart on the top and the bottom of the accordion fold. Make sure you keep it connected to all the other hearts via the right side of the fold. When you open your string, the hearts should all be connected. You may need to trim away any extra white paper. cut out heart

Valentine’s Day Pop-Out Card 4. You won’t need the half heart on the left side of the string; cut it off along the fold. Now, tape or glue the left half of the leftmost heart to the inside of the card, on top of the grey heart marker on the card. Tilt it slightly to the right before the glue dries to create a bowing effect. Now, glue or tape the right half of the rightmost heart to the inside of the card over the other grey heart marker. Tilt it slightly to the left. Next, neatly fold your hearts and close the card. When the card is opened, the hearts will stretch out and pop forward.

5. Add a personal greeting and your card is ready to be presented to someone special!

Ender Wiggin Character Analysis

...Is Ender Wiggin their last chance at saving humanity? Maybe one of the many questions one can ask himself while reading Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. In the book, Andrew “Ender” Wiggin is placed in a difficult situation. Although he overcomes the situation, it did not affect his identity. Ender had to learn to cope with the things that have happened to him. At the age of six, Ender was taken and placed in battle school. Unlike most of his peers, Ender is isolated from almost everyone else and advances more quickly. This causes a majority of his peers and commanders to develop an animosity towards him. However, Ender does begin to make friends who genuinely care for him. While Ender thinks everything is going well, the administrators decide to make him a commander...

Valentine

...February 14 is not celebrated because it is often too close to the Chinese New Year, which usually falls on either January or February. In Chinese culture, there is an older observance related to lovers, called "The Night of Sevens" (Chinese: 七夕; pinyin: Qi Xi). According to the legend, the Cowherd star and the Weaver Maid star are normally separated by the Milky Way (silvery river) but are allowed to meet by crossing it on the 7th day of the 7th month of the Chinese calendar. In recent years, celebrating White Day has also become fashionable among some young people. Finland and Estonia In Finland Valentine's Day is called Ystävänpäivä which translates into "Friend's Day". As the name indicates, this day is more about remembering all your friends, not only your loved ones. In Estonia Valentine's...

Ender's Game Compassion Analysis

...Nelson Mandela once said “Our human compassion binds us the one to the other - not in pity or patronizingly, but as human beings who have learnt how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future”. Compassion is one of the most admirable traits a human can be composed of because it connects us in various ways. There are multiple occurrences of compassion throughout the book. In the novel Ender’s Game the author Orson Scott Card uses foreshadowing to strongly support the theme of compassion that is portrayed by Ender. In this novel there are multiple occasions where the theme compassion is expressed by Ender. The game tends to mess with Ender’s mind and memories. Ender’s most precious memories are of his sister, Valentine, and they know that so it is used to Ender’s disadvantage when expressed in the book, “As always the serpent waited in the tower room, unraveling itself from the rug on the floor. But this time Ender didn’t grind it underfoot. This time he caught it in his hands, knelt before it, and gently, so gently, brought the snake’s gaping mouth to his lips. And kissed. . . . And the snake in his hand thickened and bent into...

...Classification Essay Photography is one of my favorite pastimes. I like to photograph family and friends, birthday parties and weddings. I also like to take pictures at holiday times especially. Before I take photos, I have to always make sure that I have all the necessary equipment, such as my camera, tri-pod, memory cards and extra batteries. I don’t want to miss any funny stuff or anything very memorable that may happen when my family gathers together. Taking a lot of pictures can drain your batteries quickly. I like taking pictures of my friends, people that I grew up with, old classmates. It’s good to look back at photos and see how much your looks have changed from when you were children. I like to take pictures of my classmates because as we grew older, our lives went in all kinds of different directions and some of them may have passed, but I look at it as always having a piece of them, something to remember them by. Birthday parties, I get some of the real keeper photos there. I like taking pictures of people when they are just being themselves. I love taking pictures at the baby’s first birthday party. You know the first thing that they all do, that is, take a plug out of there cake with their little fists and smash it into there faces. I also like to get pictures of them running, screaming and crying when they see the dreadful clown. I would say taking wedding photos is my favorite. I say that because, when my nephew got married, I was the photographer for beginning...

Single on Valentine's Day

...--Chandni Jhunjhunwala Hallmark arrived in my hometown of Calcutta, India, around the time I turned 14. On Valentine's Day, I waited in line with hordes of other teenagers just for a chance to get into the store. I remember wishing two things. One: That I wasn't the only person there with her mother. Two: That the cute boy whom I could see through the store window was skimming through the aisles picking out a gift for me. It was such a scene — the hundreds of greeting cards with messages of love and romance, guys in their school uniforms looking uncomfortable as they tried to pick the perfect stuffed animal for their girlfriends, many of whom were beside them giving them not-so-subtle hints. I wanted so desperately to be a part of this. Unfortunately, Valentine's Day passed and I received nothing but a lecture from my father on how Western capitalism was ruining our culture. The next Valentine's Day, I still didn't have a boyfriend, but I did receive a greeting card from a secret admirer. It would have been flattering, except the card featured a picture of an office desk with neatly arranged paper clips and pens. I can't remember what it said inside the card, but it hardly mattered. While other women inspire candlelit dinners and marriage proposals, some guy felt the need to tell me that I was as exciting as office supplies. Not to say that all my Valentine's Days have been dull. I had a particularly memorable one the year I was dating, long-distance, a guy who lived in England...

Personal Narrative: Conquering Creativity

...I’d like to say thank you to my friend, Joey. Conquering fifth grade is a difficult task in itself, but in a rigidly conservative elementary school where concealer was seen as war paint and peach scented lip-gloss an unforgivable transgression; no one came out unscathed. Even the most prim, pristine pre-teens endured due process in the blue tiled bathrooms, scrubbing their eyes relentlessly, attempting to remove the abomination that was Maybelline mascara. In this environment, creativity was swiftly shunned, and any attempt to ignite a spark was deftly doused with water. It would be an understatement to say things looked pretty bleak. Joey was different. He loved the fine arts, dog-themed Valentine’s Day cards, and Meryl Streep. Joey also did...

Is the Government Justified in Involving Itself in the Private Lives of Citizens?

...Is government ever justified in involving itself in the private lives and personal decisions of its citizens? Why of why not? Yes, the government is always justified when immersing itself in the lives of its citizens, as the benefits of this practice will always outweigh its consequences. This question had a very definite answer when great men like George Washington, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, etc. found our great nation of America: no. Back then, it was very obvious that government should not spy on its own citizens and make decisions for them. This was actually the philosophy that the nation was based off, the Americans were tired of the British government controlling their lives, so they broke free and found the United States of America. But in today’s technologically advancing information age, the question is severely complicated with inventions like the Global Positions System, the World Wide Web, computer chips, the cellular telephone, etc. Of course, there are laws to regulate surveillance on these devices, but the invention of new technologies is passing these laws. As complicated as the question gets, I believe that the government is justified to immerse itself into the private lives and decisions of its citizens for a multitude of reasons. First, government surveillance practices can save lives, put criminals behind bars, or even find missing people, which definitely warrants the need for cellular surveillance. Another example of this justification...

He was the go to person if you need to know anything about the United States. He claimed to have many of relatives as residents of this land. Eavesdropping

...To be aware of your surroundings is one thing; however eavesdropping on others around you may or may not be an ethical dilemma. “Eavesdropping is secretly listening to the private conversation of others without their consent… This is commonly thought to be unethical and there is an old adage that “eavesdroppers seldom hear anything good of themselves, eavesdroppers always try to listen to matters that concern them.”” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eavesdropping) Twice I had to participate in eavesdropping and observed notes about language, gestures, expressions, etc. Recently I acquired the task of eavesdropping on the people around me. The first conversation I observed was an interesting conversation. This person was face timing a plethora of women just so he could get them to order him some food. At first his body language was calm and completely normal. He was talking rather slow at the start of the conversations. To me I felt like he was talking different because the group of women he face timed for food were Caucasian women. He would start out the conversation asking about their day to make them feel like he cares. Then after a while he would get directly to the food. At first his body language or gestures didn’t change. He was still pretty clam because at the time he felt as though the females were joking and was still going to get him the pizza. Then when he found out they were not joining his whole mood, body language, and gestures changed. When he kept getting denied...
