Terri Green SPC 1256980 Ellen R. Cohn PhD. The Role Communication Plays in my life Communication is the process of how we convey our thoughts and feelings. It is used in various ways in our lives throughput the day. We communicate verbally and nonverbally, written, signed, through messages, etc. Environments refers to physical location, personal experiences and cultural background that one brings to a conversation. Being that my religious background is baptist, I celebrate holidays, such a Christmas and Thanksgiving, as well as birthdays. So I talk about the birth of Jesus as the true meaning of Christmas, and I have birthday parties. I invited one of my co-workers to my birthday party last year as we were talking about what we had planned, when she told me that she do not celebtate birthdays. Our environment play a big part in our conversations with our friends and co-workers being that it is basically what you have to talk about. Content dimension is information that is being discussed. I was relaying to my daughter about the importance of voting. As I talked to her about voting she listened as well as asked questions and also gave her opinion. Content dimension is what you are conveying to someone in a conversation at that point and time. it’s the process of conveying your thoughts through communicating. Relational dimension is how you feel about the other person. I had to work with Page 2 someone who was very rude and bossy. I didn’t care that much about her because of her attitude, so I only talked if she asked me a question. Liking or not liking a person is important when it comes to how we communicate with them. ...Week Five Decisions in Paradise Business Part Three Nicole Halliwill MGT/350 Critical Thinking: Strategies in Decision Making Alvin Richards October 29, 2012 * The determining factors affecting Habitat for Humanity’s decision to establish a greater presence in Kava is controlled by the Kava government along with its willingness to accept assistance, the willingness of organizations to help with construction as well as meeting conservation concerns, and citizens abilities along with its willingness to assist in construction. CEO Jonathan Reckford, the board of directors, and key staff members will have to be in agreement about continual need to remain in Kava. Another consideration is if there are available resources to do the construction, to run the tools to complete the construction, and to operate on a day-to-day basis. Habitat for Humanity needs to consider also if there are enough translators that speak the indigenous languages of the South Pacific tribes, Asian (Chinese primarily), African, French, and Spanish. Habitat for Humanity needs to make sure that economic interests have a way to be shipped and can be transported out. Another huge factor affecting Habitat for Humanity’s decision would be the safety of everyone involved. The medical and safety risks to staff and the community need to be addressed. The natural disasters risk to the community and staff. The last factor is to attract tourists back to Kava. * Not only has Kava’s government been......

However, Italy remains to be an untapped market for Starbucks because of the likelihood of tarnishing the good name of the company while in the process of trying to satisfy the refined taste and preferences of coffee drinkers of Italy. Starbucks must definitely be mindful of the potential risk of ruining the company’s good name by trying to compete in an already flooded market in Italy that is home to 140,000 coffee cafes or bars as they are called in Italy. In Italian coffee bars the customers pays first then served and the bartenders who are dressed in white shirts and bow ties are called baristas serve up cups of espresso on a daily schedule to satisfy the local customer demand for local traditional coffee preferences over all other brands because Italy is the coffee culture capital of the world (Faris, 2012). ...While contrasting UNIX systems to Windows a few of the features discovered in UNIX incorporate: the usage of simple text for saving data; a ordered file system; UNIX manages tools for example printing equipments, mouse and keyboard and also other tools like files. The UNIX system also manages directories and procedures like files. There's only one root directory inside the UNIX operating system hierarchical tree. ...Homework: Week Five Business Ethics & Social Responsibility Oscar J. Miranda Professor Georges De Schryver April 5, 2015 Body The way the economy works, the least restriction we have involving a higher power on businesses it can become a good thing for small to medium entrepreneurs. I do not believe the government should be involved in anything related to the consumption or buying of goods. Only manufacturers should be allowed to regulate the information that is provided in both their products and advertising. It is the consumer responsibility to be aware of what they are buying. In a sense, I believe that the free market is the one that will regulate what is put into the advertisement, since the consumer demand will depend on the information that is provided to them. By avoiding the complexities and delays of a judicial process, self-regulation offers consumers a quick, uncomplicated, easily-accessible and (because it is funded by the advertising industry) often cost-free means of having their complaints handled. Self-regulation is also flexible enough to adapt to changing societal views as well as advertising media / techniques. It can apply immediate sanctions by publishing the jury decisions and by pushing for media refusal or withdrawal of advertisements. (About Self-Regulation) The first precondition for setting up a self-regulatory system is a significant degree of consensus within the advertising industry on the need for such a system. Achieving......

...communication an instant and easy type to the point that as I did could be living in the United States and maintaining and running a business based in 26 different countries. With the advent of the tech boom working in a virtual office is no longer the difficult issue it was before one can run a global company from the local Starbucks office. Tyden senior management was never in an office they would spend short times but for most the positions required to be on the go from country to country. Tech has made the world smaller and more manageable so implementing and monitoring a marketing plan is now as easy as when you managed in the United States alone. Tech has been the great facilitator when it comes to marketing as research and data that took weeks and months to get before are now available in minutes not hours. Having this allows for marketing and sales to react in an almost instant manner. Has this tech boon been a godsend in the worldwide environment yes it has. Foreign Practices The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977, while being a tool that stops the cheating in other countries can and does hamper marketing especially in a host country when your competitors can and do practice gifts to customers. At the same time a United States based company cannot especially when you put the orange jump suit test which in simple terms is if I do give a gift will it land me in jail back in the USA. At Tyden this was always a concern as we did deal in countries where......
