A key factor that can be controlled in the uncertainty formula is n, which is the number of data points for the calibration line. In this calculation, there are only three points on the calibration line, however, the more points, the less uncertainty. Another option would be to increase the k, or the number of replicate samples of the unknown. In this experiment, there was only one replicate sample of the unknown. To decrease the uncertainty, more samples of the unknown could be taken and averaged to come up with a more accurate and precise answer.

Would your answer have been different had you been given a low-calorie version of the sports drink? Why or why not?
I would say that there would be a similar amount of dye in a low-calorie version of the sports drink. To reduce the calories in a drink, companies usually reduce the amount of sugar additives. According to the USDA, there are 16 calories in one teaspoon (4.2 g) of sugar. In a bottle of regular Gatorade (Gatorade Cool Blue Thirst Quencher) there are 32 g of sugar which corresponds to about 122 calories. In a bottle of low sugar Gatorade (Grape G2) there are 12 g of sugar which corresponds to about 46 calories. The only difference between these two Gatorades is the amount of sugar. Reducing the amount of sugar reduces the calories. There would be no reason for Pepsi Co. to play with the amount of dye in their products to lower the calorie
