A Job Offer I would Refuse to Take Getting a job placement is at all times a life-defining event. One’s career choice often determines the course of people’s lives. As such, choosing the correct career is of paramount significance to the future life arc of an individual, as well as that of their close family and friends. Society places value on certain jobs and shuns others, which results in young people being encouraged to select a career pathway that may not be necessarily of their liking. Therefore, may end up not achieving their real potential.
The one career I would not go for is medicine, specifically being a doctor despite the high status associated with such a job. The primary reason for this is that I believe the remuneration is not commensurate with the amount and nature of the workload that individuals put into becoming a doctor. There is close to half a decade of work spent to attain qualification in some of the most grueling classes in academics. Then there is another three years spent training on the job as a resident. If one wants to be a specialist surgeon, then there is yet more time spent learning. The compensation does not tally with the workload. I believe that much effort and hard work ought to be rewarded with a better payment package.
Once one is a fully-fledged doctor, the job does not get any easier, but it gets much harder. One has to work up to eighteen hours a day with little rest in between. Additionally, one is constantly on call at all hours of the day and night. Therefore, it makes having any relationship outside of work very hard to maintain since one has no time for others. Becoming a doctor more often than not means giving up your social life almost completely.
For the most part, a doctor’s working conditions are not the best in the world. One often has to work in some of the most unpleasant surroundings such as war zones and crime stricken inner cities. Therefore, one has to deal with less than optimal facilities, staffing, and equipment while trying to deal with an overflow of patients. As such, one is at risk of getting sick from infectious diseases such as Ebola, as well as going through extreme mental and physical stress.
Finally, as a doctor, one’s chances of career advancement are not the best in the working world. One has to work for a long time with little or no recognition by their peers. Thus, it is even despite excelling consistently at their work. Hence, it severely limits one’s chances for attaining social mobility in other pertinent fields.
In conclusion, all these factors make a career as a doctor pretty unattractive and unsatisfying. Despite society’s veneration of the career, the truth is grim. It is a cutthroat profession with a high attrition rate and none of the benefits that would be expected. Hence, I would not take up a career as a doctor no matter the circumstances.

Trio of Needs

...generally, and especially of that pertaining to magic, but that it was at the same time calculated to foster superstition, and thereby promote evil -- a repitition of the charge made against the honorable HORST, the publisher of a magical library. In our enlightened age, the unprejudiced will observe in the publication of such a work, only what the author claims, namely, a contribution in reference to the aforesaid literature and culture of no trifling merit; but in regard to the believer also, the issue of a cheap edition will be more serviceable than the formerly expensive propductions on sorcery, which were only circulated in abstract forms and sold at extortionate rates. What other practical value the above named edition may possess is not the question. Let us not, therefore, underrate this branch of popular literature; the authors wrote in accordance with a system which was, or at least, seemed clear to them, and illustrious persons, in all ages and climes have not considered the labor requisite to fathom the mysteries of magic as labor expended in vain, and although they condemned the form, they could not deny the possibility or even the fact that gifted men, of inherent worth, could accomplish such wonderful things. In regard to the present edition it can only be said, that the so-called...

FACTORS INFLUENCING ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOUR. INTRODUCTION. This includes the study of how individuals behave on their own as well as how they behave in groups. The purpose of organizational behavior is to gain a greater understanding of those factors that influence group and individual dynamics in an organizational setting so that the individuals and the groups and the organizations to which they belong may become more efficient and effective. This field also includes the analysis of organizational factors that may have an influence upon individual and group behavior. There are several internal as well as external factors affecting employee behavior. Below is a critical evaluation of five such factors: Leadership Generally, leadership is the ability of a superior to influence the behavior of his subordinates to strive willingly towards achievement of set goals and objectives. Organizational Behavior Gs

...1.0 Introduction: What is Organisational behaviour? According to Stephen P and Timothy A (2007), Organizational Behaviour is the study which enables an organisation to examine the impact of individual, groups and structure’s behaviour within an organisation. Designing the Organization for User Innovation

...DesIgnIng the OrganIzatIOn fOr User InnOvatIOn Peter Keinz • ChristoPh hienerth • ChristoPher LettL Abstract: there is increasing consensus among practitioners and academics alike that we are in the midst of a paradigm shift from producer-centered and internal innovation processes toward user-centered and open innovation processes. This paradigm shift induces significant changes to the design of organizations. Even though the research field of user innovation has been developing over a period of more than four decades, there have been only occasional intersections with the research field of organizational design. In this article, we aim to provide an integrated perspective of the two fields. We first identify major user innovation strategies. We then derive the implications for each user innovation strategy on key dimensions of organizational design. Keywords: User innovation; organization design the point of departure for this article is the growing literature around the phenomenon that companies are in the midst of a paradigm shift from closed, producer-centered ways of innovating to open, user-centered innovation processes (Chesbrough, 2003; von hippel, 2005). to improve innovation performance and increase competitiveness, more and more firms are employing user innovation strategies (von Hippel, 2005). Such strategies have proven to be of high value to almost every type of company; both start-ups and wellestablished companies, irrespective of the industry they are operating...
