In the novel Wonder by R.J Palacio Auggie's parents had to make a big decision that really impacted his life. They made a tough one, but the right one in sending Auggie to school. First, in the chapter titled The Auggie Doll it was obvious that Auggie has made lots of friends in coming to school throughout the year. For example, “You are so funny, August! She said, then she told Ellie and some of the other girls what i had just said, and they all thought it was funny too. Six months ago stuff like that would have never happened, but now it happens more and more.”This showed that the people that Auggie are around have accepted him and have became friends with him. In the beginning none of this would have ever happened. Next, In the chapter titled Awards, because of Auggie's achievements throughout the school year he has received the Henry Ward Beecher medal. “He is the greatest, he finally continued, whose strength carries up the most hearts by the attraction of his own. Either it be through the people he has meeten or his experiences as a whole. For example in the chapter titled The Bleeding Scream students said that, “I think he looks like an Orc, If i looked like that, said the Julian voice, I swear to god, I’d put a food over my face everyday.” In this chapter Auggie has overheard horrible things said about him that really hurt him. However, Auggie has had a lot more positive impacts on his life through the school year than negative . For example when Auggie receives his award people said,”Way to go Auggie! Nice going, Auggie! I even started hearing my name being chanted: Auggie! Auggie! Auggie!” He has made tons of friends and was awarded the highest honor at the school. This has shown that Auggie has had a very good school year no matter the little negativity shown towards
