WICKED vs parents, what drives them closer together, but also tears them apart. In the book, The Scorch Trials, by James Dashner, there is an organization called WICKED, which stands for World in Catastrophe: Killzone Experiment Department. Their role in the book is to look over the Gladers, the kids that were rescued from the maze, making sure they are strong and healthy. Compared to the role of parents which is to make sure that their children are strong and healthy as well. This shows that both the organization WICKED and parents share some similar traits. But, they have their differences. For example, WICKED is a facility where they take away the children’s freedom and kill them if they have to. On the other hand, parents are supposed to love and care for their children, and they have to listen to what their children have to say. This is why the organization WICKED and parents are so closely related, while being so far apart. …show more content…
In the book, WICKED has to make sure that the Gladers are healthy and not affected from the world destroying virus. At the same time, making sure that the Gladers are strong so that they are able to fend off whatever obstacle comes in their way. In addition, parents have to do similar things. Parents have to make sure that their children are healthy, not having any virus or having anything broken. They also have to make sure that their children are not only strong physically, but mentally and emotionally. For instance, when a child goes through life, they have to be ready for what ever life throws at them, like getting bullied or dealing with major stress. In all, both WICKED and parents share a common goal, to make sure that the Gladers or the parents children can surpass whatever comes their
