Indeed, Physical Fitness Is Important
Physical fitness is essential to the human body. Physical fitness is the ability to function efficiently and effectively without injury, to enjoy leisure, to be healthy, to resist disease, and to cope with emergency situations. Physical fitness is commonly the capacity to carry out the day's activities, pursue recreational, and have the physical capability to handle emergency situations. There five components of fitness are cardio, respiratory, endurance muscular endurance flexibility, and body composition. A physically fit individual is generally happier than an unhealthy person. Physical fitness combined with a healthy lifestyle is one of the vital factors for contributing to quality life. Physical fitness helps in the reduction of excess body fat. It decreases blood triglycerides and increases the energy levels of the body
Physical fitness includes diet, exercise, and sleep. These three basic things have their own importance in each person's life and everyone should always consider those three things for a healthy life. Diet is the kind of food that we eat. As our life depends on food, it is important to know how much to eat and when to eat. Therefore, everyone should "eat to live and not live to eat". Whatever is pleasing to your eyes, whatever is pleasing to your tongue, and whatever you feel pleased after eating may be taken as long as your digestion, body weight, strength and activities are normal. Diet should be simple and light rather than heavy, but it should be always rich and pretentious.

Exercises are generally of two types, light and heavy. Exercises are done by turning, bending and stretching the body, keeping in mind the structure of the body. An ideal exercise is the one which regulates the movement of each and every part of the body. Walking, running, cycling,…...

A Plan to Enhance Performance

...Professional Studies Abstract I will explain in this paper how the ACHIEVE Model can be used to identity and diagnose issues that if addressed will increase employee productivity. The purpose of the research was to explain how being granted time to work out during duty hours would benefit the employee and the organization. I looked at the regulation that cover fitness in the Air Force and compared it to how my organizational actually conducts their fitness program. The research proved being physically fit greatly contributes to performance readiness levels. The Air Force currently has a fitness plan for their members however, it is not equally adhered to by all members. There are two reason why one, some Airmen just cannot break away from their job to exercise during duty. The other reason is not all squadrons grant the authorized 90 minutes during duty to exercise. Overall the Air Force does a good job when it comes to fitness, but there is room for improvement. Physical Fitness Leads to Increased Productivity at Work Leaders have many responsibilities. One of the most important responsibilities leaders have is keeping employees motivated while sustaining a high level of performance. This can be a challenge because motivational and hygiene factors vary from employee to employee. Organizations expect a high level of performance from employees to generate a net profit and provide good customer service. Senior management empowers first line......

Some of the challenges that police officers face is staying in shape. By working long hard hours and rarely having the time to eat a home cook meal will have major affect on a person’s body. By having some or little time after the work shift just to rest and for family time will make it difficult for a police officer to exercise. There are many things that can be implemented that can help a person’s physical fitness by just taking five minutes or less to perform. By doing some push ups or sit ups can help the body burn some energy and keep the body used to physical activities. It is very important to be in shape and healthy to be able to perform well in a law enforcement profession. It is highly recommended that physical fitness is taken seriously and it will help a person have a long healthy career. Some police officers have been in the career field for some time and became used to the fact that physical fitness doesn’t mean anything to them. Early on a cold, rainy morning, four......

Physical Education

...true that genetics and stress play a role in obesity, but exercising is something anyone can do at any fitness level. If a student is not already involved in any type of sports or recreational activities that promote physical fitness, school may be their only place to have exercise. If obesity can be a “killer”, then schools can save lives by keeping physical education a part of the learning experience in school. Schools should require physical education every year at every school. Some people do not want to participate in physical fitness because they are worried about receiving injuries. They even say the risk of injury is far greater in a physical fitness class then in an academic class. But by not being physically active, people are much more likely to have injuries. Stretching before physical activity is very important and is taught during a Physical Education class. If a student is not required to take a gym class, they would not have the opportunity of knowing the importance of stretching before exercising, and this could lead to injury. Physical education is an education, but it would be like giving my great grandmother an I-phone….It’s useless if she doesn’t know how to use it! Another reason to keep physical education in schools is there is a strong link between exercise and academic performance. Some studies have shown that even a small amount of physical exercise can improve concentration and improve the ability to pay attention. If a student pays more......

Nutrition and Fitness

...Nutrition and Fitness Adrienne Ferrara SCI 100 December 3, 2012 Laura Peters Nutrition and Fitness Nutrition and physical exercise are essential to living a healthy lifestyle. Each is valuable but together provide the most benefits. Consuming the right amount of nutrients can improve your physical performance, and exercise can help our bodies to use these nutrients resourcefully. This paper will discuss my current fitness and nutritional habits, explain the dangers of obesity, and identify new fitness and nutritional habits that I can incorporate into my lifestyle. I would consider my current fitness to be above average. Ever since I was in grade school I’ve always participated in a team sport and as I grew older, I’ve made a continuous effort to exercise 4 to 5 times a week. As for my eating habits, I don’t always eat as well as I should, but I am putting in more effort now than ever before to make better nutritious decisions. Obesity is the result of an excessive high amount of body fat. BMI (Body Mass Index) does not directly measure body fat but relates with the amount of body fat. When determining obesity, it is vital to consider fat distribution throughout the body, and body fat deposits. Obesity is a complex health issue because there are many different factors that play a part in obesity (Donatelle, "Chapter 9, Managing Your Weight, Overweight or Obese?," 2010). Obese people have a higher chance of developing gallstones, high blood pressure, type 2......

The Importance of Cardiovascular Conditioning

...Cardiovascular fitness shows how the heart and lungs supply oxygen-rich blood to the working muscle tissues and the ability of the muscles to use oxygen to produce energy for movement. The ability to deliver oxygen to the muscles is affected by many physiological parameters, including heart rate, stroke volume, cardiac output, and maximal oxygen consumption. Cardiovascular conditioning utilizes and transports the necessary oxygen and nutrients to body tissues. In order for the body to deliver adequate oxygenated blood and nutrients to the muscles, the body has to be well conditioned. By the body being well conditioned it improves the muscles capacity to use extra oxygen. Cardiovascular training is the most important style of training both for general health and for overall athletic performance. Cardiovascular Benefits of Conditioning The circulatory system is one of the major systems which is effected by cardiovascular conditioning. Your circulatory system consists of your heart, blood vessels and blood, and is responsible for transporting life-giving oxygen throughout your body. When you exercise, your body's need for oxygen increases; the harder you work out, the more oxygen your body demands. To ensure that sufficient oxygen is available for your muscles during activity, your body makes short- and long-term changes. The heart becomes strong and is able to use energy more efficiently with proper exercise. Blood pressure becomes lower as the heart muscle does not have to......

...HPE/170 September 6, 2012 Linda Morrow * * 1. What can influence an individual to not meet their training plan expectations? * Time and goals take precedence when developing a plan for physical exercise program. One must evaluate the individual for mental and physical health limitations. Physical fitness programs must be conducive for the individual’s occupational, family, and personal life. Goals of fitness programs require accurate and achievable marks. Setting goals too high for individuals can guarantee high failure rate. Developing a fun program is essential for the success of the individual; if one hates the routine the odds are good, one will not see the program through to completion. * 2. If society has the knowledge of fitness factors, why do people continue making unhealthy choices? Why do they not develop sound physical fitness training habits? * Most individuals who do not heed the importance of exercise are usually from a family that has sedentary lifestyles or are not able to exercise because of impairments. Exercise is a conscious thought for some and others it is like a trip to the dentist. Knowing exercise is important one thing and using that knowledge is another. Some individuals are happy overweight and less than physical fit. Individuals often use obesity and little or no exercise in personal lives as a way to cover emotional problems or past traumas. Reasons for not exercising virtually have no limits. * 3. How......

Conceptualizing a Business

...Business-Lifestyle Fitness University of Phoenix-BUS/475 May 30, 2011 Susan Horvat Conceptualizing a Business-Lifestyle Fitness Throughout the history of human life, life expectancy averages have dramatically increased as we become more educated and aware of how to live longer. In the early 20th century, life expectancy has increased from 47.3 years of age to nearly 77 years of age in 2009 (Polan & Taylor, 2007). As we look at today’s awareness on health, most people are aware of early childhood vaccinations, government spending and debate on health care reform, and the growing debate on childhood obesity. The more we become concerned with the quality of life and prevention of many health diseases, life expectancy will continue to gradually increase. One popular approach to increasing awareness about healthy lifestyles includes the focus on maintaining a healthy eating lifestyle and living actively to ensure the human body is strong in every sense. More companies and businesses have started offering healthy alternatives to their product lines to remain competitive with the growing health awareness trends of most consumers. However, one aspect of healthy living which is just as important as healthy eating or awareness is the personal one-on-one guidance when concerning making the right food choices and fitness activities that individuals need. This industry has not been widely accepted or positively viewed as affordable and necessary. Lifestyle......

The most commonly used definition incorporates 5 areas- the mental, emotional, spiritual, social and physical. Although each area is important to your total health and well being, in this text we will only emphasize the physical characteristics of total health. However, since no single area can stand fully separated from the rest, we will discover how small parts of each area are inevitably intertwined with each other. When defining physical fitness, two terms are commonly used: health related fitness, and athletic performance related fitness (also referred to as motor, or skill fitness).
