What Is America's Gift To My Generation

...America’s Gift To My Generation What is America’s gift? America’s gift to my generation is the freedom of speech, freedom, love, liberty, and Education. The key thing America offers us is freedom, freedom to speak, write, learn, and think. The America I know has freedom even though the couples of wars and disagreements. America fought for our freedom and our rights, America itself to me is like a small seed in fertile soil full of potential. When we have wars and disagreements the planet loses its sun to grow, but with work and effort the plant will grow into something even more beautiful than the stars itself in the universe. The civil war tore this country apart for four years; with Smith's surrender, the last Confederate army ceased to...

What Is America's Gift To My Generation

...America’s Gift to my generation Well, my generation is very privileged as well as some before and all generations after mine. We have been gifted with phones, laptops, computers, cars, airplanes, broader access to education and many more things. For example, my great grandmother didn’t go to school. She lived in a farm isolated from society and she had to work hard to make a living. There were cars but not many, as well as airplanes. My parents have told me that they had to use wall phones instead of mobile phones, and letters instead of emails. My parents didn’t have computers or phones, but they did have an education. And as you go down the timeline there are less and less privileges. For example, in the beginning of time humans didn't...

Research Paper On What Is America's Gift To My Generation

...America’s Gift To My Generation     Freedom, creativity, independence, and beauty. America has them all, and many other qualities that make it different, or unique compared to the other countries, making it a great gift to my generation. Two of the many reasons America is unique compared to other countries are the free market and the national parks.     The free market is one quality that makes America unique. First of all, the competitiveness of our market results in the creation of highly efficient businesses. These businesses deliver necessary products and services to us in ways that cannot be achieved under a centralized government. Second, this free market, though has a negative side that I think is important,...

What Is America's Gift To My Safe Place

...If you ask me what America’s Gift to my generation is, I probably would not be able to answer immediately. Then, I think about my safe place, the only place I can look without worrying about what is going to happen next. If I look up at the sky every time I feel afraid and unimportant, and see the same predictable baby blue sky every single time, chances are I will get tired of looking at it. People thirst for something unpredictable and stunning each and every day, and I am delighted to see that the sky grows more intricate and gorgeous each and every day. Of course, America did not give me the sky, but they do help to protect our gorgeous atmosphere. The Army, Navy, Marines, Coast guard, and Airforce are here to protect us. Each...

Beautiful Gifts To America

...The Beautiful Gifts America Gave To Us Many people like to travel and have the opportunities to visit and witness beautiful sights like many things we have in America. In America, we have huge cities, beautiful national parks, and really cool monuments. America’s greatest gifts to my generation are just that, and we should all be thankful for what we are provided with. With cities vs. a lot of other places, cities can bring you joy, cool stores, and allow you to meet other people and possibly make new friends. An example of a city would be New York City. I used this city because it is one of the most visited cities in America. It has Times Square, every store that you could imagine, and central park right in the middle of the huge city. This...

Why Our Education Is America's Gift To My Generation

...My generation is very fortunate for the education that we are given. We are given access to technology that helps us learn. Part of a school’s budget is specifically used for different sports and clubs. Our main classes educate us in arithmetics, different areas of science, such as earth and space science, biology, mechanics science, and physics, history or geography, and language arts. We also are given unified arts classes that teach us a wide diversity of skills. Because of these reasons, I believe that our education is America’s gift to my generation. Students are able to play on sports teams that compete with different schools, or play different games against one another or even against other schools. My school has a football team,...

America's Gift To My Generation Is Privilege

These people want white men to have less rights, they want white people to be slaves, yet our great nation’s army fight every single day to protect our rights, their rights. These terrible people call this great nation a system built for white men, they call this country racist, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, etc. Again our soldiers in our great army, fight every day, and for what, so people can hate on this amazing country, so these people can hate on the very men and women who...

Delta

...Scandinavia is part of Northern Europe and is mainly made up of the Scandinavian Peninsula that is located east of Greenland. Scandinavia is usually misconceived as one big country, but instead, is the cultural term used to sum up the five countries that comprise it. The personal experience that I have chosen to talk about for this paper is the Norsk Hostfest that occurs every fall in Minot North Dakota. I had heard of this festival many times, but never made it to Minot to witness it. My husband who works for the advertising company for Hostfest, told me very interesting things about it and said we should go up to experience it. He and I went this past October, and what I saw was some amazing old time bands, cultural vendors, craft booths, and amazing food that was sinful to eat. Norsk Høstfest is a nonprofit Scandinavian Festival held annually in the fall on the North Dakota State Fairgrounds in Minot, North Dakota. The festival, now celebrating its 37th year, has grown into North America’s largest Scandinavian festival with people attending from all over the world. The festival features world-class entertainment, authentic Scandinavian cuisine, Scandinavian culture on display, and handcrafted Norsk merchandise. Norsk Høstfest celebrates Scandinavian culture from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. It is usually a week-long festival that occurs in the early fall. This year, the festival starts on Tuesday, October 1st, and runs through Saturday, October......

Age Of Entitlement Essay

...Entitlement Entitlement is corrupting America’s society. The people of America often hear and say, “You owe me”. Are these people to blame or does this problem stem from something far greater? Could something as minute as a commercial with the slogan, “It’s my money and I need it now”, have an influence on this generation of entitlement? The disease of entitlement is infecting people across America. Entitlement begins with a cause. Some causes of a child growing up to be entitled include: receiving praise such as, “You are an amazing artist.”, rather than, “That is a great painting.” This is called a global statement. Global statements teach people that they will be successful in everything they attempt to create and every adventure they embark on....

Inaugural Speech of Obama

...Obama Inaugural Address  20th January 2009 My fellow citizens: I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition. Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents. So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans. That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet. These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and......

Preserving Cultural Heritage- Only the Truth Can Set Them Free

...Parsons Mizzou Online ID: 436763 E-Mail: cpar166332@aol.com Comparative Analysis of Two Texts Preserving Cultural Heritage- Only the Truth Can Set Them Free Individual heritage can and does shape generations to come. Americans, for the most part, accept this as an important and necessary ingredient in the fabric which sets us apart from other cultures in the world. It is a heritage that is uniquely ours. Cultural traditions and stories provide a basis upon which generations to come can connect to all the factors that have shaped how they are living today. The next generation learns from the last and ancestral stories are repeated, passed down and incorporated into the fabric of the uniqueness of individuals within a culture. Within the vast boundaries of our nation there are unique and geographical cultures that have succeeded in surviving despite the odds and then there are the stories of those who didn’t succeed. Both cultures build upon bonding born from the hardship of working the soil in rural America, but only one of these cultures has found a way to liberate its people and share the truths associated with those struggles. Maya Angelou speaks to the African American Culture in her work “Reclaiming our Home Place”. She captures the tragic yet rich history of the America’s south and how celebrating this history as a culture has set the once enslaved African American free. (Angelou) Further to the northwest, based in the rural by-ways of America is the story of......
