Due to WD-40’s Duct Tape’s and Super Glue’s versatility, it seems that almost anything can be fix with, at least one, or any combination of the three.
If it doesn’t move and it should WD-40 can be the solution. For instance, in my room, there are three doors, one to enter my room, one to the bathroom, one to the closet. The door to my bathroom was difficult to swing open and shut and the hinges would squeak terribly. I observed that the hinges were rusty and stiff. The squeaking continually got on my nerves until I discovered the amazing properties of WD-40. WD-40 is a lubricant that can be sprayed on metal surfaces to increase mobility and loosen rust. I sprayed the WD-40 on the hinges and let it soak in and the door began to swing freely...

Videocon was the first company in India to introduce washing machines. Over the years, it has remained a market leader, with a overall market share of 35% by adopting flexible strategies, which are modified as and when the need arises. Initially, the challenge was to wean away homemakers from their traditional methods of washing clothes. But then, owing to high prices, the market appeared to be limited only to upper income urban households. The 1990s saw a changein the socio-economic scene in the country. Rapid growth, increase in the number of working women, changing life styles and higher aspiration levels with exposure to satellite television and easy consumer finance meant that demand for consumer goods rose phenomenally. Sales of semi-automatics outstrip those that in the fullyautomatic segment. This has been due to a variety of factors, price being one of them. As semi-automatic washing machines are cheaper than the fully......

...Industries Md. Rezaul Hasan Shumon, Kazi Arif-Uz-Zaman and Azizur Rahman Dept. of Industrial Engineering and Management Khulna University of Engineering and Technology Khulna, Bangladesh Abstract The apparel industries must produce momentous quantities in shorter lead times. Apparel product is highly correlated with high level of productivity; sewing line should be balanced in shorter possible time and effective way for each style and quantity. The focal constraint against the higher productivity is the difference in individual capacity which is the mode of improper line balancing and bottle neck process. This paper is based on an effective layout model where to hit upon the bottleneck process through benchmark capacity and led us to use balancing process using two separate concept of manufacturing processes- modular line and Traditional system both together. The research shows that this balanced layout model has increased the efficiency by 21%, and labor productivity by 22%. Keywords Scheduling, Line Balancing, Bundle system, Modular Line. 1. Introduction Since the late 1970s, the RMG industry started developing in Bangladesh primarily as an export-oriented industry and the domestic market for RMG has been increasing fast due to increase in personal disposable income and change in life style. Chang, B.T. Chen, J.J. Wang & C.S. Wu Department of Construction Engineering, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan, ROC ABSTRACT: The material performance of Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) with two different curing conditions, water-curing of 25ºC and steam-curing of 85ºC and 95% relative humidity, were studied experimentally. The reinforcing effects of the RPC with two wrapping thicknesses of 10 and 15 mm, respectively, on the surface of cylindrical concrete specimen were evaluated. Major experimental results show both the engineering properties and indices of durability of RPC with steam-curing at four different ages have substantially increased except for the supersonic pulse velocity and dynamic moduli of elasticity and shear. The ratio of increase of compressive strength of cylindrical specimens retrofitted with 10 and 15 mm of wrapping RPC are in the range of 9.5 to 38.0%. 1 INTRODUCTION Reactive powder concrete (RPC), a cement-based composite material well known for the ultra-highstrength, high-durability and low-porosity, made its international debut in 1994 (Richard, 1994). The advance mechanical and physical properties of RPC are obtained by......

Copyright, Intellectual Property, and Innovation

...Copyright, Intellectual Property, and Innovation Computer Literacy Instructor DATE In today's society, how does copyright, intellectual property, and innovation play a key role in our everyday lives? With today's technological advancements, there are many laws, rules, and regulations that can apply to everyday life. If we are not careful with online behavior, it's possible that we could be breaking several of these laws. The intent of this research paper is to inform the reader of these laws, how to abide by them, and the repercussions if any are violated. Copyright is defined as the exclusive right to make copies, license, and otherwise exploit a literary, musical, or artistic work, whether printed, audio, video, etc.: works granted such right by law on or after January 1, 1978, are protected for the lifetime of the author or creator and for a period of 50 years after his or her death ( On October 28, 1998, so around twenty years later, the Digital Millenium Copyright Act or DMCA was signed into law by President Clinton. This law implemented two World Intellectual Property Organization treaties, but we will discuss that later. The DCMA also addressed several significant copyright related issues. Today, a majority of issues deal with the DCMA as we live in a advanced technical and social web based world. Because of the massive amount of digital media that is available to us, it is important to understand the laws and implications of those laws...

Electric Toothbrush Evaluation

...Preventive Dentistry An in vitro evaluation of electric toothbrushes B. S. Khambay*/A. D. Walmsley^* Fotir cotnmercially avaiiable electric toothbrushes (Sonieare, Braun Electric Toothbrush, Interplak, and Blend-a-Dent) »ere assessed both for their operating characteristics and their ability to retnove a 'food debris " medium. The Sonieare and Blend-a-Dent have a lateral vibrator)' action, while the Interplak and Braun produce a rotary movement of the brush head. The vibratory action of the Sonieare was susceptible to loading. All devices produced both stable-pulsating cavitation and acoustic tnicrostreaming that was demonstrated in vitro using a suspension of particles in water Their effectiveness in removing a food debris medium was assessed with and without water Three of the brushes (Sonieare, Braun, and Blend-aDent) were simitar in their abllit}- to remove the placjue, and all were superior to the Interplak: its streaming forces removed no food debris. The results indicated that the Blend-a-Dent was the most effective brush design in vitro, although the differences between Blend-a-Dent and Sonieare were not statistically significant. (Quintessence Int 1995:26:841-848.) Introduction Electric toothbrushes have become established as an effective alternative to manual methods of toothbrushing. The mode of action of these brushes is designed to simulate manual methods and as such is attractive to the population as an easy and simple method of brushing teeth. The use...

Boeing Case Study

...Introduction In this case Boeing faces a number of challenges in determiningthe viability of bringing forth the 7E7 aircraft series. Aircraft manufacturersbringing forth a new product has to take extra care since a miss in this assessment can place a company in a position to fail the result of huge cash outflows required. Boeing faced stiff competition from French based Airbus and had not brought forth a successful new product in recent years. Since the September 11th attacks travel had taken a drop in general and Boeing was making assumptions regarding future needs and opportunities. This included the willingness of travelers to pay 5% more for efficiency and the increase of hub and spoke travel for airlines requiring flexibility in mid-sized aircraft. To assess the validity of the 7E7 series extra care will be taken to look at all the measurements to reduce the risk inherent in new product introductions in the aircraft business. Question 1 a. What is an appropriate required rate of return against which to evaluate the prospective IRRs from the Boeing 7E7? Please use the capital asset pricing model to estimate the cost of equity. At the date of the case, the 74-year equity market risk premium (EMRP) as estimated to be (see below). Which beta and risk-free rate did you use? Why? With the excessive use of plastics and increasing pressure being placed on capacities available for plastic waste disposal, the need for biodegradable plastics and biodegradation of plastic wastes has assumed increasing importance in the last few years. Awareness of the waste problem and its impact on the environment has awakened new interest in the area of degradable polymers. The interest in environmental issues is growing and there are increasing demands to develop material which do not burden the environment significantly. Biodegradation is necessary for water-soluble or water-immiscible polymers because they eventually enter streams which can neither be recycled nor incinerated. It is important to consider the microbial degradation of natural and synthetic polymers in order to understand what is necessary for biodegradation and the mechanisms involved.......
