Lon Waters once said “The struggle you are in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow”.This is relevant because students may struggle to not fail but once they get past that struggle they will see how much it taught them. I think that students should have to pay to retake classes when failing them. Here are some reasons why students should have to pay. When having to pay it gives students a motivation to pass the class. Makes them grow up and realize that their is a cost for failure. Students will also feel different from the rest of the students and think it is not right to be a failure.

Essay On Rising Up From Failure

...telling ourselves that we are not intelligent and we are often discouraged. According to Matthew Bass, “Failure is simply a stepping-stone on your way to success” (Matthew Bass). Failing is never a hindrance for our success. It may let us down and make us hopeless at first, but if we try again and come up with a plan, everything will work out in the end and obtain success. Students need to know that successful people experienced failure and kept on redoing and continuing until they obtain success (John Merrow). Failing isn’t a time to give up. Instead, it should be time where we should be improving our educational habits and allocating more time to study. How you deal with failure will determine not only your future success, but how easy it will be to achieve (Matthew Bass). How you responding and making an action on your failures would be the first steps on rising up from failure and avoiding it. According Mickey Rooney, who writes practical articles about life, skills, and success said that there are 7 powerful tips to rise from failure: First, Rise up and don’t regret; you have spent...

Returning Student Consigier

...Creating a Returning Student Concierge position would be beneficial for Chattahoochee Technical College Angela C. Reisen SNHU HEA 520 Abstract Chattahoochee Technical College (CTC) would benefit from having a Returning Student Concierge in several different ways. A Returning Student Concierge “is the single-point of contact at a college or university who helps returning adult students navigate the application, enrollment, and registration processes and overcome barriers to college success” (Education, 2010). Through my research, the amount of material I found on this subject was limited, but what I did find has shown me this position is well needed at CTC. Being that I work with current students on a daily basis I feel this is what our college needs to keep our retention rate up for the returning population of our student body. After reading my point of view, I hope you will be persuaded to believe in the importance of this position as well. Academic Policy

...they will make sure help student to graduate on time, for example school will offer more class to let student learn more, and the school will not take extra fee for doing that. Also some online course will be offered during summer or winter break, and the city wants to make a vote to see if they get some money from city reserves. there will be some positive feedback and negative either. In this news I think its more about city government , in this news government wants to help school get more classes and help student to graduate on time. In personal, I don’t think is fair for those juniors are graduating 2014, because this policy just came out from middle of high school class, why those students need to take those extra that other students don’t need to. “Some of this year's juniors, for example, are missing the newly required two years of foreign language. Others, the two years of laboratory sciences, or the three years of math and history, the year of visual or performing art or the full four years of English.” I don’t agree student take too many classes, when they are young. Because not everyone in high school wants to go to college, school should have another set of system for students who don’t want to go to college. “But budget cuts have stripped the schools of many credit recovery options, making it harder for students to complete a needed chemistry class or retake Algebra II.” This is true for me, since the buget cut, many classes will not offer in every...

Andrew Hacker Is Algebra Necessary Summary

...Everywhere on Earth, students are expected to try and learn math. In Andrew Hacker’s New York Times article “Is Algebra Necessary?” he questions why we do and if we should continue attempting to educate all students on algebra. He claims that by forcing all students to at least pass algebra we are limiting their potential and preventing them from pursuing other talents and interests, and therefore wasting resources. While for someone like Hacker, who is not a mathematician and is fairly removed from math as a political science professor, these arguments may seem valid, but I do not agree with his reasoning. I find that Hacker takes a very one sided view and skips over the main reasons why it is taught while discussing things like dropout rates,...

Remembering back at my high school days a teacher told us to find something we are good at and enjoy and make a career out of it. College Algebra Research Paper

...you confronted with the help of mathematics First, let me say math classes are what my nightmares have been made out of since before I even enrolled in college. I had not stepped foot in a classroom in nearly 30 years and my last classroom was untraditional. My last formal math class was when I was in 8th grade in 1981, and because of my untraditional schooling, I had never had to take algebra. This was a problem because I had understanding of it and it did not make sense to me at all. I spent 10 years trying to learn algebra so I could test out of the remedial classes. I had books, videos, friends, and even my children try to teach me algebra. All to no avail, they would give me a rule and I would ask why? And they would say because that is how it is done,...

Competency Difference Between Adn and Bsn

...levels would differ in the real world.   Competency Difference between ADN and BSN Level of Nursing There are many different levels of nursing that are determined by education. Education has a lengthy history dating back to the 1800s that includes nursing. There are several competencies that differ between the associate-degree levels in nursing versus the baccalaureate-degree level in nursing. The more education that is received the higher level of learning is accomplished, which in turn leads to advancement in career, less chance of errors, a more educated community, a less hostile environment, and better outcomes (Berry, 10/2010). Education Education has always been a vital aspect in life. In the realm of nursing education we have to thank Florence Nightingale for the start of the education movement back in the 1800s. She was very strong in her beliefs and wanted to find a career that would change women’s lives forever. In 1860 she established the Nightingale School and Home for Nurses at St. Thomas’s Hospital (Bloy, 2012). To this day education is still very important and constantly evolving from technology, every day tools, medications, etc. There are differences between the associates-degree level of education and the baccalaureate-degree level of education when it comes to graduating. Preare Plan

...of architecture graduates have taken and passed the Architecture Registration Exam (ARE), and sadly enough, even a smaller number of all architecture graduates do not even attempt a single section of the ARE. What is the objective or goal of every academic institution that offers a degree in architecture? This is a question that I have been wondering since I graduated with a Masters in Architecture back in 1999. I, much like any other architecture graduate, receive countless mailouts from my alma mater asking me for my new address and my new employer. Some even ask me if I am married and do I have kids, but never once have I been asked how I am doing in my licensure process. Shouldn’t the College of Architecture be held accountable for students who never become licensed in the degree they spent five years pursuing and not-to-mention getting in debt with? Students study law to become lawyers much like students study medicine to become doctors. Shouldn’t students study architecture to become architects? Without taking and passing the ARE, a student can never call themselves an architect. If architects want the respect from the community that they once enjoyed with doctors and lawyers, changes need to be made. In sad consequence of such fact, we are now faced with an industry filled with thirty, forty and fifty year-old interns making between $45,000 and $65,000* a year for the rest of their life, while their licensed colleagues who have the same or even less experience...

Playing Computer Games and Study Habits of Hcdc Students

...with other children and exercise their mind and body which is very helpful to their health. One of the main reasons why students are attracted to computers is because of computer games. Modern technology is now very accessible to people especially students, they can easily go to computer shops near the school to play and most of them spend the whole time with it and forgot their responsibilities as a student which is one of the disadvantages of playing video games. There are also good things that a student can benefit in playing computer games because there is also other types of video games that are educational which can help them enlighten their minds, discover new knowledge, improve their thinking skills, stuffs that they think it never existed and experience new things that they have never encountered in their entire life. Educational computer games can enhance students’ motivation to learn, but only depends on how they play. Some students get hooked on to playing computer games so much so that they tend to lose interest in other more important things like studies. Some of them who don’t have any knowledge about computer games before are now addicted to it because they are easily affected by peer pressures and also because of ignorance which tends them to play games they have never experienced before. In this matter, some students who are unfortunate in terms of money spend their whole allowance to these kinds of activity which will...
