What I Learned From 9/11 Essay

Have you ever learned about the events of September 11th, 2001? Well, on that clear, sunny, perfect day Al Qaeda terrorists hijacked 4 commercial passenger filled planes. 2 of which crashed into the World Trade Center in New York, New York, 1 crashed into the west side of the Pentagon, the last plane crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Most people would think that 9/11 was the first attempted attack on the US. Ramzi Yousef had been planning an attack on the US since 1991 when he proposed the plan to bomb America. The 1993 bombing was a warning to the US that a bigger attack was coming. That was one of the many things I learned from 9/11. I learned to many new things from the video, some include: I never knew Osama Bin Laden …show more content…
My dad’s name is Jason Denham, he was at work at John Deere in Roanoke, IL. He first learned about the events from a customer, at the time they still thought it was a small plane that hit by accident. The things he said that he remembered most was that they were preparing for harvest and he was working at the parts counter. They also brought a TV over from the garage, to watch the news in between customers. He was shocked that someone would intentionally fly a plane into the towers. He was working with some older men that were alive when World War 2 occurred, they said this was like the pearl harbor attack of the 21st century.

Altogether, the events of 9/11 was a horrible act of terrorism. 7:59 am, flight 11 carrying 92 passengers takes off from Boston’s Logan International Airport. 8:14 am, United Airlines flight 175 with 65 people passengers takes off from Boston’s Logan International Airport. 8:20 am, flight 77 carrying 64 passengers takes off from Los Angeles International Airport. Finally, United Airlines flight 93, with 44 passengers takes off from Newark International Airport. The contextual factors help me to have a better understanding of the type of demographic my students belong to and what type of learning styles they attain.
