Dear Derrick, We as African Americans have been through many different ups and downs, highs and lows, and all across the board in this great nation. Many of ancestors came to this country by way of the dark art of slave trading. Though my people were enslaved for hundreds of years and many generation were born and died as only slaves, We have now come to a place of acceptance of our past and hopefulness for the outlook of our and our future generations future. Though we were set free quite some time ago, we still face many of the same problems that we did right after we received our freedom. Problems such as high drug use and under aged and unplanned pregnancy lead to a few generations of African Americans to grow up in a single parent low income home and usually it was the father whom was not there. In more traditional forms of family the father is usually the sole provider for the household. In the modern fatherless African American single parent home The sons tend to try and take on the responsibilities of their absentee father but more times than less the way they provided for said family was by means outside of what the law consider just. Also African Americans had to overcome the unfairness that had occurred after being set free such as segregation, the inability to vote, and the unethical practices to not hire or underpay ones from the African American community. The systematic practice of discriminating against and segregating Black people are more commonly known as the Jim Crow laws. In 1896 The case of Plessey v. Fergusson said federal government could not in any way stop segregation on local levels of enforcement . This left many of my people lost and with no way to keep their heads above water. I know that your Jewish history is rich and has its own struggles and hardships but, I do not know if there any similarities to our two backgrounds, maybe

Communication is the key to any long lasting, healthy marriage. Being able to manage emotions, recognize others feelings, motivate yourself, and be self aware will help you to help your marriage last longer. No marriage is perfect, you will make many mistakes. Make the mistakes and learn from them, do not just make mistakes and keep making them over and over again. Taking the time out to evaluate all the things that you are doing wrong within your marriage, by using active listening skills, communication skills, and effective interpersonal skills, will help you both to have a long lasting marriage. Managing your emotions mean expressing them in a manner that is appropriate to the circumstances (Hybels, Weaver II, 1986, p.157). Marriage is a partnership. Never try to do things alone. Communicate with one another about things. Money is always the prime factor in marriage arguments. Do not keep secrets from one another. It is wrong and in cases of marriage it is betrayal. When one of you is faced with a problem, you both are faced with a problem. When you both said you “I dos” you gave up the “I”s for...
