Sometimes you will get stuck while you are working on a tough assignment in a challenging class. It is very important to let someone know that you may be in over your head. You may feel a desire to do something easy and fun, like play a video game or watch TV, instead of working on the assignment and reminding yourself that you are not up to the task. Ideally, you will not be given an assignment you are truly incapable of finishing. If you do not have a breakthrough in a reasonable amount of time, you need to alert the teacher that you are going to fail. A decent teacher will help you work through your mental blockage. If you are a university student, you may need tutoring or you may want to "audit" the class one time through before you take it for real. If you are in high school, you might need to stay after school or find a suitable tutor. Perhaps you should step down a level and take the weight off of your shoulders. Advanced classes make school interesting for people who would be bored by a slower pace. If you are in over your head, you need to slow down and really learn it. In any event, you will cause much greater damage to yourself if you fail a class or get a low grade. The American GPA system is unforgiving. You cannot gain points like you lose points. Nobody cares about valiant, failing efforts at tough classes. If you are in over your head in high school, find shallower water by changing your level. In university, get out of the pool by dropping the

...Hello… I am new to this site. I am not too sure how much I trust loading my work to this site without getting an idea of how it works. This is a practice test. To see what the site is like. If I think it is acceptable and not a fake then I will upload my papers to contribute to students getting an IDEA of how to start a paper if they are stuck or and idea of how a paper should be outlined. It will be interesting if this paper gets flagged because I don’t know how many other did this before uploading since there is not any info on how the sit works or if your papers are safe from being plagiarized. Everything that I click to takes me to the page to register, so as a contributor and a costumer I feel that there needs to be a little more instruction on how this site works. This is a great site for student to get help from, from previous students who already took a class due to poor instructions from a professor, or no instructions in my case. I have to have 250 words before I can look at the site. IF anything I think there should be a trial period of 2 days to help give us an idea of how the site works and familiarize ourselves with the idea of sharing papers. Thank you for listening to my thoughts and ideas. Hopefully someone does something to make it more convent for us...

...The Yeti is the Tibetan name for Abominable Snowman. The Yeti is one of several unidentified creatures that live in the highlands of Southern Asia. There have been many different sightings of the Yeti and all of the descriptions have been different. The Yeti was described as a large variety as a hybrid of a man and ape standing over two meters tall and having black or brown fur. Another type of Yeti was described smaller than an average man with a reddish-brown fur. But these different types of Yeti have two things in common; they both walk upright and are very hard to pin down. In 1832, a British representative named B.H. Hodgson was in Nepal and he published an article in a scientific journal about a strange mountain creature that he came upon off in the mountains. He described the creature very hairy and it attacked his servants. The village people named it “rakshas” which means demon. This was the first ever report of the Yeti by a westerner. In 1913 a group of Chinese hunters were reportedly wounded and captured a hairy man like creature. The creature was imprisoned in Patang at Sinkiang province for five months until it died. It was described having a black monkey like face, large body covered with silvery yellow hair several inches long, and its hands and feet were very man like. The creature was also incredibly strong. In 1954, the London Dialy Mails went on an expedition to hunt and catch the Yeti alive. They discovered authentic Yeti scalps and zoologists...

...Unit 3 Assignment 2: Reflection on Essay Writing There are things in the book that I have read and remembered learning when I was attending middle school, and high school. It opened up my mind knowing that I have learned these things in the past. On the other side I have read the book and learned knew things as well. It is giving me knowledge as a writer that I can use when I chose to write an essay or paper. I have learned that my writing style is to persuade and to get my readers attention by giving the reader something to relate about. I always think if my reader has gone through something I have went through or give them knowledge they can use if they ever stumble upon the scenario. Materials that were new to me were some things that were in literary analysis, and Rhetorical analysis such as how to revise, choosing an appropriate writing style, and designing. Things that I have already knew from the past was how to make a memoir, make a profile, and the little things that everyone should know about how to write properly with the write punctuation, and capitalizations. The genre that was my favorite was memoir because it lets me tell you a memorable story in my life and about the things that I have experienced. It lets give you the wisdom that I have went through to pass down to someone else that can learn from it or choose to ignore it. Memoir also lets me express myself to get to the point that I am trying to give to the reader. My least favorite was profile because...

...Behavioural/Competency-based Interviews Behavioural interviews are based on the idea that past behaviour is the best predictor of future behaviour. The interviewer will want specific examples of when and how you demonstrated particular behaviours. Prior to interview each position is assessed for the skills/competencies and characteristics that relate to job success. Interview questions are then developed to probe into these areas. All candidates are asked the same questions and notes are taken in order to evaluate candidates. The word competency is widely used in business and personnel psychology and refers to the behaviours that are necessary to achieve the objectives of an organisation. A competency is also something you can measure and lists of competencies form a common language for describing how people perform in different situations. Every job can be described in terms of key competencies. This means that they can be used for all forms of assessment, including appraisals, training needs analysis and of course, selection. • Individual competencies – your personal attributes: Flexibility, decisiveness, tenacity, independence, risk taking, personal integrity • Managerial competencies – taking charge of other people: Leadership, empowerment, strategic planning, corporate sensitivity, project management, management control • Analytical competencies – the elements of decision making: Innovation, analytical skills, numerical problem solving, problem solving, practical learning...

...to find water.” (Have the pupils predict: What do you think will the crow do?) The crow flew from one place to another looking for water to drink. He finally found a pitcher near a well. But there was only little water in the pitcher. He tried to drink from the pitcher but no matter how much he tried, he could not reach the water. “My beak is too big. The pitcher’s neck is very narrow. How will I get the water?” he thought. (Have the pupils predict: What do you think will the crow do so he could reach the water in the pitcher?) Then an idea came to the crow. He picked up some small stones. He dropped them into the pitcher one by one. Fred Smith sees fast growth ahead in the developing world. FORTUNE -- When Fred Smith founded FedEx in 1971, he had just returned from the Vietnam War, where he had served as a Marine platoon leader and then a pilot, and he was casting around for something to do. As legend has it, a paper he had written at Yale -- he doesn't remember the grade but is pretty sure it wasn't a good one -- laid out the idea for a hub-and-spoke system for delivering time-sensitive items like computer parts. He borrowed money from his sisters, leased some jets, and started his service. Today FedEx (No. 70 on the Fortune 500), with headquarters in Memphis, has 255,000 employees, 688 planes, and more than 90,000 vehicles that operate in some 220 countries and regions. Here's the world according to Fred Smith. Edited excerpts: Q: In 2000 you started morphing from your traditional air express delivery business into ground and into freight. What was the thinking behind that strategy shift? A: Well, in 2000 we were probably competing in a $50 billion annual [sales] market space. Today we're directly competing in about a $350 billion to $400 billion marketplace. Going into ground and freight opened up a market for us with the greatest growth potential over a sustained period of time: the developing world. Middle classes are emerging in various countries...

...likely being honest when he says he has no intention of doing anything beyond looking, the act of looking can still be a problem, especially if he is replaying it in his mind later. Not only that, but in his situation he is not even trying to be discreet about it when you’re around, and that is cause for concern. If he freely looks when you are with him, how bold is he when you are not present? 1) Whenever we go anywhere, could be a reception, stores, etc ( basicly anywhere there are other people) he looks/stare at girls/women.. I have been married for 8 years and been talking to him about this ever since. I have asked him several times not to do it, that it bothers me. He says he likes to look, that everyone is different. The next time I caught him staring, I told him you can stare all you want when I am not there, just don't do it infront of me, .. I sometime ignore him but not all the time... it really hurts me.. For eg. we were doing grocery shopping the other day when he saw this girl and he looked/stare at her, its like she had a magnet on her body.. He couldn't help looking.. He is looking at the girl then he saw me looking at him, he then turned away, then looked in the direction she went in... I just walked out the store. Please let me know how to handle this, he says all men look.. I said they look but you stare.. ahh! this is making upset 2) It`s really a shame that one of these women he is ogling doesn`t put him in his place. Wouldn`t that be great? I...

Management

...1) What type of team do you, the new CIO, have? What do you see as the key problem with the team? For a medium-sized technology company I strongly believe the cross-functional team will make a huge different. The cross-functional team allows groups from various areas of the company to share a purpose or objective. The team leader, with input from the members, creates the goals and objectives of the team as the first step. On a cross-functional team, workers complete assignments together using their skills and talents to further the goals of the team. The key problem with this team is lack of cooperation and cohesiveness and the causes of problem with this team is avoidance in accountability, inattention in results, communication breakdown and goal differences. 2) What would you do to help turn this collection of individual regional and department heads into a top-performing team? There are five main developing stage to help this collection of individual regional and department heads into a top-performing team. Submission Date: OCT 29 , 2014 Presentation Date: OCT 29, 2014 * SELECT ONE CASE STUDY ONLY CASE: 1.0 Web Porn at Work Al Smetana is the founding president of a medium-size, Midwestern manufacturing firm, Rayburn Unlimited. He’s proud of the way his company has grown, and done so on the basis of an organizational culture committed to honesty, integrity and the intrinsic value of each individual. But now those values are being put to the test. It began when Al Smetana learned that an employee had tapped into the company’s computer system and figured out how to read people’s e-mail and to learn what websites they visited. Determining who the culprit was wasn’t difficult. When confronted about it, the employee admitted what he had done. Al Smetana immediately terminated his employment. But as he left, the employee said angrily, “Just ask Lindley about his computer usage,” referring to Craig Lindley, associate vice president for human resources and an old friend of Al Smetana’s. Although Al Smetana did not trust the discharged employee, he was disturbed by his comment and reluctant to let it go. So he called Craig Lindley into his office and asked him about it. After a few minutes of gentle questioning, Craig started weeping. When he recovered himself, he explained that for the past year or so he had been hooked on pornography on the web and at the office sometimes spent an hour or so a day looking...
