Being able to create a web page is an interesting development. In the beginning, researching which tutorials to use for this project seemed a little difficult for deciding which ones to use. There are numerous tutorials out there but only a few of them include specific tutorials and examples on how you can create a web page step by step. The main one that I used was a site named, Page Tutor which goes over each step on how to create your own page. I enjoyed using this site as my main resource to creating my web page because it gave specific examples as well as pictures revealing how the page will look on the internet with using certain codes. The process with creating my web page was not too difficult. In previous semesters, I’ve taken courses related to Web Development and Flash. They were interesting classes and while working on this project it brought back some of the things I’ve learned from those classes. A few things I had forgotten but overall I had fun while working on this web page. The coding was not too hard to grasp but it reminded me how easily you can make a mistake. Some of the mistakes I stumbled upon were not closing brackets or misspelling some of the coding on my page. This can take some time to realize what mistakes you’ve made which I spent quite some time looking over. This was an exciting and interesting project to work on. Hopefully in the future, I will continue with Web Development since it’s a stimulating process.

...Web page A web page or webpage is a document commonly written in HyperText Markup Language (HTML) that is accessible through the Internet or other network using a browser. A web page is accessed by entering a URL address and may contain text, graphics, and hyperlinks to other web pages and files. The page you are reading now is an example of a web page. HTML Developed by Tim Berners-Lee in 1990, HTML is short for HyperText Markup Language. HTML is used to create electronic documents (called pages) that are displayed on the World Wide Web. Each page contains a series of connections to other pages called hyperlinks. Every web page you see on the Internet is written using one version of HTML code or another. Hypertext A method of organizing and accessing text or other data, such as tables, presentational content and images, through the use of hyperlinks. Today, anyone who has been on the Internet is familiar with hypertext as it is in every link they click or tap. Hypertext is a concept that was mentioned in an Atlantic Monthly article in 1945 by Vannevar Bush, who talked about a photo-electric mechanical device called a Memex (short for memory extension) capable of creating and following links between documents on microfiche. This concept was later coined by Ted Nelson in 1965 who worked for and with Andries van Dam at Brown University. Andries, with the help of Ted and other Brown University students, created a Hypertext Editing System (HES). However, the first public display...

Analyzing a Web Page

...352 Paper on Analyzing a Web Page Paper on Analyzing a Web Page In the society of human services there are diverse fields and concerns that personnel deal with on an everyday basis. It is important to find the right steps to shift back into the correct direction. Web sites are produced in order to assist human service workers locate diverse ways and programs for the consumer and patients to which they work with or for. The human services field is composed with all sorts of people with many different issues; no individual is ever turned away. Many individuals discover that getting assistance is an excellent idea but many still believe that it can be a terrible idea. Some believe that it is easier to deal with troubles and concerns by them and that is not a good way of thinking because asking for help can help an individual. The web site that I have researched was the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (www.hhs.gov). I decided to use this website because it deals with many different people with various issues. The government has many different state funded programs and resources which are used to assist those in need. The government is very involved and people may not know that because they do not advertise and make the information aware of like they should. The government wants to make sure that all health option is available to all Americans in need. The purpose of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services web site is to protect the health...

Analyzing a Web Page

...Analyzing a Web Page Analyzing a Web Page The website I chose is to evaluate is Community Action Committee known as (knoxcac.org.). This website is about helping the Knox County residence get help that they need by putting the information on their website that will guide them in the right direction for assistance in healthcare, housing, and services for children and seniors. According to Widner University and Wolfram Memorial Library, there are four ways to properly analyze a website to make sure that the information that you are getting is legitimate and credible. The first one is checking the Authority of the website. This means that the website should have it clearly posted the person or persons who are responsible for the information that is posted on the website. There should be a name of the person or group and/or some kind of contact information for that person. On the website I chose there is a specific person listed as the Executive contact of the CAC along with individual names, phone and fax numbers, and email contact for each neighborhood. I did not see a copyright date on the website but all the information concerning the webpage is listed such as address, and phone numbers. The second thing that they talked about was accuracy. Making sure that the information is indeed factual as well as the sources being listed is also very important. Including dates that the information was added to the site is also very important. Web Pages Analysis

...Web Pages Analysis – Module 7 As the world of technology progresses every day, having a website has become crucial for businesses and schools. “With costs being extremely low at the entry level, it's becoming difficult to imagine a reason for any company of any size not to have a website.” [1] There are multiple benefits of having a website such as: save time and cost, increase sales, services, and accessibility, higher credibility, and so forth. For this research paper I will be analyzing six web pages. Based on the e-business I’m creating, three business pages I’m reviewing are: Essay Lab, Smart Writing Services and Ninja Essays. The remaining three web sites are: Suffolk Community College, Nassau Community College and Dr. Ebrahimi’s website. To begin with, Essay Lab is one of the three writing service businesses I’ve selected. The home page of this particular business is informative and gives a good idea of what the business is about and why would a person need to use their service. However, I feel more information to support their business could be provided. Another issue is the content is not direct to the point; instead it drags on causing lack of interest to the reader. Stating live chat availability and not actually providing it is another problem with the website which fails to meet the 7x2C standard of ‘Completeness and Coverage’. On the other hand, the navigation is consistent and effective. The organization of the website as well is intuitive and easy to...

Kudler Fine Foods’ E-Commerce Analysis Paper

...competitive. As part of this task, we will discuss and analyze how we will integrate online shopping cart functionality to Kudler’s site and how to optimize their site for search engines. We will also discuss the steps that where taken, challenges and obstacles that arose, changes and improvements that we made as we improved the functionality of Kudler’s website. In order to accomplish this task, we split the assignment into seven subtasks or areas of concentration. These seven subtasks are as follows: Identify basic XHTML tags and attributes used in your prototype; Compare how different web browsers display our prototype, what differences we noticed in the web browsers and what caused them; Describe how Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) were used to format the site’s web content; Explain how JavaScript® arrays, loops, and conditional statements were used in our prototype; Identify professional web development standards we used in the development of the prototype; Explain how Metadata might promote this website; and Identify the process we will use to publish, maintain, and redesign this website. As we began to improve Kudler’s website, we started with the development of a prototype and following our seven subtasks, brought us to identifying basic XHTML tags and attributes within the prototype. In this prototype, there are several different types of simple XHTML (Extensible Hyper Text Markup Language) tags and attributes being used. While learning XHTML, we discovered that these...

...stores this site is on the first page. Immediately upon entering the website you are hit with the products at hand. The navigation seems to be easy for a customer to browse through the site. When I was navigating through the site I realize that it did not have a home shortcut, so you had to use the back button. So, I would change that about the site, the other shortcuts where linked together like we learned in dream weaver. I liked that about the site. When I stated in our capstone question I thought the colors where okay. Now that I go back and look it has to much white in it. I think I would add a little color to it so it is easier on the customers eyes. The font size could be a little larger for me. I would make them a couple of sizes larger for the older customers who can’t see that well. I did like the graphics they are nice and clear to see. I do like that you have a quick view of the product and it shows you different sides of the product. You can click onto another link, but if you want to go back to home you have to hit the back button. Adding products to your cart is pretty simple just click on product and it adds it to your cart. I would change the way the site checks out. You have to click on my bag and it is way at the top of home page in a very small print to check out. Did not see it and I was confused for a moment. Looking at the site the designer did not use a css style. It appears to be a basic web design and a functional site. When...

In order to get potential customers Arngren should make better use of their Meta and title tags. By changing the title tags from the extremely long title tag currently used more Internet web searchers will find their website. From going from over 20 words to Arngren Products will help immensely. The Meta tags for their keywords should also be shortened down and not includes their web address. Listing their best sellers in their keywords would be a better option that using over 40 keywords; for example; . Meta tags do not need to be stuffed with keywords. In most cases one instance of the keyword is enough. The use of too many keywords stuffed into the Meta tags looks spammy. If two keywords need to be used that are the same the second instance should be in a variation of the first keyword and not a repeat of it. For example TV, Television would work as a variation of the first keyword. Also using an updated PageBuilder would help immensely. The Arngren site does not currently look like it has been updated other than to add a Christmas banner across the bottom of the home page. The customer niche that Doe Furniture is trying to fill is for customers who want high-end quality custom furniture. When working at this caliber a website would be useful to schedule appointments and show previous examples of work, but when it comes to a discussion of what will actually be built a personal consultation is more effective and less confusion about style and detail arises. The market for higher-end furniture can be tapped into most easily by interior designers and customer referrals...
