There are many rules concerning gun ownership in the country of India, but these rules and regulations are not that much different than the ones implemented in the United States. In India firearms are managed “by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Internal Security Division II, “all of the rules of gun ownership are governed by “metropolitan and special-task police forces”. The right to bear arms in India is not guaranteed by the laws in India. In India civilians are not allowed to own automatic weapons. In India owning a handgun is allowed with a license if it is for protection and for target shooting. This however was not always the case, in 1857, there was a mutiny against the British militia by the India government, this made the British army stand up and evaluate the regulations of gun ownership in India. Even in India, the thoughts of not allowing gun ownership to civilians that can pass a compete background check is not even considered. A great person was once quoted as saying “"If someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun." -- The Dalai Lama, (May 15, 2001, The Seattle Times) speaking at the "Educating Heart Summit" in Portland, Oregon, when asked by a girl how to react when a shooter takes aim at a classmate”.

There are many questions concerning gun ownership, these questions are generally addressed whether it is in the United States or whether it is in India. Some of the questions might be:
“Will there be a free for all during a riot, what about domestic violence and firearms, wont legal owners of arms use the firearms to kill and murder others, what about accidents, and suicides?” the answers to these questions are generally the same statistics in the United States as they are in India, in the United States as well as in India, people are more likely to die in an auto accident than they are in a gun accident. Legal owners of firearms do not own them just to kill other people; they own them for protection and for sport. “Domestic violence has nothing to do with firearm ownership. Firearms are merely a tool -- not the cause of violence, to quote a famous NRA slogan "Guns don't kill people, people kill people". Women in India face domestic violence even today with very limited legal gun ownership. If anything, legal firearms in the hands of women might help even the odds.” People succumb to domestic violence in other forms than just by firearms, beatings, suffocation, strangulation, if guns were to be banned would domestic violence stop? In India more people die from a car accident than they do from guns. Referring to the question of suicides, just because someone commits suicide with a gun does not mean they would not have done it without a gun there, there are many other ways to commit suicide and if someone is going to do it they will find a way, they do not rely on a firearm to complete their task.

...Wireless Technologies Introduction As wireless technology has begun to mature, the demand for wireless products has increased as new applications for the technology are realized. One application for wireless technology at the U.S. Naval Academy is to use the wireless capability to enhance classroom instruction. Currently the Electrical Engineering and Physics Departments have wireless access points and wireless laptops/desktops available for classroom instruction. The purpose of this report is to provide the technical research necessary to aid decision makers in determining which wireless technologies the Naval Academy should invest. Background In a wireless network, computers communicate with the network through a radio path vice a cable. The device that contains the radio and connects to the wired network is called the “Access Point”. Each client that communicates with the access point must have a wireless PCMCIA card. Once both devices communicate via radio transmission, network access can begin. Each client is configured to communicate with a single access point. A client can move from one access point to another. Roaming from access point to access point (cell to cell), similar to cellular telephone technology, is possible. Technology Discussion There are three wireless technology standards on the market today: Bluetooth, 802.11b, and 802.11a. A new standard, 802.11g, was recently approved by IEEE and products using this technology are expected...

Wireless Technology

...Wireless technology has become an increasingly crucial part of today's world. From health care and retail to academia across the world, wireless systems are improving the rate and ease with which data is sent and received. Two specific examples of the wireless technology used today personally and professionally are local area networks (LAN) and personal area networks (PAN). A wireless local area network, or LAN is a flexible data communications system implemented as an augmentation to, or an alternative for a, wired local area network. These networks rely on electromagnetic airwaves to transmit and receive over a defined area, usually a few hundred feet. (Yahoo-wireless) In most cases, a wireless transmitter will be connected directly to a wired land network using Ethernet cables. Once the network feed has been connected to the transmitter, and a constant power supply is established, a steady stream of radio, or infrared waves with be produced (both are electromagnetic waves). The vast majority of wireless LAN systems tend to rely on radio waves as the carries for their signals, because infrared waves tend to have a shorter distance at which they are able to transmit, and are more easily interrupted. Radio waves, or radio carriers as they are referred to, transfer data through modulations of the carrier signal. The addition of data to a radio carrier causes the signal to occupy more than a single frequency. Once data is imprinted onto the radio signal it is a simple reversal...

...Wireless Technology in the Work Place XBIS 220 September 4, 2013 Smarts phones in today’s business environment enable managers to stay a step ahead of the clients and potential customers while offering life balance and enabling contact with family and other during the day. Smart phones do today what only wired computers along with a desktop telephone did for us in the past. When an employee left their desk, it was impossible to miss an important call or delay responding to a customer’s email. Both scenarios could potentially result in a competitor getting a sale for example. Today’s smart phones allow us to leave our workplaces and take a long with us full email and calendar capabilities, contacts, text and instant messaging, and essential data and files like proposal, business news or stock markets. Many internet services offer “Icloud” or “Google” storage that enable us to sync our smart phones with our desktop system so that files on both ends remain current. Smart phones offer Bluetooth, WI-Fi and internet access with full function browsers. Business are using wireless technologies such as smart phones for mobile banking, electronic payment, wireless bill payments and even access your TV schedule while you are far from home. Another tool for smart phone is the capability of multimedia that can store and display pictures and videos and even entire length movies streamed from apps. Another great feature is the MP3 player where we can enjoy music everywhere. Smart...

Wireless Technologies Proposal

...Wireless Technologies Proposal Wallace Pittman BIS/220 May 19, 2014 Jon Smout Wireless Technologies Proposal The march of technology will never cease and businesses are required to adapt to changing technology that may give them an advantage. Since more and more people are utilizing wireless technology such as smart phones, it means that more people across the world can be connected with each other. With this in mind, the two pieces of wireless technology that would benefit Party Plates would be cell phones and utilizing an Enterprise grade Wireless LAN Controller. The main benefit of using cellular devices, like smart phones, is that they can be used almost anywhere and require no land lines. They can be used at anytime and do a variety of things that could be used by upper management to keep in contact with each other or used by workers, like truck drivers for example, to keep track of orders and where they are going. A con that would come with using smart phones is that there may be service outages and would require the purchase of said smart phones. The next useful piece of wireless technology would be to use a Wireless LAN Controller. Enabling this piece of technology will greatly simplify businesses processes by having everything related to business activities connected to the business's network. It adds security to the business's network by denying unauthorized devices access. A Wireless LAN Controller will can also keep track of business critical applications...

...Wireless Technologies Proposal BIS/220 Ivon Young Wireless Technologies Proposal Mrs. Smith, the President of Party Plates likes to know about wireless technologies available for her business to use. Currently, her company doesn’t use any wireless technologies. She has asked team D to recommend at least two wireless technologies that would be beneficial to implement her organization. Proposal There are many different options out there that could work to assist in the daily operational activities; two of these technologies that would be most beneficial are handheld terminals and a company e-mail system. When a customer is looking for a product that cannot be found on the shelf in the store, an employee can use the handheld terminal to scan the label on the shelf to see if there is any in stock. If so, they will be able to see where the product is located and quickly locate. Another situation where the handheld terminal is useful is inventory. A Party Plates employee can quickly identify products that are low in stock. Because there are so many functions on the handheld terminals, managers can give the employees codes with passwords to monitor the work that each employee is or is not doing. Another technology that would be very useful to Party Plates is a company e-mail system. A manager may need to get a communication to all employees at one time. With a company e-mail system, doing so would be very easy. Communication could involve hot sales...
