Human Services is the choice profession of many people orientated people who give selflessly to others to enrich and better the quality of life others live. The goal for those professionals who work in this field is to provide for those privileged to receive assistance from them with a higher quality opportunity to succeed at life then the chances they have on their own. The individuals who are receivers of human services vary from the homeless and children to the elderly. The needs of each person should be individually assessed and then steps taken to offer the highest quality of assistance available. Departmental teamwork will be required to meet a variety of needs for one individual and should be a goal for the professional to seek cooperation with fellow caseworkers and other agencies when necessary to provide this high quality care for the client at hand.
Historically speaking, Human Services workers are documented as early as 1909 and have continued to participate and evolve into the professionals we see today. Their work has typically been to help those who are unable to help themselves. They help find services for those who need medical services, food assistance, counseling, and even job searches when the circumstances warrant the search. They are responsible for helping families learn how to care for each other and meet each other’s needs. They are the voice for those who are abused and neglected. As each case is individual, so are the people who stand behind the scenes and offer the hand to help the individuals and their families get on their feet. That is the goal and the history of these people who give to others.
There are many different methods that are employed by human services, with many different resources that are used to efficiently assist those who require services. Some of the more common methods are Medicaid, Medicare, Food Stamps, TANF

There are many groups that work with people and try to help make life a little better for everyone. The goal is to help people in need and sometimes this is harder then it sounds. They help with food, shelter and clothing to need families. There is so much that a human service worker can do to help all a person has to do is ask for help. The workers go out everyday and try to help people that need it the most but lately this help is hard to find. There are not as many people willing to help someone that is in need. If a family has a house fire and they loss everything, do they know where to go to get help dose anyone know where to go. There are some thing I think that need to be more in the open, like where these places are and how to get help. But the workers can only do what the laws allow them to do. There are up to 300 programs out there to help people in need. Human service started when the needs of people were not...
