Wearing Quick Weaves versus Sew-ins

Today women are more likely to be wearing not just the latest fashion, but also weave. There are many styles and methods when it comes to applying weaves. All techniques of weaves styles have different procedures; some may seem more difficult to apply than others. The two most popular techniques are quick weaves and sew-ins. Quick weaves and sew-ins differ in technique, care and cost. A quick weave is a method of installing hair extensions to hair without leaving out any natural hair. The hair extensions are attached to the natural hair by either adding gel to the natural hair to lay it down or by braiding the natural hair down to the scalp and then gluing the hair extensions down on top of that. With this method a person do not have to worry about choosing a color to match the natural hair, or about blending the hair extensions in with the natural hair. This method also gives a very flat and non bulky look to the hair extensions. A Quick Weave can last up to 4 weeks with proper maintenance. It could last longer but the natural hair needs to be washed and deep conditioned every month, especially when wearing braids or hair extensions regularly. To maintain a Quick Weave style a person should never put any oil based product onto the extension hair, for straight styles a person should wrap the hair every night and tie it up with a satin bonnet or satin scarf, for curly styles a person should apply light mouse and roller set to the hair overnight as often as needed, and sleep with a satin scarf or bonnet, and a person should come in to get the extensions re tightened every 2 weeks or when they become loose. The average cost of quick weaves is eighty dollars and up depending on the hair and style. A sewn-in hair weave is just that – a weave attached to a person hair with a needle and thread. Yes, it’s just like sewing. The procedure begins with the braiding of a tiny section of hair. The weave is sewn to the braid. The needle is threaded with matching thread, and then sewn half-hitch knots hold the weave in place. The braiding and sewing is done in even rows until the weave blends naturally with the hair. From start to finish, the procedure takes about four to six hours. Once the weave is in the hair for eight weeks, it will more than likely begin to loosen up. For some women, this loosening may go unnoticed until the 10th week, which is as long as anyone should wait for a redo. Once the weave loosens, it will only get worse. The weave may begin to slide down the hair strands, and possibly break off some of the hair. At that point, a person will need to visit a hairdresser to correct the weave. Once a sewn-in weave hits its sixth month, it is time to bid it goodbye. The weave may look great, and a person may be reluctant to do so, but it’s for the best. Leaving a sewn-in weave in the hair longer than three months may damage the real hair underneath, and that can lead to tangles, mattes, breakage and structural damage. The average cost of sew-ins is eighty five dollars and up depending on hair and style. Women today are boldly wearing hairstyles from weaves. The differences between the two are a sew-in weave actually braids and sews the new hair into the existing hair. A quick weave is a do-it-a yourself weaves that uses glue and glues the extensions to the hair and scalp. Both quick weaves and sew-ins are popular methods because it is an easy effective way to try a different looks without having to use hash chemicals and damage the hair.

Between the two buildings is the opening of the Cave of Pan. LYSISTRATA is pacing up and down in front of her house.) LYSISTRATA Ah! if only they had been invited to a Bacchic revelling, or a feast of Pan or Aphrodite or Genetyllis, why! the streets would have been impassable for the thronging tambourines! ...The work of this year’s laureate, Shigeru Ban, has also been displayed at Vitra. Huddled on a lawn, his structures, three fifty-dollar tents sheathed in standard-issue plastic tarps from the U.N., intended for the refugees of the Rwandan civil war, looked as if any minute they might be loaded on a pallet and removed. Ban’s work lay underneath the plastic: a simple skeleton of recycled-paper tubes, fitted together with plastic joints and braced with ropes describing the pattern of an unfinished star. Ban, who has built museums, mansions, corporate headquarters, and a golf-course clubhouse in South Korea, takes pleasure in distinguishing himself from his peers, and in pointing up their excesses: not much of their work could fit into a kit that comprises eleven elements (Paper Tube A, Paper Tube B, plastic peg), including the bag. “This company has the most expensive collection of architecture,” he says. “My tents became their cheapest collection.” In a profession often associated with showmanship and ego, Ban’s work appears humble, and appropriate to a historical moment that celebrates altruism, or its posture. The Supreme Court Justice Stephen G. Breyer, a member of the Pritzker jury, told me that he was moved by Ban’s commitment to the dispossessed. “The world is filled with billions of people, and most of them live in conditions where they will never see an architect or an architect-designed space,” he said. “To have a first-rate architect pay attention to those in need of...

Isabelle Borges, one of the product market specialists in the women’s wear department at the Zara headquarters, sensed that they were on to something. The new khaki skirt had sold out in the La Coruña store after only a few hours on the shelves and the store manager had just told her that she could have easily sold more. A small batch of 2800 skirts, just enough to “test the waters,” had been sent out the previous night to a selection of Zara’s worldwide network of stores. Ms. Borges called around a few of the Seville stores and discovered that sales there were also very brisk. If these market signals were not enough, she had also spotted a colleague wearing the skirt. “That’s always a good sign. Employees here are tough...
